I've been searching the forums and can't seem to find my answer. To the people who are rooted. What apps have you deleted or froze with titanium backup. I've got a couple so far but I'm wondering about s voice and other samsung apps I don't use. Thanks.

Thank you for moving it to the correct location. I thought I saw some where they had this list of apps
for the S3 you could freeze. I can't seem to find that list now either. I'm assuming its the same for the Note 2.
It was nicely done on google docs for all to see.
I'll start with the ones you gave me. Thank you again. If you have more please share.
I noticed an improvement in the mediastorage service battery use after freezing the media and music hubs, I also froze the game hub.
Don't freeze google talk, for some reason if it is unavailable it causes a huge battery drain. Just sign out.
Edit: I have an allshare cast hub because I use my phone as a desktop computer, with a bluetooth mouse and keyboard. If you don't use allshare you can freeze those too.

Is anyone else having this issue in google play.
You scroll down as you look at apps.
You select one to look at it then go back to the app list.
Once back to the list you are started back at the top.
Pretty annoying if you are pretty far down.
Anyone know of a fix
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
It works like that for everyone. I have not seen a fix for it.

It will probably be fixed in a newer version, it is annoying but its no biggie

I have actually contacted Google about this. It happens when viewing the "My Apps" and is especially annoying in the "All" tab. It also happens in the "Top New Free" apps section. Google emailed me back and said they can't promise anything, but my concern had been forwarded to their developers. I really hope they fix this.
Good deal. Yeah it's not a huge deal but gets annoying when you are searching for apps and have to scroll through a couple hundred apps to get back to where you left off. Seems like it would be an easy fix for Google I wonder why they don't fix it.

It would be great if they fix it soon... and also give us the possibility to clean the chronology of the google play, i've an endless list of apps it's pretty useless...

Yes, now that you mention it the app history of every app you downloaded in the last 5 years is worse. I download and try a ton of free apps as well as paid. Most free apps are deleted within the day, so I have a gazillion apps in the my apps list

I agree these issues are annoying. I'll sign any petition!
Furthermore, they need to bring back a way of filtering purchased apps. All of our purchased apps should be in one convenient place.

I heard there was an apk called "play legend"that allows you to see all purchased apps, still haven't found + installed it yet though

Theres legacy play store by Paul O'brien on MoDaCo.
An update to the Playstore is being rolled out to address some of these issues. You can now remove apps from the all apps list and it appears to keep your place when you scroll.

This new Play Store is sweet! You can delete historical apps and it remembers your position when navigating backward!
I downloaded from the article link, cleared market data, pushed to system (rooted), and rebooted. Works great.

Has anybody tried uninstalling some of the stock apps with either TB or root explorer? Wondering how much of the junk apps is okay to remove.
I removed everything that started with Samsung minus the keyboard. And everyrhing that started with at&t. Along with apps I knew I wouldnt use ever

Can the all share app and service be removed? Also did you removed the att locker, navigator and the att ready 2 go apps?

There's an option in setting / applications / running to effectively freeze apps without rooting. I did it to nearly all the bloatware. I don't see them in the nebu now.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using xda app-developers app
You need some of the samsung stuff because of the heavy customizations to the phone and s-pen support. I froze, using titanium backup pro, most of the at&t stuff, I think I only left the smart wifi thing, automatically connecting to at&t and well known popular hot spots sounded ok to me. I think i froze the kies stuff. But left most of the Samsung stuff.
I would love to see a list of what's safe to freeze and why.

Noob here and I too froze all the ATT stuff like ekerbuddyeker said using the aplication mngr., Now my question is does this help with them running in the backround i.e. battery life?? This is my first Android device came from ios.
When you disable them and delete their cache, it makes them not a running process whatsoever. Unfortunately, none of the stock apps run in the background, so you will see no noticable difference by disabling them (minus the fact everything looks cleaner)
I removed all the AT&T apps. Don't notice any difference in performance, but I do like not having those apps around. Didn't mess with the Samsung apps yet as this is my first Samsung phone and wasn't sure what all the S pen uses.
My girlfriend and I have the same phone (Samsung Galaxy Note II), same ROM (teshx's stock updates) same settings and similar software and yet look what Google Maps has been doing to my phone OUT OF THE BLUE for the past four days.
Is it trying to piss me off or something? Because it's working. I barely even use my phone for anything and now it's as if I'm constantly using Navigation or something.
The second screenshot is of my girlfriend's battery usage.
I went through side-by-side at all the settings and they're identical, so what the hell is going on and is there an easy way to quickly diagnose it?
I'm having the same issue but with Google + it keeps turning on automatically And running on the background... this is new to me. Wtf is going on?

Try going into map, menu, settings, location settings, and uncheck everything (if you haven't already)

For some reason I cannot see attached files on XDA, but I am guessing your complaint is about battery?
I had something similar after I started playing Ingress. It seemed that Maps was constantly using battery and kept showing me "Google Maps has stopped" messages, freezing up my phone for 5 seconds or so. Way I fixed was to roll back updates. Now it's perfect. I will try updating it again, and see what happens.
If you guys don't have the same apps, that could be it. There are a lot of apps that use the maps for location to. I had a app that was using my maps like that and had to delete it.

^ This. You have some app that is hooking into location services that is running all the time that she doesn't have on her phone. The facebook app is famous for this, but there are others that use "Check In" or Messenger type functions that will constantly ping your location.
Try GREENIFY APP (only root).maybe helps. It works really good for me. And im using beautiful widgets, weather bug, fb.running all the time.

You might also want to turn off google's location services when you're using the browser. Google Now also runs up the map usage because it's using the location services as well (that's how it gets those amazing cards to show up). So it's not just using the actual Maps or Navigation that may be running up your battery.
Nice post lol I get like that too I hate when apps dont corporate. This is a post I would post lol I know how you feel

Use titanium backup and remove it. Download it from the market and use "greenify" to put the app in hibernation. That's what this app is specifically designed for. Read the reviews on the market for it

I really wasnt sure about where to post this question, here or in apps n theme one.. So feel free to move it.
The question is clear, there are a lot of system apps, that continuously run in background but are of no use (at least for me. Every one has diffrnt requirements so its up to them if they want them or not). We can freeze them or even uninstall them w/o any malfunctioning.
For eg: talk back, all the NFC apps (i really never used them) and more and more.
Just post the system app, which you uninstalled and still the phone works smooth

I am removing gmail, Google +, play book / music / video and something called picasasync I think. You can safely remove search. I replace it with DuckDuckGo personally.

After removing Google settings, the google Inc apps wont work (like keep). Is there any other way, to run them, w/o reinstalling google settings?

I don't think you can run some Google apps without Google settings.
