Dock keyboard or case keyboard with slope screen regulation? - Galaxy Note 10.1 Accessories

Hi
Is there any dock keyboard or case keyboard with slope screen regulation (like in Asus Transformer)?
Next important thing is to can use camera with this dock/case.

That's what I'm looking for, doesn't have to necessarily be a case for me but want something it snaps into so it's sturdy in the lap and stays propped up

I have looked seriously hard to find this and I could never come up with anything. I wanted to buy a transformer, but my sole purpose in a ten inch tab was for handwritten notes, so the transformer failed the test in that regard. The best you are going to find, I think given my searches, are using a bluetooth keyboard with a folding stand case. That's all I could find.

Hopefully one of these days samsung releases their keyboard for the US version, I think the tablet snaps into it but doesn't fold up like the asus

Transformer it isn't a good choice.
Trust me I had it... Of course Asus make a lot of updates but there are a lot of bugs too.
Strange, because Samsung love to make money on accessories and we have only some good dock for ipad and exactly transformer.

Any news about this case?

Another Bluetooth Keyboard Solution
So because I'm new here I cant post any new links, but if you go on amazon and type this "ANS1IN-BB0" into the search bar you should find the Zagg Bluetooth Folio Case for 10 inch tablets. I'm not sure if it covers any needed ports, but it would definitely cover the S-Pen. But with tablet design most keyboard docks cover the S-Pen anyway considering its on the bottom of the device. It basically gives any 10 inch tablet a clamshell "laptop" profile.

I find some seller in my country (Indonesia) that sell this product.
Other than that, it's discontinued
EDIT:
I find this, but the price is outrageous.

Asus Phonepad X Keyboard
I found this possible option for a bluetooth keyboard with slope control. Of course I think it would be too loose for the GT-N8000. But with some modification, maybe a little padding on the inside, I think the GT-N8000 would fit inside it just fine. The other problem would be that it covers the charging port, but if that doesn't bother you and if you're willing to do a bit of modifying then this could be a good solution. Once Again, I'm not allowed to post links, but i'm sure you can look it up. Its the Asus Padphone X Mobile Dock. Its a Bluetooth keyboard that the tablet fits inside of, but it doesn't have any of the ports that most Asus Transformer Keyboards have.

Looking for a keyboard for my Tab. Not sure which is best...

I've been looking at the Samsung Keyboard dock, Logitech Bluetooth keyboard at BestBuy, and the Motorola Xoom keyboard.
I'm still not sure which is a better buy, and which one will work best for me.
I was using the Android on screen keyboard, but it no longer vibrates after installing the TouchWiz update.

did you check that haptic feedback is enabled? You have to check the configuration of whatever keyboard you're using (it's under settings--language and input--configure input methods--[select the keyboard you're using, i suspect it's the default samsung keyboard].

It's selected. I've tried numerous times of turning it on and off. Seems to be some type of bug within TouchWiz that keeps it from working. It works in a few other keyboards I have installed, but the Android keyboard will no longer vibrate.

Loitech keyboard! I love it battery life seems great, had it for 3 weeks. Its less than the Samsung one and uses bt so it will work with other devices. Comes with a nice protective case / stand.
The Samsung Bluetooth Keyboard Case is now available on their site for the 10.1. You can ask to be notified when available. They said it will be available in the next couple of weeks. If you google, you will see some CNET reviews that give you better pictures. It is supposedly as thin as the notebook case. I just hope it does not have the same flaws as the notebook case. I am returning mine tomorrow. The case seems to allow for easy depression of the power button. I am constantly turning the tablet on/off. I will pick it up, lift the flap, and find the device is booting back up. Not very helpful at all!
The samsung bluetooth keyboard/case looks the best so far. Of course its not out yet. Personally I want a keyboard that has capabilities of charging my tab, kinda like the asus keyboard. Anyway way to extend my battery life!!
I may have missed out on all the Touchpad craziness, but I did pick up a closeout Touchpad bluetooth keyboard from Office Depot for $25+tax using a Staples coupon from here. They had it priced at $69.99 in-store, but their website has it at $29.99 on clearance so just ask for a price adjustment.
It's a really nice feeling chiclet keyboard, about the size of the Apple Bluetooth, and uses AA vs. AAA so I expect good battery life. Some of the function keys don't seem to work (brightness, power, not sure about media) but the top left works as ESC and the Control keys do what they're supposed to, and it works great with Connectbot so I'm happy.

