Hi guys. Some of you may know me im one of the devs behind RCB, CM SER, Meta Widget, SwitchMe and a bunch of other cool apps.

There have been reports of lag issues on this device (though we have one at the office and it works fine on ours). Please help us fix this issue!
In the second post there are some questions that need to be dealt with, so look there for what we need to work on.
The PR:

And do offer suggestions for shapes and effects and whatever else you can think of
Issues and questions - please quote this post in your answer:
- If youre experiencing lag on the stock free themes, describe your environment (rom, launcher, undervolting of gpu etc)
- Would you be interested in testing out a special non-scrolling version of the app for this device? This would be optionsl - just a check-box that will disable offsets
- Any other issues you encounter
Lets see if we cant fix this damned thing!
I'm using BakedRom 4.2.1 - nova launcher prime - no undervolting or clocking anything, using AK purity v15, have set on 3 homescreens - and I do expirience, not just a little bit - but more like moderate lags when scrolling over screens ... Tried with "Tablet" homescreen animation and without it, but did not make much difference ...
ANd what happens when you disable the "scrolling lines" animation?

anyway is good graphic work.

I wanted sprint clock for my xperia 'cause with my modern phone look flip clock seems boring...
No success in my search, so I started hacking myself using the fabulous 6Fg8's manila mode 9 editor (still work in progress but very usefull)
As my development depends for maximum part on this editor, expect progress when more features become available. Thanks 6Fg8
My goals are:
- integrate the original sprint clock in manilaHD instead of flipclock
- Get rid of top bar (operator logo ecc)
- Shift up all indicators on home to have more room
- Add more appointments / tasks / whatever else to home
Progress:
01/10/09 - Initial release
Status:
- Top bar deleted
- All indicators are shifted up
- Quick & dirty workaround to eliminate 1pixel horizontal line in middle of numbers, still flipclock
Bugs:
- Bottom down arrow too low, have to find how to shift up
- Poor clock animation, no fix until real sprint clock

No wishlist for now, as there is enough work to complete

Promising! I would like a clock without the line, though the animation isn't really a problem to me. Will you be making seperate files? Also, what could cause the animation to slow down? I find that a rather odd side effect for shifting the lower part of the clock for 1px.
script are embedded in manila m9 file and also are stored in a separate lua file... Both are unknown and the clock animation can't be fixed for now.
Multiple file for what? All these changes are stored in only 1 manila file, once all has discovered I will make different file for different layput
Penguin Background and Font
Can you please post your Penguin Background for download.
Aslo, what font did you use and how did you change it?

Guap,
Thank you vey much, it is greatly appreciated.
simple and elegant, nice font by the way. I wouldn't mind trying this.
I actually don't mind the flip clock panels, it would actually look quite nice on your theme but in the sony ericsson green but in kinda glossy style.
regardless, looks good so far.
nice!!
next rel.?
waiting new editor, for nex step hex editing is too complicated to make by hand
Nice. I´m happy that somebody removed that ugly 1pixel horizontal line in middle of numbers.
I will realy appreciate if you can post the manila file with only this modification. Only with the removed 1pixel horizontal line.
I deleted that file as it was a very brutal quick&dirty workaround. anyway now shouldn't be complicated to do with m9editor, just shift up or down by 1 pixel the "clock3d" group
working for next release, but as far as I go deep in manila I discover what kind of mess it is
That looks really nice.
nice work, looks good
So, what's the status on this ambitious project?
stopped due inability to decrypt some lua scripts. Need to wait our developers for even more powerful editors
Heh. And then there's always the Manila2 issue!
lol, spoken too early I did it

change log:
+ you can move counter down from 0 to 255 pixels (to set it at desired height)
+ result is saved into db every ~0.25m
+ better aproximation for different than 240dpi - should be universal now
+ optimized size, now only 25.8KB (not necessary graphics was removed)
PS. Still tested only on GSG2, the rest working phones you can find in comments of this thread.
Very interesting Idea I'm surprised nobody as replied in the post.
I'll give it a try and see if i can think of any ideas to improve and add to it
Thanks for sharing your work
Thank you for any fedback,
I would like to see how it "counts" on other phones and dpi resolutions
I have SGS2, 240dpi and it counts quite well (with my approximations for SGS2)
I think there will be needed some more calibration for other phones,
but we'll see
Thanks!
V.
I am finishing my day with result as follows:
How about you?
From my firsy day impressions I am thinking about additional:
- history
- charts
- suprises after predefined distances (100m, 1000m, 42km! and etc.)
- self choosen image as a background
- on/of switch for background scrolling
Thanks for all feedback!
V.
I'm curious as to whether or not this might be better as a widget; it might cut down on CPU/battery usage, but I'm no expert. It's a great idea though, I bet we'd all be surprised just how far our finger travels...
Would love to see it as a widget too! Live Wallpaper is a bit tricky 'cause we like our wallpapers too much, to remove them "forever". Great idea & great job on this one!
On my todo list so far I have put (prq order):
- more fonts
- possibility to change location of "counter"
- calibration
- widget ( it need completly new code )
- suprises after predefined distances (100m, 1000m, 42km! and etc.)
- self choosen image as a background
- on/of switch for background scrolling
- history
- charts
- check with non standard launchers
That is a really neat idea!
Great work mate.. Will thank you

Greetings!
V.
PS. As it the first apk was initial it has no db saving function so You will loose your stats, but from v01 it will be stored in db so resistant for reinstallation, this db will be later used for more detailed stats.
Finger trail would be cool to add to this.maybe make the font huge to so it's not so plain. And what about user wallpapers?

