Hi
I've just received a Galaxy Nexus Sprint from someone who didn't want it anymore and seeing as how I live in the Netherlands.
Is there a way for me to mod the hardware in a way that the phone will receive a normal sim card?
TIA
no. sprint phones work only on sprint.
So is there anyone from the netherlands who might know how to get this phone working?
And if not, is anyone interested in a Galaxy Nexus Sprint

I too did the same and it works just fine. I am curious about my plan though. I still have the unlimited Data plan. I had the Captivate and got an iPhone 4 in trade for something. I switched to it until the Nexus came out.
I had to call AT&T and have them change my plan so that the iPhone would get data. When I got my Nexus I just put the sim in an adapter and have service with Data. Interestingly my phone shows up as a Captivate again at the AT&T website. Anyone familiar with AT&T plans to tell me what plan I should be on now?
Hello I just bought an unlocked samsung galaxy nexus GT-I9250 and I have a couple of questions #1 has anyone successfully registered their galaxy nexus with samsung. If so I need help. I found the serial number and typed it in along with the purchase date it tells there is an error. #2 does anyone know where to download the drivers for the unlocked galaxy nexus? please give me a link. And last #3 is there some apn I need to put in to get the phone to connect to AT&T's HSPA+ network. Please help. this is my first nexus phone.
1) I can't answer because I imported mine.
2) Here are the drivers. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=20058157&postcount=1
3) I'm on T-Mobile so I don't know for sure but, I believe you have to call them to provision HSPA+
You can't register it with Samsung.
am i supposed to register it. if so then who?

They're Beta because they're universal. There's official drivers that are specifially for the Galaxy Nexus, but they're tricky to install if you're not familiar with computers.
As for your first question, I tried, couldn't either. Doesn't really matter though, as I called them up for a warranty repair (got some water in the power button) and when asked for my IMEI number, they knew the day it was purchased and shipped.

You don't have to register it with anyone.

You don't need to register the phone, all warranty claims can be made through Google, just tell them the Checkout Account you used to purchase the phone. AT&T will need to provision you a "4G" plan, which requires the IMEI of an AT&T "4G" phone. Go in store and they should be able to use a floor model or some unit that they have laying around back, don't bother calling Customer Service, they won't know what to do. No fancy APNs to deal with, just crap AT&T mobile registration (even for prepaid).

I have a 2 gig plan that I got when I upgraded to the inspire and never saw HSPA+ not even in settings. I saw on YouTube a video and a guy had gotten an LTE plan. But I tried changing my plan online but seeing how att doesn't recognize the phone I couldn't. Do I need to try an lte plan? I have been places that supposedly have HSPA+ but was always on hsdpa and att said "HSDPA is more enhanced version of HSPA+" which I know isn't true.

You do not have an LTE phone.

I know that I'm not stupid. I'm just wandering why I never get HSPA+. I didn't get it when I had an inspire 4g and i still don't get it with the galaxy nexus. I still have HSDPA. And I've gotten HSDPA where there is supposedly "4G" for example Atalanta.
I have the Tmobile/walmart monthly 4g 100min/unlimited data plan and have the Galaxy Exhibit phone.
I want to get a Galaxy Nexus from the play store but I am not sure how I would get the new phone working on my plan.
Is it as simple as taking the sim out of my Exhibit and putting it in the Galaxy Nexus?
Do I need to somehow activate the nexus?
would the nexus inherit my phone number?
I really dread the thought of calling some support line and having them mess with my service, I have read a lot of storys about people getting on the wrong plan and not being able to get it fixed.
With the recent price drop the galaxy nexus is hard to resist, I just dont know what hassles I might have to deal with, any help would be appreciated.

The only support stuff you might need to do is exchange your sim card for a newer one if you have a really old sim card

The beauty of GSM phones is that you can swap sims all day long from phone to phone or from service provider to service provider. It should also inherent the phone number as well.
In short, yes. you should be able to swap the sim without any phone calls to t-mobile. The only thing that you'd need to do on your end is login to your google account on the new phone. *Edit: Forgot about what harveydent noted in his post about old sims. But that should be a quick call to t-mobile and a day or two wait. Not really much to fret about.
The only time it might not work is if the phone you are getting is locked to a certain carrier and that phone didn't have the frequencies available to operate on your network. This is NOT a problem on unlocked phones like the galaxy nexus however since it is unlocked and it has all the frequencies (pentaband) needed to operate on both t-mobile and AT&T.

I was hoping it would be that easy, thank you.
as for the sim, I bought the phone in march I think, so the sim is not old.
off to the play store I go
It will work fine, there's no need to do anything, that's exactly what I did. And what an upgrade it is from the Exhibit II! Enjoy!
The title says it. I'm planning on buying a Verizon Galaxy Nexus but I need to know if it will work in India. And if the data will also work. Any help will be appreciated, thanks.

What Ur doing is like trying to make a pound of ice last for an hour in desert on it's own.
Would be neat though.

If I have helped you.... hit that sexy thanks button. ^_^
You may be able to flash it to a CDMA carrier in india. I seen someone roam in India with a Verizon gnex, so I'm pretty sure it works. Someone had also flashed a sprint gnex to a India CDMA carrier.
Now I have no idea how these flashing stuff works.
Will the next nexus have a longer screen?

I am looking at getting a Samsung Galaxy Nexus SCH-I515 but want to run it on Boost Mobile. The reading I have done is contradictory (can activate any cdma phone and Verizon is excluded) I was just hoping someone here could give a definitive (ish) answer. Can this phone be activated through boost? BTW customer service was semi unclear to me as well, saying information that is contradicted in their own Web page... Which is why I am here. Thanks in advance.
If its anything like using Virgin Mobile, I had to "trick" the phone into thinking that it was a different device. I know that a few mom and pop shops around will do the work for you. My friend has an AT&T phone running on Net10, which is basically the same network.

I haven't decided whether to take a chance or not. I might just get an approved device (seems to be what the company wants anyways) I'll try to let you guys know. Thanks again.