I looked at the logitech and samsung keyboards.
I chose the logitech.
I didn't want to have to remove my tab from its case to use a keyboard. Thats one of the reasons i ditched the asus.
I like the keyboard shortcuts on the logitech, and i like that i can use it with my home theater pc.
The samsung seems too expensive for a non wireless keyboard imo.
Besides, its just a rehash of the old tab keyboard.
are you guys talking about the zagg keyboard or the Logitech one with the little plastic stand. I'm waiting on the zagg one up for preorder on Logitech. Com

I keep my tab in the case as well. I agree, I don't think I want to keep taking my tab in and out of the case to use the keyboard.
I've been keeping my eye on the LogiTech keyboard. So far I'm starting to use Thumb Keyboard more.

The zagg case just arrived today, got two shipped to NZ (one for my gf) and i have to say im very impressed with it.
They claim several weeks battery life of normal use(not sure how that compares to alternatives). though it charges through micro usb along with most new phones.
its very light, but also feels solid at the same time, the keys feel similar to the asus transformer dock but they are definitely more responsive.
although they state on their website that it has poor compatibility with the 10.1 in portrait mode i think it works quite well, stands fine and doesn't feel like falling over at all.
it has raised rubber feet on top of the metal so you can lie your tablet down ontop of dock without worrying about damaging it.
it has all the shortcuts you need, including full music control, android function key. escape takes you to home screen while the back key is placed where right alt is on a normal keyboard.
all in all, very nice dock of solid build that weighs less then the tablet for $69.99
Edit: its also bluetooth, so no need to take tab out of its case.
Anyone know how to fix the problem of the onscreen keyboard popping up with any of them? It gets annoying.

Closest thing would probably be the Logitech Keyboard Case. I grabbed one a couple weeks ago and I'm pretty happy with it. It has some good shortcut keys and it's spacious enough that I haven't had any trouble typing on it. It's basically a bluetooth keyboard with a built-in stand and raised edges that hold the Tab in place face-down when you're not using it.
This one is pretty sweet

I did some research into this and found a keyboard combining zagg and logitech...
Its not bad...a bit pricey.

Im still searching (and waiting patiently) for someone to make a keyboard that turns the Tab 10.1 into a folding netbook like the transformer.
Someone please!

Hi all,

The pic seems to be of the smaller n7000 version of the pen holder and seems unclear that it comes with both the holder and active stylus.
I would really like a larger pen. Does anyone have any additional info?

I have this one and would not recommend it. It is the original one they made when they first released the phone version of the Note. Although the pen makes a big difference to using the phones small S-pen, there is a button on the side of the holder that gets pressed unless you hold it a particular way and causes your writing flow to stop.
The way it works is that you place the small S-pen inside this holder which aligns itself with the button and then you just twist the holder into place. It does come with a spare S-pen, the one made for the original Note.
If you want a full sized pen, you should go for any Wacom pen enabled pens that also have the eraser on the end, the eraser works well with S-note and other apps that support the eraser function. It may also be a good idea to order different tips and depending on your preference, use the one that suits your usage patterns.
Do you have a link for one you recommend?

You can have a read through arjag's other thread to get recommendations, I have the one for the Lenovo x61t which works well however I have not yet tried other tips yet which I will do, the original ones,I tend to find are not as smooth as the one fitted on the new S-pen of the Note 10.1.

Thanks for the comments everyone.
I was really hoping that Samsung had actually released a pen holder kit that fitted and came with a n8000 replacement stylus.
As mentioned I my other thread, I am too disappointed in the performance of the Lenovo pen to use it.

Um, how would you write when you are on a call?
How about just using a BT headset as a BT headset and the pen as a pen?
This seems like a gimmick to me with few practical uses.
Hi,
I agree that the bt pen seems to be a gimmick too. After using a dual mic (dsp) headset there is no going back. I am very happy with my Plantronics Voyager Pro.
It really does seem there is no such thing as a "Galaxy Note 10.1" S Pen holder kit and Samsung are just trying to get rid of un sold ones.
I think this is a bit rude of Samsung!
Does anyone know where to get the propper replacement S Pen for the N80xx?
Edit: Scratch that, through samsung's site of course http://www.samsung.com/us/mobile/galaxy-tab-accessories/ETC-S1G2BEGXAR

Keyboard that lets you charge...