Let me first start by saying that this is NOT my original work, the rom is largely based on Pure Bugless Beast by Peter Alfonso. I am taking no credit for the original and fully understand that the majority of this is his intellectual property. I merely added some of my own touches to "spice" it up for those who love stock, but want a few useful mods as well. Also, I would like to say that this rom is 70% for me and 30% for you the users lol. This is my personal rom that I cooked up for myself and decided that I would share it with the public. So, please do not go hog-wild with requests and asking me to change stuff. I will definitely entertain changes/enhancements, but I would rather not be badgered by them. This rom is extremely stable and I am loving it, so I hope you enjoy!
Normal disclaimer about how flashing a rom can be dangerous for your phone and such. Please always perform a backup before flashing any of my work (or anything really). If you some how mess up your phone it's your fault, not mine. You are not allowed to sue me, all you'd get would be student loans anyways.
THANKS
-Huge thanks to Peter Alfonso for this fantastic rom!

I would consider running this, if you were able to implement color customization of soft keys and clock. Such as found on AOKP. IF you were so kind as to put this on your to do list??

So far so good.... anyone know how to get the regular recent apps (vertical) list back? TIA!
Out of curiosity would there be anyway to replace the search button with a menu button?

It's definitely possible and shouldn't be too difficult, however, it may have some redundancy between the way ICS handles menu's now unless that was taken care of with it.
Hello Xda'ers,
After trying many many ROMS for my Galaxy SII, I have decided that the S3mods V2.1 is the right one for me. The theming is good, installed apps are few, and the battery life is the best i've tried so far. This ROM has been dropped for sometime now, many people as well as myself like this ROM and would enjoy updating its interfaces, mods and apps, so I decided to start a thread in which I will share with all of you what I have tested, done and how, relieving all of you of many failed boots, soft bricks, and all sorts of troubles. I will credit each piece to it's developer, and will post finds, bugs, and workarounds.

Custom Lockscreen Backgrounds works fine, but you have to set it through: Settings->Display->Lock screen wallpaper.

The way I kinda figured it out, is.....there is a point in which the UI lets you choose which app to crop the image, try mix and matching using gallery selects the image and which crops.
I use a black mesh background to maximize battery life.
Paul
i can't enable the ripple lock screen, help
Will try this soon and report back how it worked out.
Ty mate.
thx for the thread, waiting for the link
This week i'll get it done with other goodies....just been overwhelmed with work..
PD
Looks good, try it.
worked like a charm thx
Testing a couple of goodies....stay tuned.
I will be changing or closing this thread soon....Samsung has released their new Jelly Bean ROM for the SII than has even features not yet available for the SIII. It literally turns your SII into an SIII so, this thread is now obsolete. Since that ROM is infant and doesnt yet support Kernels and such, I plan on trying different things out, and stuff to better it anyhows.
Cheers,
Paul

Q2: "Whats the difference between Kubo kernel and AK kernel?"
A2: The Rubik kernel is -
-Compiled with Linaro and O3 as for AK Kernel
-Removed High Performance Sound and Headphone Volume Boost
-Removed ZRAM and Swap
-Contrast setted to -14
-Builded from ak-4.2.2-official-mainline branch in title's date

HALO FAQs
1. it disappears after tapping the button in the shade. yes. its supposed to. it comes up when there is something to report. the empty bubble you have seen in the oode video was an early built, this one doesn't show the empty state.
2. the last message stays. well obviously. if you read what we wrote today, this is in phase two. if i hide it just for this alpha i will have to remove/retouch that code later on when it becomes a notification switcher that simply must be present on the screen. the X is meant for situations you dont want to respond to notifications.
3. it does not react for this and that situation. it simply reacts to the regular ticker, the one you know from the statusbar. ticker has its own rules implemented by google as to not tax the user too much. HALO reacts every time androids generates a genuine tick.
if it doesnt repond at all, not even to your touch you have some crazy hacky stuff installed. get rid of that!!! TOUCH CONTROL, kernels that mess with responsiveness and overlays, etc.
4. it duplicates behavior. it does not. its the notification shades missing half. shade is a hub/aggregator for things accumulating, you get through that whenever you find time. HALO is for responding to tasks on the spot or later switching between onging tasks. thats why it sits in the notification shade, see it as notifications made alive.
5. no intergation in tabUI and PIE. yes. first it gets completed by reaching a stable, then comes integration.
6. The install button-gate. Google disables that button as a security measure to prevent apps from installing stuff via overlay/virtual click. without it apps could install trojans without your interaction. HALO is an overlay. no way we could have seen that - although im not sure if switching it off is the right thing.
7. speech bubbles can look garbled (on nexus7 for instance)- resolution differences. must find a way to calculate the bubble with a nine patch drawable.
