 well if you don't want to run the ruu you have to extract the rom.zip and the boot.img. I have the stock recovery here
http://db.tt/1aAq4ihB
Run the ruu WITHOUT the phone connected, it will create a temp folder (search for the newest temp folder) it will contain the Rom.zip with the boot.img inside (at least i assume that, as i never did this)
Flash the boot.img, perform a full wipe and flash the rom, boot into android to confirm that it works and then flash the stock recovery

[Q] Status 7 error upgrading from ICJ 1.7.1 to ICJ 2.2

Hi all..
Can't post in the relevant forum as this is my first post..
I keep getting a 'error status 7' when trying to flash the latest ICJ 2.2
I'm currently using IceColdJelly422 1.7.1 and wanna bring it up to 2.2..
Using TWRP 2.4.2.0 as recovery..
basically flashing boot.img via fastboot, booting into recovery.. mounting the sdcard.. copying the ROM across
then I attempt to flash and get a status 7 error..
am I missing something here?
thanks in advance

Yeah.. going through the motions now to relock.. flash the latest HTC JB rom.. then do a OTA to get the hboot in order..
this will take some time.. will update once successful..

Where did you go to do "Hard Reset" that you mentioned earlier ? If it is Factory Reset on hboot, that's the screen I want you to go. Then press power once to go to fastboot then run the CID-checker.bat

You said your device is unrooted so I guess it is not unlocked too.
If yes, only hTC service centre can help you (if the warranty still valid)
If no, you can only flash a custom ROM or restore a Nandroid backup for your CID but this is only after you unlock the bootloader.

Extract below Token.zip and run the Token.bat (just like you did for CID) don't press any key to continue.
See if you have series of numbers then yes you still can unlock the bootloader.
I'm going out now.. maybe someone else will help further. I check this thread when I'm home later (in next 4 or 5 hours).
If you have the numbers.. read this : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1598964
read and understand the Unlocking Your Bootloader part and try to do it, no need for other part.
I believe you have to install fast boot commands/folder and stuff first that's why its saying its a unrecognized command.. that's what happened to me.

If you download x3reme rom make sure you copy the boot.img from the zip to your computer and fastboot flash boot boot.img after you have installed the rom

[SLVD]HTC ONE X stuck on black screen & fastboot detection problem & charging problem
Hello friends,
I tried to update my HTC one x hboot 1.12 to official jb manually.. as i didnt notice my hboot, my update got stuck in malfunction and i finally ended in bootloop and sometimes black screen.
Now My problem is... FASTBOOT USB is not recognised in my pc (wind 7 32-bit)
(i managed it by manually using adb commands rather the toolkit)
Now when i tried to flash a hboot upgrade through RUU, I get remote: battery low error.
HELP! HELP!! HELP!!!
Will RUU mode charges my mobile? i plugged the charger in fastboot mode but it dosn't... :'(
The battery only charges with the battery script for that you need fastboot ! Or inside a custom recovery.
Try fastboot on another pc or try to uninstall and reinstall HTC syncmanager and it's drivers
https://www.dropbox.com/s/aaah8gqz8j024xz/Batt script.bat
Batt script in the fastboot folder and start it with admin rights.

my bootloader is relocked, is it possible to run the bat file *you gave* in fastboot?
i started the bat file, it stated getvar battery voltage something, then reboots, again the samething repeats... What should i do now?
Ah cool it works. Leave it running until you reach 3800-3900 mV then unlock it and flash a custom recovery to charge the battery more up in there.
Give me the outcome of
fastboot getvar version-main

A guide for a ruu, sure no problem. Do you have the correct ruu then ?
Install a ruu :
1: put the phone in the bootloader and relock it (if it's unlocked)
2: keep the phone in fastboot usb mode
3: execute the ruu with admin rights by right mouse button clicking it and select
Run as administrator

Can i get additional information about upgrading hboot. what hboot is required to flash stock JB?
At least get to 1.36/1.39. If it goes higher it's no problem.
My problems (SOLVED)
1. Fastboot not detected (SOLVED: try manually commanding rather using tootlkit)
2. Charge problem (SOLVED: with the help of Recognized Contributor Mr Hofs )
Mr Hofs Im floored on your great help. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU

alright......download this RUU :
http://htc.vi8.info/hTC-One-X/RUU_E...Radio_2.1204.135.20_release_274900_signed.exe
put the phone in the bootloader and relock it :
fastboot oem lock
Keep the phone in the relocked bootloader and execute the RUU.exe by clicking it with the right mouse button and select :
run as administrator
after that you keep the phone in the bootloader and flash this firmware :
http://arhd.onedroid.net/db_mirror/Firmware/HTC/HTC_One_X/401/3.14.401.31.zip
You copy the zip file to the fastboot folder on the pc and rename the file to firmware.zip
Then flash it via the commandprompt with these commands :
fastboot oem rebootRUU
fastboot flash zip firmware.zip (maybe its needed twice, check the outcome in the commandprompt)
Then re-unlock the bootloader and flash a new custom recovery and install a fresh new rom !
Enjoy
sir

bcz i have achieved it .. and i am now downloading the ruu as it is of 500 mb... can u please contact me on skype or any other where u can reply more promptly?

I would start on giving me some info if it all worked
https://www.dropbox.com/s/yqzlpqo8illa53j/Philz recovery 5.15.9.img
That recovery works great for me.......and a rom, well that's personal choice. Browse around in this part of the one X forum and pick one you would like.
sir
do i have to use fastboot for recovery image?
