In fact I´m not the only one who gets annoyed reading the same questions and Requests over and over again I will try to write here a little How To with Frequent asked questions:
Q1: "Hey could you please implement this function by cm 10.2 or this from aokp?"
A1: Most of the time the answer will be NO! Why? Because the Paranoidandroid team wants to keep the Rom as stock as possible (I know this sounds crazy due to the fact that this is the most customizable Rom out there, but this is because of their hybrid engine).
So they use a lot of the google apps and will most likely not implement features that doesn't really belong to the hybrid engine.
Q2: "Where are the settings to edit the colors and set apps to another layout?"
A2: You can find the Paranoid settings under Settings -> Hybrid Properties
There will open an app with colored bars. You can click on one of them to apply an overall other Ui to your System! This won´t change the layout of any app.
To apply other layouts to apps swipe once to the right. On the left menu click on "Apps" and search for the one you´d like to change.
You can find a How To with pictures "how to set the right app settings" in the op second post!
Q3: "How can I make my Navbar transparent for my home launcher?"
A3: Make sure you have enabled "Per app color" in Hybrid Properties -> Interface! Than go to Apps and look for your home launcher (For me its apex). Click on your Home launcher and swipe two times to the right to come to the "color" menu.
Click on "Navigation bar color" and slide the alpha slider completely to the right (The color code will be 00FFFFF) and click on the "new color" field and after that on the right at "apply".
After that disable "shadows" in your launcher settings!
Congrats your nav bar is transparent now.
Q4: "How can I make my Navbar transparent in other apps?"
A4: It´s not possible because apps can´t draw under the nav bar. It wouldn't make any sense, too because the navbar is of course not "clickable"
Q5: "How can I get this awesome pie thing to work?"
A5: The "navpie" is actually pretty easy to enable. It´s important that you set your device into expanded desktop mode! Press the power button and click on expanded desktop!
After that go to Settings-> Toolbars and enable "Pie controls" From now on you can swipe up from the button (or any place there you set it to be) to get the pie!
Q6: "How can I theme the pie?"
A6: Exactly like the nav bar! Go to Hybrid properties and apply individual colors for every app under "Apps" or for all in "Interface"
Q7: "I don't have the same functionality like in the videos!"
A7: This is just normal. The videos are most likely teasers to show that will be in the next build! It is just normal that you don't have them yet. Always make sure you are on the newest build!
Q8: "Where are the changelogs to the new build?"
A8: The changelogs are usually posted to the official google+ page which you can find here: https://plus.google.com/u/0/107979589566958860409/posts
Q9: "This google app crashes after the I installed the new build" OR "Swype stopped working in the newest build in stock keyboard"
A9: This is normal then you didn´t flash the gapps agein.
Wipe caches
Flash the newest build
Flash the newest gapps!
This should solve all the issues you maybe get with this.. If not: Ask in this thread for help!
Q10: "I can´t access notifications bar in expanden desktop mode. I allready tried x and y!!"
A10: The only way for now to get the status bar is the app smart statusbar (https://play.google.com/store/apps/...r.free&feature=nav_result#?t=W251bGwsMSwyLDNd )
Q11: "After flashing the newest update I have an ugly navbar bug on the lockscreen then pie controll is enabled. "
A11: It´s a bug with the way it´s implemented. You can still access the notifications bar so the navbar still is there although you are in expanded desktop mode.
To fix this issue go to: Hybrid Properties -> Interface and set nav bar size to 0%
Q12: "How can I get the notifications to show up while using the pie? "
A12: You have to open the pie through the swipe gesture and then swipe almost all the screen up. If the area at the top of the screen gets blue you can stop touching the screen and notifications will show up!
As far as I know this only works if the pie is set to the bottom!
Q13: "I cant set icons to my dock properly! "
A13: Its a known bug. The problem is the expanded desktop mode. Mole already said that the next build is fixing it. For now if you want to customize disable extended desktop mode. You can after customizing reenable it!
Q14: "Where can I find the wallpaper from OP?"
A14: It`s from the Goolors Icon pack on the play store!
Any other things that should stand in the FAQ? Did I make some horrible language mistakes? Write me a PM or post in this thread

yes it auto hides when expanded desktop is enabled.. i just posted this "as-is" now but i will edit and fix things soon
Edit- fixed

