Ok this section is the F&Q so if anyone ask's me a question that's been listed here, you'll be ignored.
Q:I cant find all my stuff on the sdcard, where is it?
A: It's in the 0 folder, it's advisable to move all of your stuff to the 0 folder before flashing.
Q:Where's developer options gone?
A: Go to about phone and bash Build Number until it says "you are now a developer"
Q:I flashed your rom and all of my sdcard stuff is gone..I HATE YOU!
A: Did you move it to 0 before hand?.
Q:DO i need to full wipe?
A: YES!
Q. OMG this rom sucks
A. Not my problem
Q. X Rom has X feature, can you put it in?
A. No
sdcard is working, i'll put it in the next build, i'll throw builds out everyday as "nightlies" also guys

First of all, there are some issues that stops this rom to be a daily driver. I only tested for a small amount of time due to the fact that i was in a rush to go to work. What I've tested, I guess I covered almost all important parts. There is one issue I couldn't make a logcat for it because I was running out of time but that should be easy to do - the sound.
Second of all, although this is 4.2, who said that 4.2 will not run well on our small device - he is wrong. This boy is capable of running 4.2 with stock speeds - 245 mhz min, 1024 mhz max - at a respectable smoothness. I was amazed how well it moves considering that this is the very first build. There are things that work and others that don't. The largest issue of all is the sound. Why? Because, leaving apart the fact that you can't hear UI sounds, media sounds, the biggest of all is that - you can't hear anything when you call someone and the other person doesn't hear you back as well. GSM is working, celullar data is working well - tested with the stock browser.
Here are a few things that doesn't work so far:
Menu - Manage apps - Slide to SD Card apps AND Settings - Apps are crashing both at the same location - SD Card apps.
Here is a logcat for Menu - manage apps - Slide to SDcard:
View attachment logcat.txt
Here is a logcat for Settings - Apps
View attachment settingsappscrash.txt
As we managed to do 4.1 in the past and even 4.0, we encountered issues with WIFI and bluetooth - Not turning ON. This issue occurs again in this build - It SHOULD be an easy fix to do, i guess.
Here is the logcat for WIFI:
View attachment wifinotworking.txt
Code:
E/WifiHW ( 1885): Supplicant not running, cannot connect
E/WifiHW ( 1885): Supplicant not running, cannot connect

I/wpa_supplicant( 3950): Successfully initialized wpa_supplicant
E/wpa_supplicant( 3950): wlan0: Unsupported driver 'nl80211'
Here is the logcat for Bluetooth:
View attachment bluetoothnotworking.txt
As I've said, the sound doesn't work at all. I will make a logcat today, when sdk is downloading at my work place (currently downloading at 40 kb/s) if someone doesn't do it before me.
Another small and minor issue is the following behavior - Mount your SDCARD - everthing works as normal - when the sdcard is mounted, you can notice that the text for the radio button to mount the sdcard says "Mount your sdcard". This is a very minor issue and it can be fixed easily if it is only a textbox to be changed in "unmount your sdcard". (ONE TIME ISSUE)
Will continue to investigate the build today - doing some video playback and other things that i didn't tried but so far and I mean it, it works flawlessly.
LATER EDIT:
Found out a little more issues while I was going through the logcat for Wifi:
CAMERA - Doesn't work - Module couldn't be loaded:
Code:
V/CameraHolder( 3075): open camera 0
E/CameraService( 3567): Camera HAL module not loaded
E/CameraHolder( 3075): fail to connect Camera

V/StateManager( 3075): startState class com.android.gallery3d.app.PhotoPage
Screenshot couldn't be saved - Something with SDcard issue - Maybe a path or a super user issue? (logcat coming soon)
Gallery could not load photos - External storage not mount error (logcat coming soon)
Trying to go to Camera from the lockscreen by sliding right - "Unfortunately, Gallery has stopped"(logcat should be the one above).
Other issues:
Lockscreen freezes while phone is connected with a usb cable to your PC (not in mount option)
SDCARD is not visible within gallery, file managers etc.
Toolbox - Interface - Tablet & DPI - Custom display density - Not sticking after a reboot
Thank you for a well done job, Lloir.
Your friend,
1ce.

