Meltus now has Volume+ working for media volume. I just boosted my volume to the max and all I can say is WOW! I think it may be possible to blow out the speaker lol.

You can get the beta from his forum:
http://androidaudiohacks.com/forum/threads/335-VolumePlus-v2-0-BETA
Didn't work for me on the Jedi ROM though...
Hmm its odd that it says it hasnt been updated since July. I owned the app previously so when I got my note 2 i tried out and it didn't work. I went and down loaded it again last night for the hell of it and when I started the app it said in the change log that it now works with JB media volume but not system sounds. So I started playing a song and went into the app and set the boost to 10 and it worked then I set it to 20 and it went up even louder.

hi does this work on stock phones too would love to get the volume higher too work in a nosiy area and hard to hear the phone ring sometimes
If you think this phone's speaker is to low, try using an HTC phone! Their speakers are pathetic!

This phone has great speaker volume ! if you think this is bad, the HTC Sensation must permanently be speaker less in your possession
I came from the sensation and the speaker was pathetic. GS2 blows it. Although i would still like it louder lol

Any updates on this? Maybe using service mode? I can get into service mode with *#*#197328640#*#* but I cant make any changes that do anything (actually one time I made it so speaker or handset did not work at all but a restart fixed it).

Try louder volume hack or volume + from the market. Just be warned you can eff up the speaker permanently by altering the stock levels. Then you will be even happier with a blown mobile speaker lol.
I love my phone but I hate the speaker, is there any way at all to turn up the volume?

You can SEARCH for volume+ It will make your phone LOUDER
I've tried Volume+...but it doesn't appear to do anything...is it just me?

If you are in google music... While playing a song, hit the menu/sound effects and make sure your equalizer is off... Then adjust the volume in "volume+...

Volume+ (payed version) works fine for me.
In the description of the app in the market is a link where you can load it for free.
The free version dont work for me as well...
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using XDA App
the app called equalizer works too, just raise all the frequencies, can near double your volume. Does for me.
The paid version of Volume+ worked for me after I went to Settings/Sounds/Music Effects and selected Volume+ as default.
YMMV!!

Hello,
I've installed this app that claims to boost the volume on Android Gingerbread of higher devices.
One of the few problems i think my Nexus has is the very low speaker volume.
I tryed a lot of configurations, but none seems to make no difference on the speaker volume.
Has anyone suceeded to use this app ? If so, please help me out ?
Thanks !
Not sure if you're stock or wish to remain so, but I couldn't notice a different with volume +. However, with Gummy ROM and DSPmanager the speaker volume seems to be improved. My two cents.

works on aokp
Volume+ works just fine on stock non rooted. Someone will post how, or just search its been covered a million times.
I use equalizer by smart apps. Load custom preset and Max out each freq, your volume will double.

I use aokp milestone 4, and here nothing happens when i increase the volume in the app... did you do anything else ?
Did you get the free or paid version? The free version only goes up to a +4 boost or something. The paid version really works.

Ever since android 4.2 came out poweramp hasn't worked properly on my nexus, no matter what ROM I'm using. I've always had the direct volume control option selected in the program and haven't had issues before. But on 4.2 with that enabled whenever I first open up poweramp the music plays loud but when I change the song the volume gets real low and stays that way. So I have to turn the volume real high. Problem with that is the next time I open the app and listen to music the first song is deafeningly loud and the volume goes down once I skip the track. This problem doesn't happen if I disable direct volume control in the app but when you do that the audio quality becomes terrible. Anyone have a solution?

As you know the speakers are loud on the One. The minimum setting is very loud for an early morning
Anyone know of a more controlled volume app that could set the minimum volume lower for media?

Installed Volume+ from PlayStore - makes it just a little bit quieter, but still not enough

Or wait when devs add volume steps tweak to roms... It's nice tweak...
Really want to keep it stock. I'll get into a ROM spin if I start... And i dont want to start as i wont stop.
Would just prefer this phone as is. Still a little app would be great.

Interestingly, when I use the phone volume button rocker to change the TV volume (via the ir remote app), one push on the phone moves 3-4 increments on the tv

Right!
'Fine volume control' from app store seems to work.
FYI volume at its lowest on this phone is 8% which is rather too high.

This is my biggest bugbear with this phone. On minimum volume, both on speaker and headset, it's way too loud. I hope HTC realise this and fix it soon.
OT - does anyone else hear a constant annoying clicking through the headset, even when there is no music playing? I hope HTC fix this too.
there is a mod in the trickdroid thread to increase volume steps. i think its around post 5400