If it's not, this needs to be linked in the main PA thread. This is definitely needed and if I ever come across anything in the PA thread that could be added, I will definitely let you know. I will also start directing people here for simple issues that you have explained.

just sent d4rk a PM, lets see :fingers-crossed:

changed my sig too..........the main thread is horrible

Today, once I fill my belly, I may attempt to organize your posts a bit. (Not that they are bad or unorganized) If you like the revisions I make, you can definitely keep them. Obviously I'll have to post them or PM, I can't just change them on my own
For the step by step on how to install PA properly and not have issues, I will also get pictures.
Hopefully you don't mind that I want to do that. I just like organizing things and my room is all clean. Hehe

I tried installing PA last night with the newest build using the toolkit V10.1 and ran into a few problems. I am not really new to rooting, but I have never recieved that Status 7 error before. I finally able to go to stock, reroot, and restore my previous rom. I think the recovery version of TWRP was too old to install these 2.4 roms. I HAVE searched the forum but can't seem to find the beta 2.4 version of TWRP that works for the VERIZON GALAXY NEXUS. Can someone please link me? It would be much apprechiated!

As far as I can tell, 2.3.3.0 is the latest TWRP release. I have it installed on my Maguro device and it flashes PA just fine.

Hello all, i would like to present to you the answer to all of your paranoid android problems, especially with newbies wanting to learn about PIE and all the good things the PIE brings. =)
First and foremost, i want to thank molesarecomming for giving permission to do this thread.
Second. I take no credit for the images or creation of Paranoid android.
Third. If any of you have questions, feel free to post them IN THIS THREAD. =)
Fourth. I will eventually post photos to make it easier, bare with me please, and no hate please.
First i will be giving you directions on how to enable and disable pie
MAKE SURE TO DO A NANDROID BACKUP, I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANYTHING THAT HAPPENS TO YOUR PHONE.
1. install Paranoid android on its latest build jan22, and also grab the pa_gapps or use the standard google GAPPS. Feel free to flash a custom Kernel of your choice
2. After your rom has successfully flashed go to settings. From there scroll down to "Toolbars" . You should see PIE CONTROLS. enable it, then choose your pie location of choice, (only makes sense to enable it on ONE side) feel free to choose "pie per app" This will allow to change pie colors with your apps of choice
3. Next go to "Hybrid Properties" which is in the settings. It will pop up with a choice of
PA Colors
Stock UI
Phablet UI
Tablet UI with 190 DPI / 1000P, 220DP1 / 1000P and 250 DPI / 1000P
4. choose PA colors first (optional) to enable Per App colors.
5. Swipe to the left and you should come across the "Paranoid Android Settings" it's going to give you options of
Launch
Interface
Apps
Tools
Help?
Go pro
6. This step is optional, go too the "APPS" in the "Hybrid Properties" and begin choosing the colors you would like for your apps. (Making your pie the custom color you want for that designated app)
7. Last but not least hold down the power button untill the Power control pops up and give you the option to Power off / reboot / Expanded Desktop / Airplane mode.
CLICK EXPANDED DESKTOP
Now your status bar and Nav.bar should dissappear.
8. Now if you remembered your PIE choice on weather is will be Top / Left / Right / Bottom. slowly give it some good swipes from the end of the phone onto the screen (for best results) and LOOK AT THAT, THERES YOUR PIE.
========================================================================================
HELP! MY PIE WONT SHOW UP AFTER I UNLOCK MY DEVICE, ITS NOT WORKING PROPERLY
Well, i suggest after unlocking the divice, give it 2 or 3 seconds then try to use PIE i garuntee 99.9% It will work all the time =)
HELP I CANT USE THE BOTTOM PIE IT NEVER SHOWS UP!!!
Hmmm, as another lad had told me, always swipe up from the notification led place, and give it a good slow (ish) swipe up, and i garuntee 99.8% it will always work
HELP! MY PIE WONT CHANGE COLORS FROM THE APP COLORS I CHOSE.
Did you remember to do 7? and did you enable "PIE PER APP" in the toolbars section in the settings?
HELP!!! I DID ALL MY COLORS BUT THEY STILL WONT SHOW UP!!
Do a reboot and BOOM there you go.
====================================
If there is anything i did not cover, feel free to PM me and i will fix it, and if there is anybody i was sapposed to give credit too that i have missed please inform me and ill give where all the credit is due. Please this is a thread where all questions could be asked and anwsered, lets not make this a troll thread please, and lets not get annoyed. Feel free to share screenshots of issues or give out any problems, if they are fixable.
THANK YOU :cyclops:

Help with Multiple Users
EDIT: I figured it out, I had to enable lockscreen rotation and then in landscape mode it shows the multiple users.
My problem is that I have installed paranoid android 2.99 and I have created a second user account which I was able to setup. I was not able to switch back into my main account except by rebooting the phone and now I am unable to return to the secondary account that I created. My question is, how can I switch between accounts?
Thanks in advance.
I have searched and not been able to find an answer so far, but please forgive me if I missed it.

No need for an app. You can set the nav bar to 0% within Hybrid Properties>Interface. Enable PIE to be on the left or right and BAM. Bare PIE (just the nav buttons) and you have a status bar.

Well I got absorbed in some other things yesterday, but one of these days I definitely will. It will most likely be a well-written[bold/italic/quotes/colors/easy-to-follow] guide (including pictures) to installing PA/gapps to not have any issues. As well as briefly go over how to set up apps to the users liking and how to use PIE (probably some other things too). Most likely, I will do that on Sunday though.

Improvements on Backup app, now it automatically launches on startup after you install a newer (or older) version
Hybrid speedup, less lag, considerably faster list scrolling when pad/pal is in action
Keyboard scaling, an androids first
PAD/PAL bugfixes for apps that still crop images in lower dpis
Settings revamp, speed preferences to switch between modes without having to set up anything, less clutter
Trebuchet extras: 3x4 widgets, speed dial menu button, ... and some weird rocket button which im sure will be very useful to most of you

Fixed most of the issues with pad & pal, now facebook, whatsapp, keyboards, etc will be shown just fine
PAD/PAL work in phonemode 100%, no weird toggles and stuff like that. you get full tablet apps without caveats

Few Questions
"Roming Indicator Off" is appearing below the lock screen
For hybrid setting what what dpi should be used for individual apps? (dpi for tablet vs phone)
Can I flash a different kernel?
Any chance of pointing me to the direction of the wallpaper below!
Bug Report-
Roaming Indicator Off in the status bar and lockscreen instead of Sprint.
Other than thatm spectacular rom thanks daxmax and paranoidandroid team!
Damn have to wait till 6pm est to flash

Bug report:
"Unfortunately 4G settings has stopped" - when I enter the 4G menu.
Haven't flashed a new kernel yet.
Questions:
I second the questions prior to this including preferred dpi. And also: does it really mess things up (visually, home screen, etc) if you turn off hybrid/tablet ui? I'm not even really sure of the diff between these two options. Is there a clean way to revert to phone mode?
Edit: also, in tablet mod eis it possible to move status bar up top?

This rom is really sweet!
FYI Homescreens (Launcher, Homescreen,Homescreens) gives me a force close, I tried to fix permissions and still received FC "unfortunalely, Trebuchet has stopped"
nova seems to be running fine.
this is CM based but I don't see an option for skipping tracks w/ volume. is this possible to add?
Edit: has anyone switched the main default dpi? I'd like everything to be just slightly larger.
can you make a wallpaper out of the paranoid android logo seen on the OP

agree- but it is probably because our screen is smaller
Torch power widget working or is it me?
there also doesn't seem to be a way to customize the power widgets in the bar?
also getting a weird error i've never seen before in mybackup when trying to restore sms/mms: cannot downgrade database from version 60 to 55?
I came from a 4.0.4 ROM too ..
never had this error in all my days of flashing. not even from gb --> ics.