Android 3.x Honeycomb for the Samsung Galaxy Tab (GSM)
Download Rom: GSM | Source Repository | Development Log | Donate
A Spacemoose1 production
Firstly, if you cannot commit to reading 3 posts completely, and carefully, please go here. for a quick look into your future.
Or go here for a look into your tabs future.
1) Yes, you MUST start off in FROYO, no exceptions! your reported bugs will be useless and of no help to me or anyone else. & as everyone should be following the guide, & coming from FROYO, don't expect to not get yelled at!
2) Everyone follow the installation guides in post # 2 step by step exactly!
3) This is presented in unfinished Alpha mode, for you to see what is to come and help bug test. EVERYONE needs to install exactly the same way so that they may report actual bugs, and not ones because you didn't listen.
4) Please, everyone, start off EVERY reply with your carrier (T-Mobile, Unbranded, AT&T, ect..) & country of origin of the Tab, so that it may be decided if any bugs are specific to any of these conditions.
This is an ALPHA version.
There is no 3g nor phone, among many other things (like BT, gyro, hardware accel.)
Using an alpha rom can be very dangerous. Don't just flash, because you see its HONEYCOMB, read everything very carefully first!
Wackymixing has created an excellent video of this HONEYCOMB alphaV2.5 running on GSM device.
(6/14/11)
After being up way too many hours in a row, and trying to do too many things at once, work on a new kernel has officially begun!
*what's in the oven. .
»new cwr with internal external support.
»1.2ghz
»uc ability
»reliable charging while power is off.
«doubtful, but cross your fingers for lagfix?
(6/13/11)
GSM owners. Alpha 2.5 has arrived!! (No 3g nor phone, ect.)
I highly recommend you start off in FROYO, as coming from GINGERBREAD causes crashes, and will make your bug tests not needed by me.
But, beware, changing your bootloaders is very dangerous![/COLOR]
*modded build.prop to identify itself as a Samsung Galaxy Tab as GT-P1000. - test runs, not included in cdma release
*modded audioflinger to accept dsp manager setting. (more equalizers coming soon) - test runs, not included in cdma release
*what I have planned, and currently in the works.** New kernel with 1.2, 1.4 oc
* Flexible scaling
* Attempted lagfix
* New CRW version with internal and external sd support
* SD cart mount upon boot
Until SD card load upon boot happens,
Instal Terminal Emulator from the market, and try these commands:
su
mount -t vfat /dev/block/mmcblk1p1 /mnt/sdcard/
Now your SD cards should be mounted!
(6/11/11)
GSM owners, I'm sorry to say that I have to put you off once again. The new kernel works and the crash issues have been resolved but I can't get vold to behave and the sd card simply refuses to mount at boot. The files in the repository are current though, so feel free to download and install them that way if you would like to test. You can mount the SD from a command line (adb shell) and activate UMS after boot using the following commands:
mount -t vfat /dev/block/mmcblk1p1 /mnt/sdcard/
echo /dev/block/mmcblk1p1 > /sys/devices/platform/s3c-usbgadget/gadget/lun1/file
-or-
download Android Terminal from the Android Market, and try these lines:
su
mount -t vfat /dev/block/mmcblk1p1 /mnt/sdcard/
Hopefully this issue will be resolved soon.
Edit: Also had a tester report the return of the screen sleep-state crash (power button), but the issue was resolved by flashing froyo, and then installing HC. He used the overcome 1.6 instructions. It ended his crash issues and returned his lock-screen. Just FYI.
Alpha GSM v2.5 has the following!
*A fully working tablet marketplace.
*Maps, places and streetview.
*Working audio (it needs work, but it's there.)
*The lastest version of voodoo sound integrated into the kernel.
*The voodoo sound control app.
*A couple of widgets from the Asus Transformer.
*A setup wizard that allows you to select your language at startup.
*A tablet keyboard apk that makes text entry easier.
*Multitouch.
*And a handful of stability and speed fixes.
What it doesn't have...yet
*Gyro (no rotation, there is an app installed but rotates wrong way)
*Settings window not appearing when expanding from the Notifications menu
*3g data nor phone abilities
*BT,
*gyro,
*hardware acceleration
*SD card on boot
*headphone audio
*mic
*GPS

