Is there a way to get the CRT Screen OFF Animation with clockwork?
Also can you post the stock off animation just incase?
I can't find one that works in development so I'm just wondering if we can do it yet
I see some roms with it but i want to be stock. is there any way to steal it from the rom?

Closest as I could find using the search function. You do have to be rooted. And you might consider, when you have a question, to ask it in the question forum. You might get faster responses.

.....
if its the same issue as it was on the captivate, its either a line in the framework that is set as disabled or a line that is completely missing.

This is it,I have used and tested that it works, u need root.

There are a couple of threads for CRT off animation in the themes section my friend. I have downloaded it and pushed it to my phone with battery mods. Its all here for you and I understand you may have looked so maybe I am missing something but its there. Also if they do not have what you are looking for as far as battery mods try UOT Kitchen - google it...
Battery + CRT
I just put a kernel with CWM on to flash the 1% battery & CRT off mod on and put stock kernel right back on. One listed above is exact one I used

I did exactly that. You have to Odin a kernel with CWM,flash the CRT & batteryvmod then Odin back pulled stock kernel

Hi,
I've been trying out different custom roms for my T Mobile S2, thanks to XDA.
After messing around for a while, I decided to go back to the stock rom, but keep it rooted.
The one feature that I miss is the quick panel toggles in custom roms.
I was wondering if anyone could help me mod/install the quick panel toggles in my S2.
I'm running the stock ICS rom, its rooted and has CWM.
I tried searching, but couldn't find anything specific to T Mobile S2. It would be awesome if I can get this toggle feature alone!
Thanks!
Which roms did you try? There are a few that have the quick toggles that have a very stock yet performance upgraded feel.. As far as modding the toggles to work with stock I don't know..

I tried darkside's rom. It was good, but I faced frequent app hangs. So I thought of waiting for the next releases of the rom and reverting to stock for the time being.
After reverting to stock rom, the one feature that I'm really missing at this point is the quick toggle. And I didnt feel any performance difference also.
Just checking to see if an apk or a flashable zip is available for this...
You should give aokp a shot.. You'll curse the word so keep after you've tried it

The toggle .zip is a bit further down on the development list i myself give instructions for your exact wish.

Whoa! Thanks dude...it works!
Is there? Pretty much every AOSP ROM has it as menu, and that pisses me off.
I'd much rather hold the switcher button for menu.
Help please
why does every single question i ask on this forum never gets answered? please help
ViperX has that option as a tweak, more of a sense Rom with the option to choose apex or nova launcher for aosp look and feel
Sent from my HTC One X using xda app-developers app
Not just ViperX, every Sense ROM, including stock has that.
I want this for AOSP based ROMs, though, and I can't find a single one with this.
For now, all AOSP Roms use the appswitcher button as Menu, and long-press home as appswitcher. I think most people like it that way and that's why everybody have chosen to have it like that in their Roms.
I know you can change the button by yourself, but it will need a little hacking.
If you read in Tripnravers CM9 thread a couple of days back, someone explained how to do it..
I would like to know this aswell. Could anyone post how to do this?

Did you find anything? I really would like to know also, i want a slim rom (like asop) with the app switcher button intact. I would also like to know if it would be possible to use the recent apps in sense style. Thnx in advance!

It's intact, just hold it for like 2 seconds, can't be that much of an effort right? (imo)
The Domination cm9 rom has adjustable buttons in settings. So only aosp based rom that works for me. I'm a bit surprised that people need the menu button so much.

That is the legacy way though.
Google stated that the app switcher should be separate, and I want it to be like that.
Its not so much need. Its the way it has always been in android to long press home for recent apps. So that building from source you would have to modify it to have the sense style app switcher layout
Sent from my HTC One X using xda app-developers app
But it's not like that anymore! The app switcher should be a dedicated button!
And it is NOT Sense style. It is ANDROID. Google says that it has to be like HTC did it.
Besides, is it too much to want to have the buttons do what they say?
I switched to Jelly Bean now, and I just don't know what to do.
...you know that you could simply open the the keylayout file which is located in /system/usr/keylayout with a simple texteditor
and remap the button yourself back to appswitcher?
In tgascoigne's thread he suggested just undoing via the file. It wouldn't make sense to feature the option on an AOSP build, but can see it making it into CM builds.