To be honest, this is not tablet mode at all, it has nothing to do with silly build.prop hacks. This is the first and only Android rom to feature true Hybrid mode. This rom lets you scale and project every app, every widget, even systemcomponents individually. Remember, android is modular, everything is an app: Lockscreen, navigationbar, dialogs, popups, keyboards, widgets, and your regular apps of course. Apps have the capability to switch into various designs or layouts according to the device they run on. This can result in a complete new experience as many apps will transform to the better.
Now for every element that you like chose a mode (PhoneUI, Phablet/Nexus-7UI, TabletUI) and/or a size. You are 100% independent of the system DPI which runs nicely in whatever value it has been assigned to. You do not need to boot your phone into a certain DPI. Neither will most of the changes you apply require a reboot. You will not suffer from the myriads of troubles which normally haunt you under build.prop tablet mode. Your market, phone, etc. will all work, apps won't shrink on you unless you shrink them yourself. This project will entirely transform your device, but retain the aesthetics and the feel of your phone.

1. Try everything you can, find solutions for yourself. Wipe caches, revert all your settings you have made, go back to your stock Kernel, factory reset if you have to or reflash the rom. Assume that the issue is on your side and try your best to isolate it.
2. Search this thread and Cyanogenmods aswell (its our base) for possible reoccurences of your issue and hopefully solutions that may have come up.

ParanoidAndroid JellyBean - v1.99
v1.99
Officially build from sources
OTA Updates are back via goomanager (incorporated on the ROM)
PA version in Settings > About
Fixes and CM merges
crespo4g: fixed gps and sensors
v1.98
Project butter recents in tabUI (2/2)
Quick access hybrid properties by longpressing a recent app
More refined hybrid algorithm to reveal more layout containers
TabletUI toggles
All recent cm merges (Trebuchet, googles 4.1.1 r4 with a whole bunch of fixes for memory leaks, etc)
v1.97
New option: "large" to trick an app thinking the device has a real big screen. some need it, like amazon kindle to jump into tabUI. some even react on it, gdrive will slightly adapt its layout - makes only sense if you give it a small dpi though.
The algorithm to extract the actual layout containers from apk files works more precise and can reveal more than before. there will still be a few apps left who do that layout stuff in java - we will add an override button for that, but in the meantime you can edit /system/etc/paranoid/properties.conf .layout=360 for phone-like UI, 600 for phablet, 720 = tablet, 1280 = super huge tablet
Several bugfixes from us and cm
v1.96
Breakthrough: We can finally target the actual layout containers inside the apk. If an app brings only phoneUI, you see it right away as you only have one UI option. If it brings ten, you will be able to pick each one of em. We're finally away from this Phone/Phab/Tab nonsense.
Total Hybrid engine revamp, alot less clutter, many bugfixes, apps wont make jumps when you load them up because their actual size is calculated by the engine.
Panel is still growing. It brings new options and new preferences that can even change android system settings.
All recent cm10 patches and fixes
v1.9.5
Finally hardware accelerated recents in TabUI, as fluid as ever. The ugly gradient is gone aswell
Paranoid got its own dir in /system/etc/paranoid - pad.prop is not properties.conf
A clean backup properties file is shipped, you can make a full reset in the panel in case you lost it with all the settings you made
Force option can be activated in the panel, good for widget scaling
The DPI sliders in the panel read min/max props from properties.conf, define them as you like
TabUI Recents are back to a bigger size, this is temporary, i'll look for ways to port the phone implementation as project butter skipped the tabUI code
CM fixed alot of features again, we included them all
v1.9.2
Softkeys toggle
Merged CM's theme engine
Fixed a few unclean sources
HDPI adjustments
Fixed Wifi Supplicant
v1.9.1
Hybrid bugfix, finally keyboard/facebook scaling works on JB again without sideeffects
Layout fix for notificationcenter gap in tabUI
Layout fix for recents in phabUI
Speed prefs ask for reboot
New bootani thx to nasaorc
CM10 patches
How to set the workspace mode
How to change an apps Layout and size
Sick thanks

Switched to tablet mode and the signal and battery icons are almost too tiny to see. Is there a setting I missed somewhere?
EDIT/ Fixed. Didn't realize I could change the density of systemui. >_>
Everything working good so far. MMS works fine for me. No 4G here to test. This is probably my favorite ROM ever.

