Hey guys
This is my first rom release. It's nothing special, just my daily use and I wanted to share it
I wanted a Xperia look like rom (with lockscreen and launcher) and because I couldn't find it (only for Ics ...and I hate ICS/JB rom's >.<"),made my own.
It's based on
- 2.3.4 with JVU baseband
- Semaphore Kernel JVQ 1.3.3 with OC to 1.2 GHz
- EDT tweak (for the lockscreen)
- Voodoo control
- zipaligned and deodexed
Tip - to use the Xperia lockscreen,in EDT use the StarWars option
Good battery life, good performance, stable and a very good GPS signal .Have fun with it

Good work but I would be grateful if you rebase it on JW8 with speedmod jw8 kernel.
OC can be done using tegrak over clock.

2.3.6 ROMs are a lot faster than 2.3.4. Xwjw8 + speedmod + 1.2 GHz oc is a very good combo to build on

what a surprise, there are still people working on gb. thank you friend the insurance prove I really like the style xperia
XXJVU is the last stock ROM where media server can index AAC/M4A coded audio.
Audio will work in Music player but Artist/Album is unrecognised.
Samsung bent off in patent war with aPple.

Speedmod is based on a newer sammy kernel. Jw8 kernel is a lot of faster than jw5 on which semaphore 2.7.4 is based.
You can also consider cf-root bgjw5 one, it is even newer than speed mod but slower.

Actually XXJW6 can read m4a too.
All ROMs starting with XX can read m4a, whereas those with XW can't.
I earlier had a Nokia phone through which I had downloaded huge amounts of original m4a songs and XXJW4/6 could read them while XWJW8 couldn't.

5th. I think
That's what we need but we need it as JW9 or 8.
I'm not the best coder and developer, but I'm learning...
So ...any1 knows where to find in a xml file or something to change the option of the lockscreen ?I wanna chnage the sound mode with camera apk, just like in Xperia roms
And I'm gonna release soon the 2.3.6 XperiaStyle JW8 so stay tuned. (now I''m at the testing faze - just bricked my phone a couple of times >.<)

Do you mean you want to change the focus and click sounds ?
Most probably, the files are under /system/media/audio/ui and named camera_xxxxx.ogg (two files)
Feel free to ask me if you need any help.
Also consider use Stock Gallery3D from CM7.2 instead of sammy one(sammy one is laggy and displays downscaled photos) in your next version - I dont know what you are using now, so sorry if you are already using that one.
I mean ,at the lockscreen you have to options.turn right you unlock, turn left you put your phone on silent
and I wanna change the silent part, with a camera app,so when you turn turn right you go directly to camera
just like xperia

Maybe integrating parts of MIUI 2.3's theme engine would help. MIUI has an xperia theme with the sliders you are talking about.
as I said... i'm not a dev or coder so I don't really know to much stuff
how do I do it?

Actually even I have no idea on how to do that.....I have tried many times but failed always .
I thought you would know better. Anyway, come to think of it , I feel you are better off without MIUI themer , cause it is a huge RAM hog.
Also , consider changing the icon of Videos app to the new XPERIA movies app icon(present in Xperia T/Z etc).
Thanks for this rom, it runs pretty good, I am using at the moment...
Waiting for an update to 2.3.6
Please try to add some customization like xperia widget, galerie, xperia theme for message and phone apps... every xperia stuff u can find
Thanks again for this rom, keep it alive, I'll give u a thank after posting my message
XperiaStyle ver2.3.6 closed until remake of the rom
Have a nice day

Here's my new rom
It's aim is no other than being a great rom out of the box, that you can fully customize to your likings using the addons provided in the second post. I'm going to be out for a month, but i'll mod the rom and create an app so that you can choose what to install and what you don't want to get installed with the app.
I've removed all Samsung things (or most, maybe i've missed one or two), but they are available in the Samsung APPS Addon. Addons are explained in the second post in more detail.
I've decided there's no poing in including all sgs ii things by default, since this not only can lead to freezes or problems, but you may not want all of it, therefore just install the addons you want.
Please do make suggestions, give a rating if you can and/or give feedback, thanks.
Here is a list of characteristics:
Adfree
mms no auto convert, no contact limit, sent time
3d blur fix
Appwidgetpicker
SIP
SGS II Digital clock widget + email app + email widget