How to go back to stock FROYO and get HONEYCOMB
Download the overcome based guide, created by thepittbull
and modded with help and permission by Sҡȳᴪʌɩҡͼṟ
Be sure to thank both, as this is an great guide.
(You will know it is going well if it goes from SAMSUNG splash screen, to dark, then your soft button lights will blink and then it will boot. - the time in between these things is hard to gauge)
TWEAKS
Tired of that red border?
1) Open up Dev Tools
2) Go to Development Settings
3) StricktMode Visual Indicator - turn it off
4) back out of app and now open it again.
5) If this doesn't get rid of MOST of the red borders, REBOOT and open app again.
WANT STREAMING MUSIC VIDEOS?

WANT IMPROVED UI AND SCROLLING?
Try adw launcher. for some reason just having it instaled helps just as much as using it.
PROBLEMS CONNECTING TO WIFI?
some users have problems with routers that use high channels. try to set your channel around 7 on router.
TV SHOWS STREAM
A very few users have reported that this does work.
Does not for me, but you might wanna try. there is a free version on market, but not our market. Google or maybe appbrain.

would still recommend on going back to Froyo, as mentioned in previous posts. There are way too many crashes and random errors if you were to start from Gingerbread.
That could change in the future though.
Sounds like it's flashing time again. Awesome stuff.

I was on CM7 before trying out Alpha 2.5 (GSM). As said, I got frequent crashes and reboot problems. Just follow Overcome 1.6's guide and go back to Froyo. And then install Alpha 2.5, you will get less crashes.

Just out of curiosity, do we refer to the GSM version as a fork? Or does that pertain just to the kernel? I want to know how to refer to the GSM version, relative to the CDMA, in the You Tube video that I throw up.
EDIT: Or, is it more of a port? Burning questions, people! Gotta make sure that we get our terminology right.

3.0 kernel required for this rom...
If you want to boot it, you need to port the drivers to an older version of kernel 2.6.25.7 for example.
How did you get it to build? I tried porting it about a week ago, but kept getting xlint errors everywhere. I gave up after whitehawkx said he'd quit with it.

Oh yeah, and I backported rotating softkeys too
First! Thanks aero!! Definitely will check this out when I get home.
So, obligatory I am on the latest cm 7.2 nightly. Might I get away with not wiping?
I mean, those changes look substantial, so I'm guessing no.

As in the old nightly 134 or the 7.2RC1? Either way, a wipe is probably needed but if you are still on 134 (which is fairly old at this point) I would definitely recommend a wipe

MMS should work, but I didn't test that (I only did limited testing since I use CM9 as my DD).
Well I have not been able to use moms even on the official build. I can send pics but cannot receive.

Great job aeroevan works awesome so far, soft key lights still go out sometimes but easily fixed by changing brightness.

Something must be up with goo cause its not letting me download, it keeps timing out.
NM just had to keep reloading it.
Amazing list of changes. I will definitely try this out when the semester is over and I don't have to worry about needing my phone all the time
Thanks aeroevan! Flashed this over 7.2RC1 and everything seems to be working great. Thanks again.
Something strange.. Root apps work fine.. but ES File Explorer will not.. I've uninstalled and reinstalled ... but when I select to allow root exploring in settings I get the prompt and I allow root access, but then get a popup "test failed" ... root works fine but not with ES File Explorer... anyone else notice this?

Can you get a logcat of the error? It sounds like that app may do something strange in its test.