What did you ultimately set it to? I tried choosing the tablet mode preset, then put the System UI DPI to all the way up to 240 and still have an unuseable notification bar. I tried a couple of times, but no luck. Also looks like I don't have navigation icons. I figured I'd need to turn on the nav bar, but can't find anything for that yet. Any advice would be appreciated.
Edit: Duh! I found the nav bar and turned it on. I'm also using Nova Launcher, which I thought would make a difference. I tried messing with settings of both the stock launcher and Nova with no luck. It looks like I might be actually changing the size of the icons, but the height of the notification bar area does not change.
One more edit: in full disclosure, I'm using lowrider's custom GApps package, so I'm downloading the one in the OP, just to make sure I'm not causing the problem for myself.
have to ask this, but does this have the volume wake feature?

[APP][TRIAL] DeskBar Launcher will replace your soft buttons and more!

Hello!
I'm an Android developer and I almost finished a new app called Deskbar Launcher.
I created it for many reasons. First I was fed up by the look of the system bar with Home/Back/Recent Apps and the huge waste of space it makes. Like many others I tried alternative solutions like HideBar and the likes but then I looked at my laptop and at its ribbon bar which I use all the time and I thought it would be a good idea to have something similar on Android.

Download links are now in the new thread here. If you have any comments, suggestions or problems, please report there. Thanks
Features :
-can replace your soft buttons (sadly Back button needs root, after lots of search I don't think it is possible otherwise)
-add shortcuts to your favorite apps on the bar
-music controllers to go to pause/go to next/previous song in any apps
-volume controllers
-lock button to minimize accidental input of your bar and soft buttons
-access all your apps in StartMenu as well as categories such as Pictures, Music, Settings, etc.
-(experimental)(ROOT)fullscreen mode.
Future features:
-Folders
-Themes
-Reboot button for root users
-etc
I developed it mainly on Nexus7, that's why I post here before releasing it on the Play Store. It is a Trial version of 10days and when you launch it you need internet access for verification, after it's not necessary except if you reload it. A licence key will soon be available.
There might be some bugs!
Questions
Q:I don't have Root and not having a back button is not possible for me, it seems I can't use your app.
Q:I already got rid of my system bar, it will cover screen content so it's not usable for me too.
A: You can! Deskbar Launcher has an autohide feature so you can still access your back button. Bring it up only when it's needed!
Q: I have one bar for soft buttons and notifications (no status bar on top) . Your app will cover the notification part and I won't be able to access my notifications
A. There is a setting especially for that so the Deskbar takes only half your device's width, in the future the width of Deskbar might be more customizable.
Q : Can I use it on my other tablet/phone ?
A. Yes! It is theoretically compatible with all 2.2 or + Android devices! There might be some problems on specific rom or with some manufacturers. Please report to me in this case.
i'll try and report,i haven't mean exactly what does (using it is more intuitive!)
thanks for now mate!
Will be testing this for sure!
Edit
Light usage so far
Pros:
- Quick easy access to your music, photos, and documents
- Completely changes look and feel of the bottom nav bar without need for root or new ROM
- can view and switch to apps of your choice quickly with out exiting current app
- in-depth settings with good amount of customization
- work around for non-rooted users
Cons:
- visual appeal isn't appealing( to me at least)
- nav buttons feel a little too close together
- cannot change the color of the bar
- auto hide feature needs work as it seems finicky
What I would like to see:
- short cuts to user defined app in menu
- options to change colors
- quick toggles in menu (WiFi, Bluetooth, etc...)
Other then that I really like it and its a good change. Will love to see the advancement of this project later down the road! Great work indeed!

