i tried to stream movies but i get an error saying that i need flash player. is this needed? if so, how can i download the right flash version for my phone? if not, how can i stream movies on my SGS3?
You can only install Flash Player on Ice Cream Sandwich (4.0.4). They stopped allowing the use of Flash Player in Jelly Bean (4.1.1). Check in the system settings to see what version you're on. Go to Settings>>About Device>>And then look for Android Version. If it says 4.1.1 you can't install it. But if it's still on 4.0.4 just go into Google Play and download Flash Player, you should then be able to watch movies from your phone! Used to do that all the time before I got a new laptop lol!
Search on this section there is bunch of flash player to run on jelly bean. I watch online movies always on my 4.1.2
You didn't need to start 2 threads about this. But I have a mirror posted for JB Flash Player here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2103293

^^^ Agreed.
I am closing the other thread and moving this one to Q&A where it should be.

In the play store, it lists that there is a problem with jellybean and the next update will fix it. It doesn't say when the update is coming.
It did not work on Xoom Team EOS JB rom as well. I had to come back to ICS.
I have audio but black screen. I believe because this app is flash based and JB does not support it.
I know some users complained about HBGO android app ins't working as well.
Does anyone know if any ROMs available provide the Pop Up Play feature provided by the Galaxy S III as seen here:
http://www.geek.com/articles/mobile/galaxy-s3-popup-play-video-20120620/
That would be sweet to have it on a JB ROM.

I heard Moboplayer has been updated to allow the pop-up video thing.
EDIT - Just tried it and yeah, it works great! Just start a video then hit the home button and the video keeps playing in a thumbnail. You can resize it and drag it around the screen to your heart's content.
EDIT 2 - Tested it out and it works great while browsing the net, playing games (Cartoon Wars, Major Mayhem etc) and eve while playing another video in Youtube.
Only time it crashed for me was when loading up Real Racing 2 but then again it is a buggy piece of EA Games crap so I wouldn't throw blame at Moboplayer for that.

You could use moboplayer , the latest version has an update which allows pop up playing by pressing HOME while the video is playing.
Otherwise you could Super video from S3 from:

I have been using this since ICS and it works perfectly on my JB too.
Not sure this is in the proper section but...
I have my galaxy and I have a Samsung television. Both are hooked up to the same network.
When I try to stream video to my television in 1080p, which is just the video size that I recorded using the camera app, the video comes in choppy. Lower resolution videos seem to play fine.
This feature worked flawlessly on ics, not entirely sure though as to why is choppy on Jelly bean.
Has anyone experienced this issue before? If so, what did you do to solve the problem.
Are there ports that need forwarding? It used to work, but now it doesn't. The only thing that has changed is the upgrade to Jelly bean. I help! :banghead::banghead:
FreeGS3 2.0.0 Jelly Bean
Also interested in finding a solution to this. It happens between my phone and tv (samsung) and between my phone and the parents' home theater (sony).
I can play videos i have on my phone from other sources just fine, but videos recorded on the phone are very choppy...even 720p.

Glad to see I'm not the only use experiencing this. I haven't tried 720. When I was on ics, This feature was working just fine.
FreeGS3 2.0.0 Jelly Bean
Tried 720p, still a no go with that. Does Jelly bean use a different video encoder than ics?
It's hard to believe that only two people in the community are having this issue.
FreeGS3 2.0.0 Jelly Bean
Should be in Q&A

skipping video on allshare
Yeah same problem here. All my pre jelly bean update videos stream fine. Videis post jelly bean skip. When i try to play them on my samsung tv i get "preparing to play" message every couple of seconds and video freezes. It used to be a great feature but now its ruined. If i change to lower resolution in camera settings it seems to play fine but no 1080 anymore. Anyone know the the problem might be and mist importantly whats the fix? Thanks
Same prob. here Anyone ?
Looks like Amazon wasn't supporting Android smartphones. I'm not sure if it's changed. I saw a youtube video on how to make it work but it seems to no longer be effective.
Is anyone able to watch Amazon streaming videos with a standard unrooted etc android device?
I think you can watch them in any browser that supports flash. I believe the stock browser and Dolphin work.
I downloaded Dolphin but it won't run Amazon streaming video. It results in an error code.

I don't think Dolphin supports flash anymore. You can install Boat browser for flash content. You need to install flash separately, and enable it in Boat browser settings. Then you can watch Amazon videos through Boat browser.

Thanks, I downloaded Boat but still no go. Looks like there's no flash support beyond android 4.0.x.
http://www.appbrain.com/app/adobe-flash-player-11/com.adobe.flashplayer
Google Play won't download the flash player for current Android devices. Looks like there's other ways to download flash...
http://www.ghacks.net/2013/07/29/how-to-install-and-use-flash-player-on-your-android-device/
Yes, you have to install it separately and not from Google Play. Search xda, I'm sure you will find a link to the file. It works on Android 4.3, I tried streaming with my N7 and can confirm. Don't worry about the threads saying it won't work, that was an old issue of Amazon doing something to exclude android devices, they no longer do that.
Don't forget to enable flash in boat browser once you install it. It is not enabled by default!

Hey I just rooted my Nexus 7 and installed Paranoid Android 4 Beta3 and everything is running amazingly. The only Issue im having is Play Movies & TV wont load any of my purchases! It just says "Playback isn't supported on this device". I know alot of people will say if you are rooted then you cannot playback movies on Google play movies but I don't think this is true because my phone is rooted and has a custom rom and I can load all my movies and shows just fine?! I'm on the stock kernel as well? any way around this?
Perhaps a different rom or a gapps package?
I have even used the disable super user option in SuperSU app... It works for flixster but not Google play movies
Well I flashed a CM rom and everything seems to work fine now!? So I guess ill just stay on that for now?

You answered your own question. It might be something about PA's setup, maybe changeable or maybe not, that makes Play think your tablet isn't compatible. I run a custom 4.1 on another tablet that the Play Store thinks isn't compatible with a few games, yet I can sideload them just fine.

Ya I figured!!! And Nice!!! Ya I just unrooted / went back to stock! Dont see that much of a point to root a nexus device, unless you want all those awesome Paranoid Android features like Halo, Pie, and Hybrid mode! Which most 4.4.2 roms dont even have because they have to re-implement them all gradually over time!