@SilverHedgehog:
Did you find anything yet? Im using the renovate rom with novalauncher. The app switcher button is still intact there, with a few sense options too. The rom.is around 300 mb. I asked the question in the rom thread but did not get a reply.
People, Android is OPEN SOURCE, so please stop wining about rather it would be better the way its being used by most ppl, thats not the android way people.
I am using adroid with the reason that u can customize ANYTHING.

@rbadal
there's the domination ROM, but that's all to my knowledge.
can't find anything else, sadly.
uhhhh.....way hot here eh?
Ok, let's try to re-start, thread has been cleaned, from now let's try to have a clean discussion, ok?
Did you try the RENOVATE rom? Im using that one on a daily base. I will try the domination rom.
Didn't try Renovate.
I'm on Jelly Bean right now, for which, sadly, I couldn't find a solution...
Hi i just rooted my galaxy S3 and was finally able to get a custom rom on it, FrostyJB 11.2.1 to be exact. However im looking at themes i want to add but im not sure how themes work and if they are all compatible or if some are not. Any info would be great thx.
Yeah youre gonna have to look around the forum as some themes work only on a specific ROM.
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda app-developers app
Thats the thing I dont see the themes say anything about if they are compatible with certain roms or not.
There's usually not a whore lot won't write with trial and error so long as you have a COMPLETE cwm or twrp backup handy
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda premium
Make a titanium backup first! (May take up to 20 minutes like mine does). Then go to the themes and apps section and there you'll find a couple. Wasabi has an aroma zip that can be flashed through custom recovery and that alone has 19 amazing themes. He did a banging job. I'm running the HTC one
Sent from my Rooted Gameboy
Pardon my grammatical errors earlier.. Wow. ADD mixed with Swype can be a rough combo. Anyway, Wasabi's themes are excellent. I know though there were a few issues with systemui crashing on some Rom's, but that's has most likely been fixed by now. The Domination theme by Deviant is bad ass, but I assume it's only for the Domination Rom. So basically, like I said, trial and error. Just keep a backup in case you run into trouble.

We have the same rom, I've been using lantek's aroma installer, and wild child's aroma installer, with frosty i think he posted a link on his rom thread, and wild child has a link on one of his rom threads, name was xquizit v11 kitchen, both working excellent on frosty rom

Ok after going through wasabi's thread i noticed someone saying that the themes are not working with the rom i have FrostyJB v 11.2.1 because of some kinda 23 toggle feature (have no idea what that is lol) so im kinda scared as to try flashing that on my phone. They also suggested that you shud downgrade to 11.1 as more themes are compatible. Does anyone have any experience with themes working on 11.2.1 or is it bad for themes.
Also i have been playing around with the Nova Launcher and have a nice layout that i can work with, I have a question about the status bar tho. Is there anyway to change the Battery, wifi, data, etc. symbols to blue instead of the green ones without having to flash anything or is that the only way.

If I was you I would stay away from themes alltogether because i put a theme on one of the roms by the same people that made frostyjb and guess what, battery was draining right before my eyes, every few seconds a percentage fell.

Look at the ROMs OP [original Post or post 1 of any ROM thread] that will list how the ROM differs from stock and/or the adjustments made by the developer to the ROM and those ROMs that include S3 or Note based apps will state that. There are more and more doing it and you should be able to copy those same apps in to like ROMs [say you have a JB ROM and it has the app you want and another JB ROM you want to use does not] you could then copy the apk over and in a lot of cases it should work [it may not if the ROM is AOSP or AOKP those refer to different code bases and you may find some of the apps will like one or the other.
There are also threads in some cases if you search that offer up just the apps and state what they would work with.
As a last ditch you could download a Note or S3 ROM and open the zip [DONT FLASH IT TO YOUR DEVICE] and got in to system directory in zip go to apps and copy the apks you want from it and move them to the ROM you want to try them in. Worst comes to worst if it gives you issues use a root capable file manager and delete those apps that don't work.
OF COURSE, run appropriate backups as this really should not break your install, but on the totally off chance somehow it does it is better to be safe than sorry when just learning.
I suggest Embryo 6
I was looking at the Embryo Roms and there are two of them one says 6.3 and the other 6.1.1 i saw in the 6.3 there are some issues with call eco and other stuff, and saw in the 6.1.1 that it has some of the features giving problems cause they are experimental, wich one do you guys think i should give it a try?

I think you are referring to the flash bar as experimental and thats because multi-window has not been implemented. I use 6.1.1 and its beeen the best 4.1 Jelly bean rom so far from my experience. Or you can do what that guy above me said and have a much smoother experience.