Thanks for your feedback!
About suggestions and bad points:
-Yeah visual appeal is kind of generic, I'm not the best at design/art . Themes should give a workaround for those who don't like it in one of the next updates. (By the way there was a bug with the start button not showing the glowing icon when start menu was displaying . It's fixed in the new version, it's the same download link, uninstall is needed if you have the previous version.
-I plan on adding a setting to have custom distance between buttons because on some device space is precious and on others there's plenty of it.
-Themes should also address this issue
-Not sure what you mean by this, I admit it's not ideal because there's no animation, it just goes down after a 3seconds delay. I will add a smooth movement option in the future.
-user-defined shortcuts in menu is planned, as well as folders containing app shortcuts
-I'll try to add Theming fast
-Quick Toggles is indeed interesting, I'll think of ways to add it in the Menu.
Awesome! I see this as being a good hit

This damn thing is INTUITIVE. Seriously, I love the feel of it and it really looks quite nice on my N7. Cheers for letting us try this, I think its a really good fit and shows promise of something in the future. Killjoy question: what will the licensing price new?
Im really loving this! I do have have more thing that I would like to see added and that would be having resizeable options for the menu its self. More so users can choose exactly how many pixels the pull up menu actually takes up. I'm also picky like that though.

Very minor complaint: after about an hour of use, it starts to feel a bit sluggish. That is, I'll tap on home, back it recent and it'll take about a second to respond. I rebooted my tablet and suddenly I got my groove back. Maybe it's a memory issue? Just thought I'd chime in, I'm really enjoying this mod!
Love it so far!
Two little things:
-ability to change icons/icon sets of shortcuts
-expanded version of the menu to see more apps at once
Thanks

Hello!
Can you tell me when it's happening and if it's after a precise action ? Could you use the CatLog app (or any similar one) to get me a crash report ? Thanks!
You might be low on memory and the system decide to stop the app to free some.

Music buttons worked great, as did the launcher button. No shortcuts added. I'm wondering if the error came from my rom or what, I'm running slim bean beta 2 with faux beta 14b01. Haven't had any issues since restarting, maybe it was a fluke?
New version uploaded which uses less memory and has a new welcome screen ( not so well done but I wanted one to have a link to the video tutorial I finished ).
Link updated in OP

Maybe, or it's the way to simulate virtual buttons that can sometimes go wrong, it's kind of a hack but there isn't really any alternative. It should work most of the time and as well as similar apps offering virtual buttons alternative.
I have to go, I'll be back tomorrow.
EDIT:I forgot to add if you already installed it, erase app data before uninstalling and installing the new one because the way data was saved as changed.

[MOD] Add Mobile Data & other Toggles to Quick Settings (Requires Sqlite & Root)

[MOD] Add Mobile Data & other Toggles to Quick Settings (Requires Sqlite & Root)
Updated to add the other missing toggles. Thank you Poetic Vampire.
Update 5-21-14: I finally updated to 4.3 and had to redo this mod. Just confirming it worked for me.
DISCLAIMER: This was done on a T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S4. Model # SGH-M919. It may or may not work on other devices. If you have another device and it doesnt work thats probably why. So please be careful. This requires root as well. And please make a Nandroid backup before making changes. Of course please dont blame me if your device goes thermonuclear. It worked for me and it should work for anyone running stock rooted like I am. Again please take the time to do a Nandroid backup first just in case. It takes a little more time, but is worth it just in case you have an issue. So far I haven't had any issues if you name or spell something wrong. Unlike a build prop theres less chance of a brick. OK, so onto the Mods.
Hello all. After reading several threads about asking about the missing data toggle from the notification area I did some research and testing and figured out how to get it back with root and sqlite editor using the stock rom. I remembered a thread about a similar issue with the Verizon S4 and it missing the Wifi toggle. I used the same steps and the sqlite editor from here and was able to add the data toggle back.
Here are the steps I used for the Mobile Data Toggle, read on below for how to add others. (Thanks to The Poetic Vampire)
1) Download sqlite editor app. I got it from here.
2) Open the app and give it root permissions. It should populate a list.
3) Scroll and Tap the "Settings Storage"
4) Tap "Settings.db"
5) Tap "System"
6) Scroll down until you find "notification_panel_active_app_list", tap to highlight it. I noticed its a little hard to get it highlighted because it seems to want to highlight the one under it. So you might have to tap the one right above it to get it highlighted. Make sure its the notification_panel_active_app_list, and NOT the notification_panel_default_active_app_list. I picked the wrong one the first time and it didnt work.
7) Once it is highlighted tap the phones menu button.
8) Tap "Edit Record"
9) You'll see a list of all the toggles that are currently enabled to show in notification area.
10) At the bottom of the list add ; and the words MobileData then another ;. So it will look like this at the end. ;AirplaneMode;MobileData; Then press Save.
11) Reboot and you should have a data toggle now. You can now use the edit feature and move it anywhere you want in the list of toggles.
Note: After I edited it and rebooted the "notification_panel_active_app_list" moved closer to the bottom of the list. So if you go back in and dont see it scroll further down.
OK. Thanks to member "The Poetic Vampire" you can also add several more of the missing toggles. Use the same method as above. Just add the words exactly as below to get SmartPause, Brightness (Thanks Mister Junky), and Wifi Hotspot. You must end the string with ; for this to work.
SmartPause;
Brightness; (mentioned by Misterjunky)
WiFiHotspot;
UPDATE: Im getting a lot of requests for the flashlight toggle so I decided to add this to the OP so that others with the same question have the answer without having to read the whole thread. As far as I know this isnt possible using this method. In order for it to work it would have to be a toggle that was originally there, but removed. Like T-Mobile removing the Data toggle. Im sure it is possible in a custom rom, but that is way out of my expertise. For flashlight toggle I use Power Toggles in the play store. It works great to set up almost any toggle you want. And highly customizable. Ive added a pic here to show the way I have Power Toggles set up. The lightning bolt shaped toggle is flashlight. Hope this helps.

