I'm trying to install Racing Bean 1.1 on my Xperia Arc S Lt18i, problem is, after the step of flashing a custom kernel (in this case, FusioN), the phone does nothing and I can't access the CWM recovery. My question is, does it matter if I use another kernel that allows me to get on CWM, Install racing bean and then flash another kernel? Has anybody tried that? Will it affect something? o3o thanks~
You can try installing a different kernel, it won't have any detrimental effects

No. U have to flash a CM10 compatible kernel. I would suggest you to flash the CM10-FXP boot.img which is inside the zip
Download the zip from here
Then, when u flash the kernel, go to recovery, wipe cache, wipe data, wipe dalvik, install Racing Bean and when it has booted flash Fusion Kernel

What phone do you have? You probably need to root the phone and then use fastboot or flashtool to install the rom.

in Stock and CM 7.2 boot animations works fine.

If you are talking about GalaxyICS remember to flash their special version of ClockworkMod, I've forgotten to do that before and it caused me hours of buggery. All fine with it though.

Please give me a solution. the bad things is when ROM is loaded it don't going to lock screen. page goes blank and i must do Power Off and On to see Lock screen.
Wipe data/system/cache
Install cm9
Again wipe all
Reboot and go into the rom
Use a root explorer and search in media folder (i think its there) the bootanimation.zip file
If its there i think there its an option in settings that disabled bootanimation
If dont work, sorry i dont know what is going on :/
Ps. Sorry for my bad english

Do as the developer says , I remember the post stated no wipe needed.
he said NOT to wipe them so don't wipe anythn and if it works well then its great, if it boot loops then just reboot into recovery again and wipe them then reflash kernel and try again
Ya, just flash it and don't wipe anything or not it will bootloop

if this is a stupid question, im sorry, but if i have slim bean, then i cant flash a different kernal cause its not an ics rom?
JB ROM flash JB kernel, ICS ROM flash ICS kernel, see the kernel is for what android version properly, DO NOT FLASH ICS KERNEL WITH JB ROM OR NOT YR PHONE WILL NOT BOOT.

each level has its specified kernel
for GB u shall use GB kernel like cow or stock kernels
for ICS u shall use ICS kernel like arcoz cm9 or castagnal or hadi kernels
for JB u shall use JB kernel like arcoz cm10 2.3.6 or 3.0 kernels or forfivo kernels
Ya, that's what I mean

you're able to flash it and it will boot. but in JB it has different mount point with ICS so your sdcard and external SD possibly won't be mounted or mounted in wrong way. for SlimBean case, i believe it use different ramdisk than usual CM10, because my friend tested it and wifi doesn't work there although i've putted wifi module on the ramdisk
Ya? Opps sry I duno can boot cause I flashed the ICS OC kernel on JB before and it stuck on boot image
So u mean if really wan to use the ICS kernel on JB can just port it by changing the mounting point?

You dont need to repartition for custom roms, but 4.x roms dont work without the JB baseband

Try this - http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software-hacking/tweak-arkaynine-boost-script-v3-0-t3120404 and others in that forum.

Also you can install a modified kernel (like advanced (v16) or unofficial rock z1l)(for 5.1.1 .236) both works wery well and have a very lot of features
You can install thoses with a kitchen rom and i recommend you to use mx v8 + unofficial rockz1l, ALL-F2FS and overclocked with some tweaks, its really awesome

First, you need to install a TWRP F2FS recovery, http://forum.xda-developers.com/crossdevice-dev/sony/twrp-v2-8-6-0-f2fs-z1-z1c-z2-z3-z3c-t3098573, use this procedure to convert the partitions and migrate the system to f2fs(if you are coming from any rom inst .236 i recommend you to do a full wipe and not restore /data) http://forum.xda-developers.com/xpe...rial-migrate-filesystem-to-f2fs-ext4-t3004755 and install this kernel http://forum.xda-developers.com/son...ent/kernel-unofficial-rockz1l-kernel-t3274282 or other whit all-f2fs support(for the best performance) and reboot. Isnt difficult and works whit all roms[emoji108]
