Thanks XperienceD but, try to find rom´s 2.3.7, and in the link that you post only there roms 2.3.4 and 4.0.4, i´ll like use gb 2.3.7 cause 4.0.4 y a lot slower and the consumption of RAM is so high
2.3.4 is the last SE official GB ROM. Most of the Roms are based on that. Only CM 7.2 is GB 2.3.7, but battery drains fast.

I recommend the one in my signature, which is ICS custom ROM. But GB Arconium 8.2 is very good, especially for gaming.
If you want to stay on official, definitely GB.

[Q] Stock Kernel With CM7

Hey,
Would it be possible to flash CM7 with the stock kernel on Xperia Arc S?
I want to try a new ROM but I'm not sure if you need another kernel than the stock. And I couldn't find any existing thread with this problem
(I have rooted it and an unlocked the bootloader)
I hope you can help me out
Bram
You need to flash the kernel of CM7 or any custom kernel that's compatible with CM7.
As FXP already stated in his thread:
FXP said:
HOWTO
to flash cm7 rom you have to take 3 steps (after unpacking the 7z archive)
step 2 - flash new kernel (always use the kernel provided in CM7 / it is incompatible with stock ROM)

Yup, AOSP-based ROMs don't work with the stock kernel.
Okay thanks. And when I want to get back to my origional ROM (stock), I don't have to flash another kernel. Or do I have to change the kernel everytime I change the ROM? And what makes Doomkernel so special actually?
Bram

Some ROMs need specific kernels to work properly. Of course this doesn't necessarily mean that each time you change your rom, you will have to change your kernel as well. Most of the times, in the thread of each ROM you will find info on what kernel is needed each time.
I'm using DoomKernel because I'm very satisfied with its speed and its CWM recovery which is veeery helpful if you wanna try things on your phone!
I already use CWM. Isn't there a kernel that works with any ROM

MIUI offical builds doesn't work :(

Hiiii guys! I have a problem with MIUI official rom, and maybe some kind guy could help me...
I tried to flash the rom the first time, with custom kernel, and result was a bootloop...
tried with stock kernel and the phone process stopped forever XD
tried the previous build and touchscreen is not working...
I don't know what can I do, these two last builds are pain in the ass...
someone had these problems?
I always wipe everything, flash boot, flash rom, language pack (maybe is the lang pack the problem?) flash gapps, reboot...
Ask such questions in the ROM thread :http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1957490
After flashing MIUI with it's default kernel, you need to wipe everything and then format /system and then flash the ROM.zip...
com.process errors either means you didn't flash the boot.img correctly or you didn't wipe via recovery...

Yes, the touch won't work because of the different bases! AFAIK!
It's best you use RD-MIUI... Any roms which are not from XDA, I'm not sure anyone here will be able to help you.
All I can say is do the following:
Flash boot.img after that erase cache via fastboot. then flash this script via recovery: http://d-h.st/kG0 and then flash the rom.zip... This should work.

I wanted to try the official one, because it's up-to-date and because it's official (I think is more reliable, with respect for the RD one that is a good rom), and I still don't understand if RD-miui is v5...screenshots are miuiv4...
anyway, I'll wait for someone who had some experience with official builds...thanks
edit: ok, now...the problem is just one...touchscreen doesn't work!
I tried every single v5 official build! and I have always touchscreen not working....this is the only issue I have

Hope Dooms ramdisk is compatible with out rom! I can not see reason for using custom kernel since our device flying with stock kernel but allso since our phone is quadcore I thinking now about http://www.s21.com/sar.htm and don't trust any overvolting like some kernels have non oficially! I think that changing voltages is bad idea since increasing voltage to some chips maybe will increase S.A.R value which is not good for head or body! So think about that !

Thanks for the heads up, yeah the doom kernel for our z1 compact is stock, doom only adds CWM. I agree our phones are fast enough what would be the point of overclocking, underclocking or messing with voltages as battery life is great as well.
I'm more worried about privacy, I will be happy if some good developers contribute here in Privacy Guard implementation! I will start that probably tommorow and seccond day, allready have 70 percent implemented, rest is hard since libbinder will be a problem (probably I will need to use AOSP libbinder and use some changes from CM11 ) , hope we all done that soon. Progress will be on git soon.
You are right about failed install message in CMW! Zip downloaded from git can not be installed! I must make rom manyaly and give you new link for download, sorry!

Just to inform all, nothing is modified in stock camera so there will be no problems, only patched things is pathed Z2 camera things, so you will have definitelly no problems in cam since I not used copy paste from other ports!
Next step... laynch flash tool, chose latest kitkat ftf...

Yup, it is somewhat same, except the kernel doesn't have inbuilt recovery. You can do it without PC, provided You have a working TWRP. So instead of flashing the first carbon boot.img, just do the steps after step 7.
If i do this without PC my phone wouldnt have a inbuilt kernel recovery? And in reverse ?
This option is really important ? Steps 1-7 are for people who have blocked bootloader and they install software with cwm or twrp yea :3?
This CM 12 is final version not beta ?

If You had flashed the recovery to fotakernel (i.e. by process similar to this method) then You will retain Your recovery. The CM12 ROM kernel doesn't have inbuilt recovery.
Steps 1 to 7 are for people who don't have recovery.
All the steps require unlocked bootloader. You cannot install Kitkat or Lollipop ROM's on locked bootloader on Xperia S.
Current CM12 version is beta, there won't be a final version, as even CM is under development, Our device is not supported officially and new feature are always introduced.
Also, once You unlock bootloader, there is no need to unlock it again, even if You flash the stock firmware.
Thread starter asked for a stable rom. CM12 has a long way to go before being stable.