Thanks for this! Works like a charm!

I was actually wondering this too. If there is a toggle for the flashlight, then all we would need is the exact name of it. Then follow the same instructions. Im not sure Ive seen any galaxies with the flashlight/ torch toggle? I use Power Toggles to turn on the flash light for now. I dont think there is a "stock" way to add the flash light toggle to the dropdown. I have seen custom roms with it though.
Finally! I've been waiting for this mod since day one! No more widgets clogging up my home screen.

I did too. I tried adding torch, light, flash light, flashlight, and maybe a couple others and none worked. Unless it is a stock feature that was removed its not going to work unless it gets modded into a rom. If someone can figure out what the devs did that added it to their rom we might be able to figure it out. Im by no means a dev.

Beanstalk 4.4.4065 - 10/8/14
Built for the Galaxy Note 10.1 (N8013)
I am proud to present to you BeanStalk Builds put together by Scott.Hart.Bti.
This is a build composed off the CM11 builds, and there have been a lot features added on top of it.
So you get speed, stability, and ultra customization ability.
Many of the additional code additions came from Slim ROM and also Derteufels build,
and have been modified to work with Beanstalk.
A huge thanks to Derteufel and the Slim ROM guys for their work and dedication.
Also a big thanks to everyone involved with CM as that is the building stone in this project.
BeanStalk is always evolving, new features coming in, bugs being ironed out.
Thanks to @skyliner33v for the boot animation and upcoming wallpapers!

***Also, @pimpmaneaton is doing some work on a project called Co-Beanstalk.
He deserves credit for adding OmniSwitch (an awesome app thanks to OmniRom),
adding the new XPosed installer on its own separate tab,
changing the look of the Beanstalk options menu a little,
and adding the black Beanstalk boot animation.
All of the above is included in this build.
Co-Beanstalk source: https://github.com/Co-BeanStalk
I am also working on a build with @pimpmaneaton's DracoKernel, and will post it once I confirm everything is working.
READ THIS VERY CAREFULLY!!!!
I am NOT responsible for anything that happens to your device in the process of flashing, or at any other time for that matter. Please have some knowledge of flashing custom roms and setting things up.
I can confirm this build works on the Galaxy Note N8013 edition ONLY!! I do not have the N8000 or any other tablet to test it on.
If someone does want to test this rom on the N8000 or another variation, and it does work, please post the so other users will know, and I can update the post.
But again, this is your choice and I will not take responsibility for anything that happens to your tablet during flashing.
As long as I have the N8013 tablet, I will be updating Beanstalk regularly, and may consider compiling other roms for it as well. I noticed we don't have many custom roms for our device, and I love Beanstalk, so that's why I decided to build.
I do have a job, and I am doing this in my free time, and because I enjoy it.
I will not tolerate any rudeness or anyone being disrespectful in this thread.
I understand there are some noobs, and I will do my best to answer any questions you have.
If you don't like the rom, that's your choice, and you can go find another one to flash, or better yet, build your own.