Looking for a good keyboard/cover for my Note 10.1 that lets me use the docking connector (charge/OTG while typing) but so far nearly everyone one I've seen has the note rest flush against the bottom of the case so I cant access the port. Is there one on the market that keeps the note raised up enough to use the connector without turning the note upside-down (which makes the wake/volume buttons and the headphone jack inaccessible)

That's what I do, too. Also, I have the Samsung Book Cover and the Note fits in the dock with it on.
I only wished I'd've bought more than one of these when I had the chance: Motorola Wireless Keyboard and Trackpad. It's perfect for traveling (I keep one in a keepcase that I carry the note around in). It's thin, has a cover that doubles as a stand, integrated trackpoint mouse and charges via MicroUSB. Picked up one on sale for $40 and haven't seen it that cheap since.
I had a galaxy tab 8.9 and still have the original Samsung keyboard dock. If you take out the black plastic insert (it pops out along the top edge), the Note10.1 fits in relatively well with the bookcase cover still on. The extra thickness of the cover actually works pretty well to support the tab given that the custom insert isn't in there.
Not perfect, but you can still pick up keyboard docks for the 8.9 or 7 relatively cheaply on Amazon. ($30 less than perfect vs. a $100 import from Asia)

If that had an actual trackpad on it, I might bite, but I absolutely *hate* the "dots" (one of my laptops actually had it's dot missing the cover so it was unuseable - I never noticed I jsut used the trackpad)

I might try this, I've seen the Tab docks cheep, didn't know if they used the same pinout for the connector or not. Quick question - Does the blue light on the keyboard stay on when your Note is docked and charging? I thought mine did initially but now it doesn't consistently stay on. It also seems to charge slower (but that could just be my imagination).

I'm not sure - I never charge while it's in the dock. The blue light seems to come on intermittently for me - not sure why. At first I thought it was strictly for caps lock, but it is not consistent.

[Q] Galaxy Tab S 10.5" Keyboard + Cover/Protector/Pouch compatibility?

Hi everyone, this is my first post, so thanks for reading!
I recently bought a Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5", and along with it I got the Samsung Bluetooth Keyboard. It's great and sleek; they work really well together. However, I am still wary of scratching up the tablet since the keyboard doesn't come with a cover and only serves as a stand.
I was wondering whether there are any covers for the tablet available that would be compatible with the keyboard; AUA: the tablet will still fit in the keyboard while it has the cover/protector attached. If not, I was wondering if there are any great pouches big and snug enough to keep the tablet folded with the keyboard inside? A pouch might be nice actually since the keyboard itself was rather expensive as well, so keeping it in good condition is preferable.
I hope the answers here help others, too, because I couldn't really find any threads addressing this issue.
Here is the keyboard in question: samsung . com /us/ mobile/galaxy-tab-accessories/EJ-CT800UAEGUJ
Many thanks!
PS. It would be nice to have a cover/protector to complement this titanium bronze color. Not necessary though :fingers-crossed:
PPS. I know this sorta belongs in the Galaxy Tab S Accessories forum, but I was warned that posting questions there is against the rules.
There should be plenty of netbook cases fitting it.
Aw alright thanks

Hmm well if that's the only option then I guess that's alright with me. I was just hoping that there was a more eloquent solution.
I'll definitely look into it though. Thank you very much for your advice.
I hope Samsung does eventually produce a matching case or pouch for the tab + keyboard.
I have this and it protects the screen while closed (there are 4 plastic holders at the edges) or do you want the backside to be protected as well?

oh yeah it protects my screen well when it is closed. I just wanted something for the back for when I close it and carry it around. I don't want to scratch the tablet anywhere; as little as possible at least
I got the Logitech keyboard instead because it was $50 cheaper and protects both the screen and the back of the tablet. I'd suggest you return the Samsung keyboard and get the Logitech one

Thanks but I tried the logitech one and I didn't like the feel. It felt cheaper. Also they let me buy the Samsung one for 50% off cuz I asked
Haha well to each his own!
I got this one and have only had it a couple days. Keyboard is included and seems to work well.

I have the Samsung book cover that I love but if I wanted a keyboard it would be this one. Very nice at a good price. Good find.
I have this one for a quick running out the door cover, no keyboard. One not so good feature, it's really hard to use it for a stand. Doesn't work well for that but otherwise it's super. I've got one for my Note 3 also.
