Did I flash something wrong? - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Note II

SocI recently flashed the 23 toggle mod after installing a stock deox rom, but I have ran into an odd problem.
When I use my music player (in this case3 PowerAmp) the music starts to skip around when the screen goes off, , but plays normally when the screen is on. Other apps work fine (iheartradio for example)

[Q] Terrible Lag when using music player!

I don't understand why but it happens when I use Samsung's stock player (like the little overlay) but the lag scrolling through menus and such that arises when using the phone normally while listening to music is unbearable. It dissipates shortly after I pause the song. I'm not crazy! Am I the only one with this problem??
Edit: By the way, this happens while running stock ICS and Darkside 3-v2.
Probably the mix of kernel and from you have. Instead of stock use dark sides from.

Use Poweramp. It is so much better than the stock music app, and never had given me a problem.
The issue could be a number of things... You can't really zone it down to one. Try poweramp in market.
Oh I'm sorry, I meant that this has happened while running stock from and kernel, as well as darkside's rom and kernel. Using any other music player takes care of the issue, thanks for pointing that out. Maybe its the player itself?

Stuttering music

Hello folks,
I got my galaxy note 2 for 3 days now, but when I want to play mp3 music then the problems come. Music is stuttering all the time. I'm not using bluethoot or anything like that. Has anyone too this problem or a fix?
Cheers,
Ramon Smit

Do you have power saving mode activated? (Not saying that is the problem for sure but please check)

Nope, I have everything checked twice. I noticed when i upload my music to dropbox the quality is not stuttering. But when I copy my songs directly from my pc trough usb to my note then the problems are gong to come up.

There is some problem with your speaker. Better get it replaced. I suppose you are getting it normal when you listened through the ear phones.

Funnily enough, I noticed a stutter on some music tracks today when using the default music player.
My mp3's are stored on a 64gb class 10 SanDisk sd card if that makes any difference.
I'm using player pro ... for my music player ... and I had this happen once .. but it was some bad mp3 files .. Blahhhhhhhhhh

I'm having this issue too using the beta of n7player. Don't know if it's player's fault (youtube audio seems fine), or it's something related to custom kernel/rom :S

Possible, but i'm still running stock kernel, rom and radio. I think i'm going to the store and maybe they send my phone for repair. I'll keep you guys up to date

Mmm, just noticed, mine is a bluetooth issue, motivated most likely by the custom kernel/rom I'm running..., the shuttering gets worse if I move away from the phone, anything beyond a couple of meters == no sound at all.
im having this problem also
i havent identified why it is but im getting alot of dalvikvm concurrent and for_alloc freed in my logs
things i've tried:
overclocking
set the minimum to 500 mhz
changed cpu govenor
another music player(winamp)
removing any games that i've installed
and then i flashed it with a custom rom, and i still get lag spikes ;/
http://pastebin.com/XQJNyVng
the lag comes when the dalvikvm shows up in log
i notice that it only happens when the screen is off
auto memory manager (play store) and set "empty apps" to 250 - its better but still Some stuttering
The auto memory manager fixed my probleem! I'm glad it fixed the laggy songs! Thanks!

Hi,
Read on one of the threads that when you transfer songs in bulk to the SGN2, they stutter, but if you transfer in batches of 5-6, the same songs play well.
yeh same problem here with stock music player :/
I have the same problem using the stock ROM and music player.
The stuttering seems random, and I have plenty of free memory (~750MB free).

yeh for me it is also random, sometimes i have listened for 2 hours music without stutters, later i get 1-3 stutters at one song. Especially i get stutters when screen is off or surfing the net. Noticed stutters at 4.1.2 firmwares, hadnt any problems with 4.1.1

I'm still on 4.1.1 actually.
Hmm I'm back to this problem. Stock Rom/Kernel. I'm rooted now.
Used the memory manager but the issues are still there. It's really weird. Did put them one at another on my SDcard trough USB.
When I zip my files put them on Dropbox and download them from my Dropbox then there is no problem..
Almost would think that the drivers are screwing the songs up in 320kbps.

Flash player

Is anyone else having problems on non-sense based roms where flash player is just broken?
Audio plays but the video won't update or progress unless you either rotate the phone or change something
Sent from my ADR6350 using xda app-developers app
Same here. I used to use MIUI and most of the times my phone can't load video at all. It doesn't matter if you rotate it or not. The sound played but not video. MROM is not better in that aspect.
I think it must be a kernel issue or something

Updated yesterday, found a few bugs already.hopefully, someone can help resolve.
1) screen keeps flashing when keyboard is active.
SOLVED : changed keyboard theme and problem is gone.maybe a bug in default theme.
2) music playback skips / jerks for a split second, not all the time, just every once in a while.i am using jetaudio.this never happened on stock 4.2.2
3)touch screen not as responsive.sometimes have to touch a few times.was working perfectly on 4.2.2. There is an app to fine tune screen which i used for my old galaxy tab, cant remember what it was called.
4)battery drain still a big problem.i had same problem with 4.2.2 maybe i have a dodgy pad.anyone notice an improvement in the battery on 4.4.2
Thats all i found so far,pls post if anyone finds anymore.

Same here ,updated last night.
I had the screen flash but only when keyboard was used in conjunction with internet, using memo pad for instance it did not flash.
I use Poweramp and music is jumpy and has the static hissing noise that others with a Lg G2 have experienced, funnily enough not so bad with default music player,so could be a compatibility issue with Kitkat.
Touch screen ok for sensitivity ,but i have had a few crackles of static occasionally when touching the screen after a break ,watching a video for instance.
Battery drain is the same as yours ,but was with Jellybean also.
All in all don't know why i bothered so far no pluses at all just drawbacks
It is much more snappier, feels more smoother.will try another music player.might also try dyn kernel ,if compatible.
I did some testing with the leaked 018a KitKat I am using.
First of all, I experienced no static or sound issues such as the LG G2 headphone bug (BTW, the G2 ROM in my sig has no such issue). I also have PowerAmp, and checked with both loudspeakers and my G2 stock headphones.
I also checked the video, using a 1080p copy of Avatar played on BS Player Free (better than MX or others IMHO). I watched a half hour, with headphones, and saw not one single glitch, and about 5-6% battery drain (screen at 45% brightness BTW). Although no other program was running, things such as email sync and others were left running normally.
I was just browsing xda thru app and music skipped again, but looks like its the pad thats freezing and not the music player. Because i was scrolling thru a thread and it froze for like a second and music stopped, when it came back,i was half way down the thread.

is there a custom stock rom that fixes battery life?
i don't think so.dyn kernel good for battery life but,not sure it works for stock 4.4.2 .i actually did a factory reset earlier, and not experiencing random freezes.touch sensitivity and battery drain still exists.
I was getting about 7.5 to 8 hours of screen on time with new kk.
Before in 4.2.2 was getting about 6 to 6.5. The difference is substantial. Lag is gone too
Sent from my SM-N900W8 using Tapatalk
After the factory reset the music /pad freeze seems to have gone.now video playback with mx player has that problem, was not a problem on 4,2,2. Is there a way to wipe cache, wipe dalvik before reset, like on custom recovery ? Also.i noticed the update centre app (brown box with android popping out ) is always auto updating, even though i disabled it,it just keeps showing up.maybe this is what is draining my battery.