I recommend using PA GApps from this link -
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2397942
Pick the package that suits you or use whatever GApps package you prefer as long as it's 4.4.4.
Big thanks to @TKruzze to keeping the GApps updated for everyone.
**Flashing**
I use TWRP Recovery to flash roms from this link - http://teamw.in/project/twrp2/110
If you don't already use TWRP, but want to, you can flash it with the Flashify app from the Play Store,
Mobile Odin, or use the directions to install via your PC.
I haven't ever used CWM on my tablet, but if you are comfortable with it, you can use it to flash this rom.
Just make sure you have a custom recovery installed, because this rom won't flash with stock recovery.
This is my method of flashing:
- Boot into Recovery
- ALWAYS MAKE A BACKUP IN CASE SOMETHING GOES WRONG!
- Do a factory reset. In TWRP, I also select "Format Data" to wipe completely clean.
If you are just upgrading from another Beanstalk 4.4 build, you shouldn't have to wipe completely
unless you had a lot of issues on the previous build.
AFTER Backup & Wipe:
- Flash Rom
- Flash GApps
- Reboot System
*Allow at least 5 minutes for it to boot the first time before thinking it has failed.
When the Welcome screen appears, I allow at least 10 minutes for the rom to settle in. I don't touch anything.
Afterwards, I set everything up.
**A Few Extra Tips**
The following are just tips from personal experience, not required.
The regular SuperUser is included in this rom, but I always download SuperSU from the Play Store.
(Thanks as always to @Chainfire for SuperSU).
Open SuperSU, and a popup will ask you to update the SU binary. Choose OK.
If it asks you to use the Normal method or the TWRP/CWM method, try Normal the first time.
If it fails, do it again and choose TWRP/CWM method.
You will get a confirmation in installed properly.
I also download BusyBox from the Play Store.
Open BusyBox, click Install on the bottom left, then Smart Install.
If you PM me with questions, please allow me a little time to answer.

Been waiting for something like this. Downloading now.
Having some issues using Xposed on this... XHaloFloatingWindow keeps crashing the apps I try to pin to the side, and I am not able to go back to the previous build of Xposed framework.

I don't use XHalo, but when I get home, I will check it out.. Were you trying to revert by uninstalling the current XPosed and installing another version? Thanks for reporting the issue... Obviously, this is a new build and bugs are to be expected..

Is there some reason you are using XHalo instead of Halo that is built into the rom?
When I installed MWSidebarLauncher, and tried to launch an app in Halo, it only launched normally. Are you using OmniROM's Floating Window?
EDIT: I eventually found the settings to enable the built in sidebar launcher as well as Halo. But I still have issues when trying to view two apps side by side.
This is working great on my n8010 (now showing it as a n8013 lol) only issue is in settings it seems to cut off the right hand side so the sliding tabs aren't fully visible.

Can you post screenshots? I'm not exactly sure what you mean..since it's working on the 8010, I may compile for a build for it so it will show as an 8010 and not an 8013..

No, I don't use omnirom's floating window.. If I want something to open in a floating window, I swipe a notification to the left in the notification drawer.. I used to use Halo with floating window a lot, but have used omniswitch for a while, and it's so fast I don't worry about floating anymore.. There are so many settings and options in Beanstalk it takes a while to find everything lol

Ok, I understand now.. I very seldom use mine in landscape unless I'm playing Angry Birds lol... I'm going to do a new build today or tonight because some stuff was changed with the source I'm using.. I'll try to get a 8010 version out too if you would want to test it for me..

In the Xposed settings, there is a Netflix workaround.. See if that helps..
I can't find anything in xposed settings on netflix.
Sent from my SCH-I605 using Tapatalk
If you to settings, Xposed options, on the very first screen there is a Netflix work around...
Edit: I was just informed that the Netflix workaround hasn't worked for a while... The suggestion was to use an older version of Netflix.. The dev team I joined is awesome, so once they get all other major issues fixed, they can work on the other issues.. Beanstalk will get better and better as time goes on, so just bear with us for a while..
