is it possible to install jelly king without apex or nova launcher?

No as it's part of the .zip file, and is the only launcher that comes in it now that Trebuchet has been removed so you kind of need it for your phone to work at all. You can however after you have it install it download the launcher you want, convert it to a system file and then delete Apex/Nova.

I would just like to be able to post feedback in that thread

[For Starters][TouchWiz 4 Replacement]

Guys...most of us think that Touchwiz is a laggy launcher and mostly people suffer from it who do not want to install a custom rom....i have got this post for those starters who want a launcher replacement for TouchWiz with Stock Rom...So the method is very simple...You just need to follow....
First...You need to root your phone....I prefer the Recovery Method from the link below...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1317394
After this...you will need a Root Explorer (Play Store)...Install it and
Then go to your system/apps and search for TwLauncher.apk and also .odex file...copy both the files into your sd card for back up (change mounting if it says the system files cant be moved) ...
Now install an alternative launcher that you need against TouchWiz...If you are looking for speedy and lite launcher...Zeam Launcher(Play Store) might be a good option...Go launcher...AdW Launcher...Holo Launcher...Nemus Launcher are other options if you want Style with Performance...
After you have installed your launcher...apply it as the launcher...again go to root explorer and delete both the Tw files (that you backed up) from system/app folder....restart your phone...and you are done!
If you want to restore it again...simply place the copied files back in system/app folder and dont forget to change the permissions to rw-r--r-- (if you are confused...see the permissions of other apps) ...after changing permissions...restart your phone and you will be done!
Hit Thanks and help me if I helped you...!

Thanks for your post, however to install e.g. Go Launcher you don't even need to root your phone...

How does removing TW save RAM??
If you are not using it as your default Home Launcher....
e.g. you are using for example Launcher Pro, like me, and TW will never be in system RAM??

Correct!
Anyway, thanks for your work to describe the procedure of replacing the stock launcher.
What annoys me a bit is the fact that I have to choose a launcher everytime it(Go Launcher) gets updated.
Is updating done without problems if the stock launcher is uninstalled?

Actually it was made for touchwiz haters....who wanted to remove touchwiz permanantly...and wanted another quick default launcher without flashing custom roms....like me when i was a starter and hated laggy tw...but now xxlm8 value pack has solved it and i am back on tw....
Sent from my GT-I8150 using xda premium
I dont think updating will cause any problems for the secondary launcher if default tw launcher is removed....because the system will only have one launcher in RAM available...so after update...the launcher should automatically restart and run as normal...(as far as i think)...however please share if there is something different... Thanks

what rom are you running?
if stock then thats your problem, this is deodex so you may need to remove the odex file, but have adb ready, casue if you remove it the launcher will crash and you wont be able to do anything
Soryy i forgot to mention its based on teameos Rom
it should work for any rom, just not stock

Are you guys rooted? Custom recovery?
Or 100% stock?
I ask because if you r 100% stock how do u intend on replacing the .apk and .odex files.
Also if you are rooted how about try to rename the .odex to .back and the stock launcher from .apk to .bak
Just spit ballen ideas here, cause its not likely I will be able to get it odex, too time consuming, and I'd rather spend time adding to the launcher.
if.
Sorry guys

No and here's why,
Widgets are loaded from other system apps, along with Google search, and many other things that are inter graded with the launcher. If you ever used nova at the beginning stages you needed root to include the widgets and what not. And my skill level is not high enough to make a launcher from scratch.

For those wanting to try this on 100% stock no rooted,
Try this.
1)Download and install any third party launcher from the market.
2) open the third party launcher at least once,
3) open settings and go to apps
4) find the stock launcher in the all tab and disable it
5)Reboot
6)Then try to install my launcher
7) report back

Unlock, root, flash ROM, benefit. Or if you dont want to root/unlock, then I would say check out another launcher as they will all give you the landscape and portrait modes. And there are apps out there that will let you rotate your stock launcher without rooting but they do cost $$.

[Q] How do I get original S3 theme back?

So I installed CM10 Nightlies and TBH I really don't like the way it looks and love the way my S3 originally looked. I've looked all around the S3 section and strangely none of the sections have a thread ACTUALLY tell you how to install theme. It usually say "Install theme then flash it." Those aren't good instructions at all. Not to mention I don't know which one to use to restore the theme and look.
Most themes are installed the same way you do a rom. Flash in recovery.

I have found some cm10 themes from play store... you may find an s3 one there

Touchwiz theme
If your using cm10, you could download apex launcher... Pretty sure I've seen a Touchwiz theme for apex. To install. First download apex launcher from play, install. Select apex as launcher over the default trebuchet. Next download touchwiz theme from play, install like any apk. Go to apex settings, theme settings, select touchwiz theme. Otherwise, youll just have to flash a Touchwiz based ROM.
Your on cm10 use the theme engine to change the look of your rom.. you can download a few off the play store and others are here at android > themes

Yup, themes are flashed (install from zip) just like a rom.

Download stock 5.0.1 launcher?

Hey, installed clean rom 4.0 in order to get android Lollipop. It comes with nova launcher but I'd rather have the stock launcher, can you simply install it via an apk file (if so, can someone upload it please?) or do I need to reinstall a fresh rom that has it built in?
Thanks guys!!
