I heard it had some battery issues, don't really know to what extent.
But to answer your question, no.
You still have full functionality of the s pen, yes.
There are minor battery issues.
I get about a day and a half of screen time and that's with the brighter screen mod.

And the modem/radio is part of the firmware. - I think the problem is that people are confusing firmware revisions with Android OS revisions. LJC LK8 MA5 are firware revisions for a specific phone. 4.1.0 4.1.1 4.1.2 are OS revisions of the Android software. The responses in this thread seem to indicate that they can be used interchangeably, when they can't.
This isn't official, right? If not any idea of when there will be an official update, if any?
4.1.2
I loved it, quick and smooth.
I'm running it. Not much big difference.

I am on an 8/20 build but there were 2. Not sure if there was any difference in the 2. To be fair I'm at work and our router here kinda sucks. But I've always been able to keep a connection. And I've never lost data like that. I'm gonna stay on the kernel and see if it's just some weird randomness that I am having the issue. If I keep having the issue ill grab a logcat and pass it along.
Sent from my SGH-T999 using Tapatalk 2
Good to see you here imoseyon.
What's the thermal throttling set to? I see a lot of thermal "alarms" in my logcat while running benches at 1.9GHz, at temps in the mid 50's (celsius), and it throttling back down to 1.1GHz. Happens a lot on Vellamo, and it actually makes the score at 1.9GHz lower than at 1.5GHz.
Perhaps the threshold can be safely increased?

Key Lime Pie delayed
Android 4.3 in the works
Now of course these are just rumors, so take it with a grain of salt. We will see what's fact and what is not at Google's event in May. But if all is true, I wonder when our GS3's will get this incremental JB update (seeing as we haven't even got 4.2.x yet). And now with the delay of KLP I'm wondering if our GS3's will get it
I remember reading somewhere that the gs3 might not receive klp and only quad core devices will, I'm pretty sure it's just a rumor though

Damn I sure hope so..
I think the S3 will get update up until KLP. By then with the S4 being out already and I'm sure the S5 around the corner, most would be upgraded by then. I'm thinking the S3 may not even get 4.2 but just skipped ahead to 4.3

I can agree that the S2 won't get it. But the S3 might, although with the S4 out and the S5 probably coming out next year, the S3 may not see it. Then again depends if it is pushed back again and how many upgraded from the S3 to the S4.

How is your UCAMH3 performance ?
unrooted and went and odin back to stock night before last (4.1.1)
yesterday morning had update 345mb turns out it gave me all the updates
at once from 4.1.1 to newest 4.1.2 i317ucamh3
by 9pm was at 68% left with 11hrs 18min straight on battery
with 2:42 screen time (38%)
for me battery life is better than it was on cleanrom for the past week
I think its possible new modem/kernal are finally a winning combo
signal and speeds seemed about same
i think i will leave it stock unrooted for a bit to see how it acts...
Mine seems to be a little stronger than it was before used to hover around -99-103dBm and 5-8 asu, right when it updated I seen -89dbm and 13asu but now it has leveled off to low -90s dBm.
A little yes...

Knox will bring some difficulties in terms of rooting, right? I'm hoping not but I have a feeling it will.
Knox and seLinux will make our lives more difficult. Confirmed. They've been dealing with it in the S4 forums and now the Note3 as well.
There are ways around as I understand, but no telling if they'll work on ours.

I have strong beliefs in Chain fire though lol he's a magical man. If we didn't have Chain fire with us, we'd have to go Nexus to root.
And not to mention AdamOutler he's also a beast as well.

Excellent waiting for T999:fingers-crossed:
Someone mind explaining how to get the update when it comes for a rooted phone?

OTA/Kies would be for normal unrooted stock users on 4.1.2
The majority of us will be waiting for someone to extract 4.3 and make a custom flashable ROM, it's been like this for all of the major updates we've had haha.

Yeah its pretty solid as is. I'm just OCD and cannot stand no tweaks and bloat on Touchwiz. I'm getting pretty good battery life and Wanam and Xposed are wonderful together. Not to mention the nice added ability to download content from Instagram and Vine.
