I recently switched to skynote, which is an amazing ROM, but I have a weird new issue, where every time that I open up a folder, a voice tells me "the folder is open" and when it closes, "the folder is closed". I looked through settings and I can't figure out how to turn it off, and it is so annoying and unwanted. How can I fix this?

The usual culprits are driving mode or accessibility settings. You didn't specify which settings you checked.

I'm thinking the talkback option in the accessibility settings? Maybe take a look there if you haven't.

Thanks for your response. I already had checked talkback and it is disabled, so no go there. Any other suggestions?

Hi, Got an unrooted s3 with software 4.0.4. If I exit a number of programs such as poweramp or several games without turning the volume to zero in these programs, the phone talks. If I click on a folder it says "folder open". If I go to touchwiz edit it says "open homescreen page edit". Talkback in accessibility is switched off. My searches have thrown up a few similar cases but with no resolutions. I would welcome any suggestions.
Check driving mode. If on, turn it off.

Thanks Doc. Doesn't help though. Driving mode was off.
Sounds like you have TalkBack on. Settings/Accessibility/TalkBack.
Nope. Not that. Talkback in accessibility and drive mode are both switched off.
Im at a loss man. Sorry. Maybe try toggling both of those on/off again. Otherwise you could reflash your rom, faactory reset, or see if you cant watch a logcat to see whats happening when it does this.
Ive seen others ask this but dont recall anyone posting their fixes.
Are you on a custom rom or kernel?
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda app-developers app
You could root and flash a rooted stock Rom.

Phone is not rooted. Will probably try a hard reset if no other resolutions come to mind. Thanks anyway everyone.
Found the solution and thought I'd post it here in case anyone else had the same problem. Disable google text to speech and Samsung TTS. Got this solution from circuit89. Many thanks, whoever you are.
I've had this phone for about a month and a half, and almost every single day I have to go into the sounds setting to disable the "screen touch sounds". Has anyone ever had that issue before? I have the phone set up the way I like it, and don't change anything in the settings anymore, but somehow I'll be going to do something and I hear that silly noise when I select something. I know it's not a big deal, but it drives me crazy. Any advice?

Same for me. I ended up going in with root explorer and replacing the sound files with silent files to stop the sound from coming back.

Happens to me every time I put the phone on vibrate and back on sound. It is annoying.

i havent had that problem at all, ever since i got the phone and rooted with phantoms blaze rom its been working flawlessly, no issues here.
I've noticed it only happens when you change the camera to video or back to camera. So its the camera modes turning it back on. Try it out for yourself.

I have the same problem with the key sounds as well, and I also have the same problem with the hectic feedback. I have no idea what it is, but it's a small problem...

yep, you nailed the cause of the problem. I also have the same issue. It seems this is a pretty common problem on sgs3
I am seeing something weird happening on my GN2 and cannot find how to stop it. The TouchWiz is talking back in some places. For example if I click on a folder I get "The folder is open" and if I close the folder I get "The folder is closed". If I open editing page to adjust the order of home screens I get "Home screen editing page is open" and when I close it I get "screen 4 of 8". Very annoying.
I tried everything, Sound settings, Accessibility settings, went down all settings one by one. Cannot find it.
Does anyone know where to go to turn it off?
Thanks

Do you have Light Flow or Light Manager or some other notification LED managing apps?
But it should be in accessibility settings btw.
Nop, no light flow or any other led apps. And nothing that I found in accessibility is disabling that voice

Is there no TalkBack option in your accessibility settings?
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda app-developers app
I don't know when or how, but I once accidentally turned on car mode.
system settings -> accessibility -> text to speech -> driving mode.
I could swear there is some sort of setting for blind people. Maybe that's it?

My problem for solved after I uninstalled light flow

There is but it is disabled. I went through all options of TalkBack and none of them affected this. TalkBack is turned off right now but I still get the same response.

Never had Light Flow installed.
Maybe clear data and cache on Talkback, S Voice or what ever "talking" apps you have. That would reset them as if they have never been used.
I know this is retarded but I have got my phone set to flash the camera flash when i receive a text or call and now i can't get rid of it
I have so many apps with so much functionality i cant remember which one had the setting in, i'm certain it's not a native OS function
is there any recommendations to reset this to default without uninstalling half my apps
yes i have googled/xda'd it and cant find an answer + yes i have searched high and low through all the apps
I would really appreciate if anyone knows of a quick solution!
Its in settings, accesibilty, flash notification.. hope that helps

Here's what I'm doing:
1. Open camera
2. Tap gear for settings
3. Scroll down to "Take photos using voice"
4. When I try to tap "on", the camera freezes right there (can't back out with arrow, can't do anything), then it crashes.
Anyone else experienced this? All the other settings work fine in there, just that one's screwed up. Which is, of course... annoying!
Thanks for anyone's advice.
Di you have it enabled in s voice already?

Durrrrr
A-ha! Of course it's crashing... I Titanium Froze S-Voice.
