Hello, I have a Nokia 5800 which I use for listening to music. I want to buy the Samsung Galaxy i5800, but seeing as listening to music is the primary thing I will be using this phone for, I gotta ask: Does Samsung Galaxy i5800 have something like the Nokia HS-45 headset adapter? Since I'm a new user i cannot post a picture, but if you google images for Nokia HS-45 you'll see what i mean. Does Samsung Galaxy i5800 have anything similar to this device?
this?
you can use this with our phone
Can that be used on the Samsung? I mean, do the play/pause/stop/back/forward buttons work?
Hmm
I am also looking for something similar.
I still can't find a headset adapter with working play/stop/backward/forward buttons. Any help is appreciated. Tried several Nokia headsets, sound works, but controls don't.
Can the music on Samsung i5800 even be controlled with a headset?
I use this bluetooth earphones in which all the buttons works flawlessly:
http://shopping.rediff.com/product/bluedio-av890-stereo-a2dp-bluetooth-headset/10616877
But don't expect the sound quality to be good with its bundled earphones. Changing the earphones makes the sound a bit better.
i have both nokia 5800 and samsung galaxy 3.... the nokia 5800 headset cannot control the music on g3...
i use nokia bh-214 stereo bluetooth adapter... it can play/pause and fwd/back on the g3.... and the bundled earphones are quite good.... you can even plug any other earphones on it if you want...

Yes, there are such adaptors. You'll find tons of them on ebay. The great thing about the Note is that both Samsung/Nokia and iPhone/HTC adaptors ( and handsfree earphones ) will work on it.
It's pretty cool how they managed to achieve the ultimate earpiece compatibility for the Note.
The compatibility is not 100 % for iphone model cables.
I have not succeeded in making the volume button work on the galaxy not, the mic is okay though.
the point is i don't want to waste money on adapters just to find out they will not work
after some reading i stumbled upon the sony ericsson mw-600, which is compatible with the note
I have a pair of klipsch s4i headphones that work fine on my galaxy nexus (with exception of the volume buttons). On my att galaxy s3, the microphone doesn't work, the other party or recorded only hear silence.
It's this standard? If I get an "android specific" headset like the s4a are th get look Kelly to work fine?

I have the Etymotic Research HF2 and it's working fine.
I have the premium iphone in-ear buds (that unfortunately are no longer sold) Microphone is not working at all.
I had this same issue with my galaxy s 1... I had to get a special adapter to use iphone type earphones...
I have similar problem. I have Monster Jamz with ControlTalk. I used it with iPhone4, Galaxy S1 andS2. It worked fine on both (except the volume control on S1, S2). I recently upgraded to S3 (i747m Canadian version), and the Mic doesn't work at all. The bundled samsung earbuds works just fine. argh....
Hello, first time posting a thread here,
I have a problem with my headphones for samsung galaxy s2, mine official headphones were broken, so i decided to buy another ones..
I bought headphones for s2, they work, but sound is horrible.. On some tracks i cant hear vocals, sometimes bass, and i always hear noise, so i guess they arent working properly..
I also tried my brothers headphones for samsung galaxy s3 mini, and mums for samsung galaxy ace, and any other headphone, and sound remains the same...
I am currently on version 4.1.2 Android, and I would like to know if there is solution for this, its really driving me crazy...
Thanks

Buy quality headphones/earphones.
These one are 20 euro and really good: CM Storm Pitch
Specs:
Headphone:
Driver: 10mm driver
Frequency Response: 10Hz-20KHz
Impedance: 16Ω
Connector: 3.5mm headphone jack
Cable Length: 1.2m
Microphone:
Pick-up Pattern: Omni-Directional
Frequency Response: 70 Hz – 10000 Hz
Sensitivity: -42 ± 3dB (0dB = 1V/pa.1KHz)
Signal to Noise Ratio: 58dB or more
And above all, they look badass
i think that is a hardware problem, not a software. so even if you change your 4.1.2 you will see that problem again.
my opinion is to check samsung original headphones, borrow from your friend if any of them have sgs2. and if that doesn't work then i think it's the headphone jack.
my earphone, also with this problem
now would like to invest in something better klipsch s4 type II
Could someone point me somewhere where I can buy a genuine klipsch s4 II and send it to Brazil??
thanks!!!
I had a very bad sound with the original Samsung headphones which came with my device. After I have lost them, I bought genuine Samsung Galaxy S2 replacement headphones and they look a bit different and are much better.

Go for Jays.
Swedish design, solid construction, flat cables and amazing sound.
Couldn't buy any in-ear better headphones really
have you tried with different headphones?

bit pricey, I'll rather buy a 7.1 surround headset instead of those. (the most expensive is 199 euro, wtf)
A 7.1 headset is ~140 euro

A headset is still 2.0, no matter what.You don't have 7 speakers around you.Surround is just a virtualizer/effect.
For those type of money you can get really good Sennheiser/AKG's.Don't go for beats, jays(what the ****), etc.Sennheiser/AKG/Audio Technica should be in your price range, and for that type of money you can get some really good headphones.

I completely forgot about Pioneer, thanks for that.Worth to note too, anything rated like above 18khz is probably unreal as you won't be actually able to hear past that(the human limit is 20khz but I've never seen a track that has this high frequency in it).HDJ-500 are probably good bang for your buck if you want to go without inear's and yet have noise cancelling headphones. They are pretty good although the ear cushions are a bit small, atleast for me and my Dumbo ears.
These should be perfect

Also worth mentioning, the S3 headset is pretty damn good if you want to go cheap. It's like 10 euros and is highly recommended by me.I also had Sony MDR-EX10's and they are pretty solid too, although I've had mine replaced two times as the wires are dodgy(too thin) and tend to get yanked out.Good quality though, 8/10 would recommend.
So I have a Samsung Galaxy Note II and it doesn't seem to work with my unbranded headphones (which do work). Is it because the headphones have to be Samsung to be compatible with their phones? Why is this, and is there a way around this?
I was thinking of getting some high quality over-ear headphones, however I'd obviously like them to work with my phone too! Any help appreciated!!
It doesn't have to be.

I've been using Apple EarPods for weeks (just got the Note 2) and it doesn't have any problem. Does the original Samsung earphones the only thing works on your device?
I regularly use Beyerdynamic DT250 headphones which have a 3 pole minijack, and recently purchased a pair of soundmagic e10c which has a 4 pole minijack, both work flawlessly, before that I was using xiaomi piston.
Do you have the original Samsung Note II Cover Protection Shell? It allows only for very slim headphone minijacks. Most headphone plugs are to wide behind the threepole, thus they do not enter the headphone jacket far enough. Try Your headphones without the Samsung Cover Case. If they work, then widen the entry of the Cover Case with a pair of Scissors or something similar.