Samsung stuff removed
Init.d support
Busybox
Bootanimation support
Overscroll glow
Browser should work fine, it may fc first time. its lagfree one from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1170365
Huge apn list (thanks cyanogenmod)
Multi-csc
Aosp clock and calculator
SGS II keyboard + aosp keyboard
SGS II memo
AOSP launcher (future version will be modded and much more optimized)
Extended power menu
Aosp lockscreen
Sms mod no auto conversion, 100 persons contact limit, sent time instead of received
Deodex
Zipaligned
OVerscroll glow
Battery %
Sip
Cf root for JVQ
Sdcard read/write speed increased
Juwes ram tweak
Droid 3 + sgs ii wallpapers available at sdcard/wallpapers (droid 3 + sgs ii)
Droid 3 theme (doesn't include icons for now)
Nexus S live wallpapers + microbes
Htc sense live wallpaper
And most important of all: it isn't full of a lot of crap that will make the rom get much slower than it should as time passes by
Many more things
How to install
Requirements:
Gb bootloaders
CWM
Instructions
Copy rom zip to sdcard
Enter cwm and install it. It'll reboot automatically when installation finishes
Let the phone speed up, it may take a few minutes. I recommend a reboot to make sure

Open the zip file and delete the ones you don't want installed. copy it to your phone and install it through cwm.
F.A.Q Will go here
other questions you might ask
Is performance better or the same as in JVQ?
Multitasking is much more fluid now, ram management should be better and it should be faster due to deleting all samsung apps and unneccesary apps
How stable is it?
As stable as samsung's rom, you shouldn't experience any FC's that you wouldn't get on stock jvq
What do you get in benchmarks?
55-56fps on neocore
Quadrant 1900 first run, second 2200 with lagfix enabled. This is without media.stagefright true
Do you recommend me to enable lagfix?
Yes

Looks promising and the features seem to make a lot of sense for a simple and usable daily ROM. I'll try it out soon.
What colour is the overscroll glow?
Thanks for uploading the screenshots. Whenever I see blue status bar icons it makes me uneasy as I think I read that the blue colour on the AMOLED is the fastest to degrade, and secondly that static icons can suffer burn-in, so blue would be a bad colour to choose. I actually prefer the android/gingerbread green themes and icons because they not only look nicer, but because of the pentile screen matrix in the SGS, they seem to be clearer and with better contrast.
What I'd really like to see is a JVQ based ROM that is as close to stock Android 2.3.4 as possible, and this is pretty good. That way we get Samsung optimisation under the hood (where the true AOSP ROMs fall down), but a clean finish. Adding apps and changing kernel is generally quite easy after that. If it's deodexed, should be trivial.
Thanks again for your work. I'm currently on totally stock JVQ (despite the sig) and liking it.

@everyone: Would you prefer clean GingerBread look or Samsung one?
Can you please make a totally fully gingerbread with no samsung crap not even TW3/4. Let people have the choice of having what evr they like over and above the stuff that google provides. Lets have it clean and as less no of app as possible. What I used to call a Naked rom in window 6/6.5

OS is nice and snappy
respectable benchmarks
big fan of nitrality - ty for inducing it
games run smoothly
Bad
haven't found a ext4 monitor/switcher
samsung keyboard - gb's is better?
2 soft reboots in 45mins
all in all - very promising
thanks

Thank you very much for your report,it seems here very few people rely on new devs
About the negative things:
-I think this is because semaphore kernel doesn't support ext4 but I'm not sure because I'm still studying how file systems work on SGS
-In next version I'll include also GB keyboard then!
-Yeah I noticed this problem, but only on 1.0,I don't know why though I'll try to investigate a bit more
Thank you again,I hope to realize a stable and good rom for everyday usage!

Hmm it could be a good start point I also found that vm heap size was modified in build.prop, and was 32MB instead of 48MB,maybe there's no memory enough for the vm to run! That could be the problem,I'm going to test right now
1.2 is out! And the ROM is out of the beta stage!

What's the huge difference between this and the stock FB17?
Congrats on tackling dev work!
New devs are always welcome 'round these parts.