The soft key lights are a known issue, they do the same thing on cm9 and aokp changing the brightness turns them back on temporarily. Aero was kind enough to give us rotating soft keys for cm7 so I just work with it. Personally I just have the setting enabled to adjust brightness by sliding across the stays bar.

CM 10.1.0 RC2 code base has been released and here it is for your flashing pleasure!
DISCLAIMER:
I am new to android development so more of a builder than a developer at the moment. So please do BACK UP your phone before you get started. If you know how to fix an issue in the ROM then feedback is more than appreciated. Bug reports are welcome, however please understand that I probably won't be able to figure out the solution without help. You can expect that CM code updates will be rolled into this ROM as these come out though.
For those of you looking for Skype audio this ROM does not yet fix it BUT I have tried the tinyalsa_audio stuff from Adam77Root and that does get Skype working just fine, but then it messes up your phone audio to where you don't hear anything or send anything out about 3/4 of the time. So we're getting close but not quite there yet... Oh and bluetooth calling was not fixed when skype worked, so there's something else wrong there...
RC1 was accidentally released with the tinyalsa_audio driver.. So this is RC2 with the "correct" libaudio which means skype is broken but calls work...
Using CWM:
1) BACK UP your current ROM!!!
2) Preform wipe / factory reset
3) Flash the ROM: cm-10.1-RC2-20130530-UNOFFICIAL-i927.zip (MD5 = 2e65e45bdc7539d5260062abdf6cd1cd) Mirror 1
4) Optionally flash GAPPS: gapps-jb-20130427-nonneon-tonyp.zip (MD5 = 13fc57e24ead77ec2613efd643af3800)
Stuff that I've noticed that looks to be fixed / has changed since M3:
- Moved over to KickAss kernel and battery life now totally rocks!
- Picture editing in the gallery is also working fine now.
- HDR photo capture looks to be working just fine also...
- Lock screen lag much less noticeable, but I do sometimes need to press the button twice...
Known issues without workarounds:
- Audio in skype is there but plays back at wrong rate (slower than normal, woman's voice sounds like a man's)
- I was not able to get my two bluetooth headsets working but bluetooth GPS works fine
Known issues with workarounds:
- GPS works great and fast but reports 0-2 satellites only, NMEA data stream seems to be incorrect, so parsing this data may be touchy in some apps
- Pictures taken by camera are shown rotated 90 degrees (then can be manually rotated within the gallery app)
Please don't report any of the above known issues. General CM 10.1 bug tracking thread <- Please check here before posting a bug report!
I'm sure there are others but I've not noticed them yet. I don't use a hands free but I can confirm the bluetooth does work with an external GPS for instance.
Change log:
20130530 - Corrected call audio issue and CM 10.1.0 RC2 code base
20130525 - Moved to KickAss kernel and CM 10.1.0 RC1 code base
20130503 - Fixed gallery pic editing, update OTA image
20130502 - Combined LiteKernel built 20130418, broke the gallery pic editing, added OTA support
20130417 - Combined LiteKernel built 20130414 into the ROM, no need to flash kernel seperately
20130416 - New LiteKernel build by bubor
20130415 - WiFi fix by bubor applied
20130412 - M3 code release, still using LiteKernel from 20130222
20130405 - Rolled back non-monthly code updates to revert this back to the original M2 code release. Corrected build environment to generate proper boot.img, No longer using the one from the LiteKernel which means that the LiteKernelManager is not messing around with settings now.
20130404 - Used the 2013/02/23 branch of the device tree and also re-synced with the CyanogenMod source. SD card mappings now match the CM10.1 later builds so recommend wiping and re-installing fresh for this one,
20130402 - Build LiteKernel into the ROM so no need to flash the kernel separately
Credits:
- KickButtowski for the kick ass KickAss kernel
- tonyp for the non-neon GAPPS package
- bubor: WiFi tether fix and new kernel that fixed data usage, image editing in galley and google now hotword detection as well as new GAPPS
- Adam77Root for the libaudio code that fixed the camera audio in video recordings
- yohan4ws for pointing me towards Adam77Root's libaudio stuff
- gtmaster303: CM 10.1 bug tracking thread maintenance
- The-Covenant team: For the device tree and vendor proprietary files
- dman3285: For the tutorial on building CM10 and CM10.1 from source, and all your work getting this setup
- thegreatergood: For the LiteKernel source and binary
If I've missed anyone apologies in advance and just let me know and credit will be added...
And here is the ling to my device tree should anyone want to follow along. Seperate branch available for the tinyalsa_audio for the more adventurous ones.

