[PROJECT][PORT] Cyanogenmod 9 for P1010

Hi.
Let's try to port a Cyanogenmod 9 for our tab while Motafoca do other things?
Well, I did a boot.img compatible with ICS.

I think that the best ROM for port is the Defy, because have the same chipset and use gingerbread kernel.

Actually, I got just status 0 (I think that is something about update-binary) but let's try!
Any news or something like this, I'll post here and a thread that I create on MADTeam forum.

Looked at something like this but there is a lot more needed to get v this working on our puppies and is not for the novice to try
Biggest issues is porting drivers and recompiling everything so no small task

^that was true until recently, last time i talked with motofoca, he said he has a p1010 now as is working on getting cm9 to boot on it, idk about the status but since he has the tab now, he's working on it

^ Not totally really, the tab is from Beackman who lead the tab for him. :/ but is the "same"

and i'm waiting for the great news!!!!!!!!!

And here too thanks for organising that lend and hopefully making this possible.

Hi devs is their any port of paraandroid for sgy.
Or in future it will bcoz they porting paraandroid rapidly for various devices..

No way as there is atleast no cm7/cm9 to this yet. Paranoidandroid is based on cm9.

That depends. It's the devs interest. Basically it's made mostly for higher end phones, so I don't think this one can get that thing, but if it gets it would be awesome. It was the best rom on my s2

according to xda our device is in "Legacy & Low Activity Devices" criteria
so it could no be possible......until until cm9 fully out
by cm9 our dev's can do the same
..........so patient.......................

Our is screen is not capable for paranoid rom needs big screen

even cm9 is struggling to be ported to our phone
cm7 has just got some better releases now

Galaxy Mini has Paranoid Android

it depends on the specs not only the screen.. what's the use of big screen but low ram? higher version of Android OS needs more ram to make it smooth and stable without any lags.. expect the cm7 soon it will be fully fixed, just trust the dev.

When I see at Cm site and forum phones like lg optimus one, htc desire or samsung galaxy mini I feel awful.
How this phones and many other low spect phones do have CM and we don't.
We all know that SGY is better than mini(not such a big deal) or htc desire(froyo, lower screen resolution) or lg optimus one(king of lag and bugs, froyo).
And I wonded how are those drivers so important that a lot lower phones are getting higher and us lower?
Someone please correct me if I'm wrong and help me figure out this mistery...

Our gpu and cpu are configured in such a way that we can't use half of its power...
Our gpu is good one....
Devs are trying hard...
And CM developers are not so expert to make one for our device....
Even all devs of sgs3,2,1, galaxy nexus, nexus s, nexus 7, htc one x, note 1, 2, Galaxy tab, many more...
Will be unable to make a fully working cm widout drivers...
Globally recognised and certified NOOB

But has anybody thought about creating drivers?

We can't create the drivers we need to have them provided to us by the company that created the hardware in our phone that uses them

you should have gotten a mini,
it's reality that we don't have CM for this device,
it does not bother me though,
we have a lot of custom roms though not as good as a stable CM could be but it's better than nothing,
there are nearly 2,000+ android devices and only about 30(?)+ has a CM and nearly 300(?)+ has developed custom OEM roms,
so consider us luckier than nothing

The parts were manufactured by different companies the company that made ours refuses to share it, it has nothing to go with specs

They didnt get the drivers! They are using ours still..
they hav almost stable cm7 because of the active dev support..

because of the developers,
we lack certain people with complete knowledge of these topics,
that is why we are stuck with this matter,

Just get a Nexus 4....

not everyone can afford a nexus,
and not all countries has nexus 4 readily available,
if you can't provide a productive statement then i'd suggest keeping it shut

and buy phone nexus 4

It's a good thing sgy at least has roms like h8 so we can get at least performance
And amazing jb themes like jelly bean theme which brings us close

Here is difference.
Ace 5830i is using broadcomm chip which also havnt got drivers and they also are stuck on CM 7.2 .
The one which has ics jb is ace 5830. i is differenciating both.

For Google Play Service Check My Thread in theming section though its not 100% working

Galaxy W I8150 + DXLM2 + CM9 Beta 3

It's the best news for W and S+ users! Of course CM10.1 can be ported to S+. I am supporting arco for this, Galaxy W improves further than before!!!

Great news and i'm happy that the Galaxy W is still getting supported even if it has been long forgotten by Samsung.

Eh... who said anything about official support? That was just a proof that it's actually booting. At this point, that's about it, as pretty much nothing else is working and it's extremely buggy. Getting it to a working state may take a loooong time, and also depends on whether Qualcomm will provide sources that supports the 7x30 platform on 4.2.

I just want to ask, will you release cm10 with half-usable 3.x kernel, I mean, thats severe of user don't mind using camera and video record, so its worth a shot because everybody love and want to try the butterness

Hope it will be soon, but it's enough to have W with 3.x.x kernel and CM10 for now. When Samsung forgot the W, it's good to see arco and CM Team are working on this device. Keep working on that guys.

I've read the whole thread, and not. a. single. post ever mentioned the source of the list.
So, since there is no official news release from the Cyanogenmod team, I'd say that this is hearsay...

Yes, no trustable source. I'm asking myself, why would someone add our phone to the list of the new Cyanogenmod and imply a change of policy of CM?

Ye I'll see if I can do a build of CM10 with 3.x kernel soon. Things are a bit overwhelming at the moment, with 3 Android versions to work on, so it's hard to find enough time to spend on them. I'm beginning to feel that Google should slow down their release cycle a bit. As it is now, there's barely enough time for us devs to get a version stable, before they release a new Android version and we'll have to start all over again.

So it seems all we have to do is to wait for now

[DEV REQUEST] Ubuntu Touch port to N7100?

Hi everyone,
As you probably have heard, the Ubuntu Touch (alpha) image has been released for the Galaxy Nexus, Nexus 4, 7 and 10.
I would like to request porting it to our N7100 devices!
If I could I would do it myself but I have never ported anything.. However, if I can help in any way I will gladly do what I can!

Since Galaxy S3 was one of the best-selling smartphone, I hope will be a port for it and consequentially for note 2 that has the same hardware platform

big boooi no need to request, the porting instructions just came online and seem as "easy" as building CM from source.
its only natural that ports will be available on most devices.

There is no point of porting it currently, as most things don't work very well..
This is for devs, to test their apps. Not for users.. (yet )

I am aware of this.. But porting also has it's own malfunctions and problems. By porting an alpha release some of these problems can be solved before the stable release, was my thought

I am building a Ubuntu ROM now, as it was said before, don't expect much the ROM, as it is still being developed. But I am pretty sure you guys like me, just want a taste of it.

Ubuntu Touch is fabulous and it looks great.
I see you were working hardly last month in porting Ubuntu touch in SGN2.
But this month no update, not a single post. Is this project ALIVE or being DISCONTINUED or DEAD???