Actually this sounds right up my alley. I love the TouchWiz contacts app. I like sliding to left and right to do what I want, but everything I like the ICS version of.
A nice Hybrid AOSP/TouchWiz ROM will do very well here I think. I'll be watching this one.
not flaming or anytging man. I really appreciate more and more people building roms dude so thanks. but ot would be nice to have the modem in a seperate zip on this page. that way if we already have it we dont need to flash it. but thanks man.
^^Really....you dont want the modem included. .. great work just flashed great so far loving you took out TW!

no I dont personally because it could cause problems if its a bad flash. notice every other rom out there besides tar files have it as a seperate. flash. must be a reason dont you think. also if someone wanted to say have theirek02 modem cuz it works better. they have to reinstall it. just added steps. new modems sont always work the best especially if it a leaked modem. imho

Tomorrow is computer exam , so no tension BTW this ROM is not my work , and it doesnt take much time to post a thread.
Great find OP!
Just flashed and applied updates. So far it's a very impressive ROM. The Sony apps seem to work without issues and the overall rom is smooth and responsive.
Here is a best Xperia Wallpaper , Cosmic Flow , which missing from this ROM.
I also have the Live Cosmic Flow wallpaper extracted from Sony ROM , but that is very laggy , so I didnt upload.
Thanks for posting. I really like the look of this ROM. It looks really modern and fresh, unlike most other ROM's on here that look dated, boring and virtually the same (not really the devs fault). My biggest problem with custom ROM's has always been battery life. Unfortunately, custom ROM's are nowhere near as good at conserving battery life as stock ROM's. If this ROM doesn't eat up battery like almost all the others, I will definitely be installing it. I'll be watching for feedback over the next few day's.
PS; I wish some devs would just pull stock firmware from phones and make them compatable with our phones, instead of customising them, which inevitably leads to lot's of bugs and poor battery consumption.

You can try the other Xperia Style v2 I posted just now , its newer and based on 4.2.2 - Link
These ROMs will consume more battery than vanilla AOSP ROMs due to more customizations.
Missing shortcuts after reboot
After playing with this for a few hours, it's still impressing with how well it works. It's a bit early to tell how well battery life will hold up, but so far it's not different from other modded roms.
One problem that has come up is that some of the home screen shortcuts keep getting deleted on reboot. I've tried fixing permissions, but no luck.
So can I part this. I know I can I just need permission

Small F.A.Q
Q: I got some f/c apps, random reboots, crashing, lags etc..
A: CM10.1 isn't as stable as CM10 yet, so that bugs are possible, no fix for that. This ROM is as good as CM10.1 allow.
Q: Wi-fi/Bluetooth does not work!
A: Flash kernel from zip before installation.
Q: What about CPU settings?
A: ROM is balanced for the best performance on Interactive, and better battery life on Smartassv2 and Ondemand.
Q: Is it support 720p recording?
A: No, because of it JB runs very smooth.
Q: I got bootloop. After instalation ROM doesn't boot.
A: Go to recovery and wipe anything, install ROM again.
Q: Where are developer settings?
A: Go to settings>about phone and tap 7 times on build number.
Downloading on my nexus s right now very excited

gonna give this a shot... my NS4G feels like its almost dead lol... what is the difference with SuperLiteGAPPS?

ROM feels good so far... not a fan of all that Xperia stuff... but at least the option to remove them with something like TitaniumBackup is still there
one thing i noticed, i wasn't getting a signal... then i looked in settings and realized i flashed Crespo ROM on my Crespo4G... thought i made a mistake so came here to download 4G and noticed I clicked on the correct one in the OP but the links are reversed... so anyone downloading, be sure you download the correct ROM

wow, this ROM with Matr1x 24.5 CM kernel i managed to get 174mb free RAM... and even just normal useage, i'm around 100-120mb free... any other ROM, it would be around 20-50mb maybe...
a few bugs tho...
1) Roaming Indicator Off is on the pulldown instead of saying "Sprint"
2) 4G doesn't work or even have a setting in the menu for it. it also FC's if i try to go to it from the toggles.

do you have a custom kernel that you OC'd? usually my phone only gets hot from OC'ing and extreme use of the services like GPS, data, etc at the same time
The ROM runs great, smooth and snappy. However, it should be worth noting there is no 4G.