This is pretty much just a new build with all the upstream commits, correct?
I suggest everyone review my bug tracker thread before posting bugs, as these builds are one in the same rom...

Agreed.
This build is based on:
- CM 10.1 M2 release code base (released 4 Mar 2013 so the Feb ROMs are based off the M1 release)
- The-Covenant device tree and proprietary files which I assume have not been touched since end of Feb
- thegreatergood's LiteKernel binary which is the same as the other ROMs
So any issues that were related to the kernel or device specific stuff will still be there, but CM based issues may have been resolved. Case in point the audio playback lag is now fixed on my phone.
YMMV of course!
I am doing right now a backup of my current rom. I really want to see if skype and magic jack works now. I will post back in some hours.
Is bluetooth handsfree fixed in this build?
Re: [DEV][ROM][JB 4.2.2][Unofficial] CM10.1-M2 3/31/2013

In my test both headsets connected fine but one gave no sound and the other gave me only static. Not sure if the mic was working on either one. I don't usually use bluetooth so can't say for sure but I think this is still an issue on this build at this time unfortunately.

You won't "need" to but the crashing keyboard gets annoying fast. So installation of a keyboard from the play store (I used the hacker's keyboard) is a must to make this usable. now if there is a "fix" available for the stock keyboard on the JB builds then let me know what it is and I'll see about adding it to the ROM by default.
As for the memory cards, the internal is mounted as /mnt/emmc and the external is mounted as /mnt/sdcard. Not sure if that answers your question...

I was talking about these patches http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2067954
there is a patch for swap the external sd with the internal, and another for the keys in the keyboard.
Edit: i think that the keyboard patch no needed. But the Patch to swap the the external SD as internal, doesnt work. The rom never boot when i install it.
Another thing, its me, or the wifi is very very slow? i am downloading skype from the market and is taking so much.
Sorry if i wrote something bad :/
Just corrected the link to the LiteKernel, you may want to download this new link and re-apply to make sure you have the latest kernel installed. Trying to get this built into the ROM to avoid any further confusion...
Ok, i will try it again, but the skype/magicjack audio issue still exist
Just posted a new ROM build that now has the LiteKernel-20130222 built in. No need to flash separately. CM code is the same so no change there. If you already downloaded the 20130331 version and installed to 20130222 kernel then no need to re-download.
CM10.1-M3 release should be coming out shortly so do expect another update soon...

[EDIT]
Whats I found changed >
- new MIUI camera
- camcoder now works
- no overclock, now 600 instead of 800
- only deodexed ROM available (I ran an odex script, success! no Linux needed, type the commands inside the script file (sh) in windows CMD prompt)
- have you found anything other?
Whats bugs still have
- CM9 data bug
- Monitor rules (firewall) doesn't work. (iptables error exit code 4)
- LBE Guard FC when Root access action is set to ASK
- LED notifications may not work always
(Its Henry's final MIUI release, and Im too much confused bw this ROM and Marvellous CM10 ;-?

If you want the CPU freqs as in previous ROM just copy the file /system/etc/init.d/02cpu from previous ROM zip to current ROM path using file manager, set executable permission, restart phone..., check in about phone, works fine for me.. try at your risk

That's one possible solution, or just get No-Frill CPU control from the Play Store.
BTW: I totally forgot to check the comments in my blogpost, and now I've answered them.

The new kernel is working 100% for our WFS (even for old 2011 model WSF)
New features
* 15+ new CPU scheduling algorithms including Smartass_H3
