I was at my sisters all weekend. Phone was perfect. I came home. Tried to get on the internet & now I keep getting a pop up message, about every 3 seconds, that says "shell has been granted superuser permissions"
I am rooted...
What does this pop up mean?
Restarted my.phone & still keeps popping up.

It means something is getting superuser permissions. In SuperSU you can look through the apps you have given permission to. You can then modify their permissions, i.e. block apps. Try blocking apps until you find the one causing problems.
Good luck finding it.

If you have superuser installed, it's a recognized issue with the developer.
Short story; root isn't sticking at boot.
You can open up the app and make sure binaries are updated or you can just apply the supersu apk. Supersu will take priority for root permissions and it doesn't hurt anything running both.
If you have supersu installed and superuser doesn't apply to you, open supersu and ensure binaries are updated.

Do you have an app the requires Superuser that refreshes after a certain interval? That could be doing. I think Juice Defender has an option for rooted users that can scan for data, wifi, etc. after certain intervals. Just an example that you might be able to compare to?
I figured it out guys. Thank you so much for your help!!

So few days ago my evo started not allowing me to update some apps, and some new apps won't install at all. Funny thing is other ones will.like my calculator app won't update, yet some other apps will.Only thing I get is notice saying, unable to install, and no other info.I havent changed anything, and I'm running a completly stock 2.2 system.so I'm clueless about what's going on.

Mine is doing the same. I'm not even able to connect to the app market. Says network error. WTF?

My phone wont connect to the market in 3g I can still browse and watch sprint tv in 3g though. I can only connect to the market and and can only sync in 4g. I rooted using the 2.2 guide
I am also running a complete stock 2.2

Try going to settings, applications manage, them go to market. Clear cache, force stop and try again. Mine was doing the same but this fixed it.

There is a bug with the market and google voice interfering with eachother, they both must be logged in to work.
Just open google voice and make sure it is logged in, if it already is log it out and then back in. Should work afterwards.
So I have tried what ppl have posted but no luck. Any more ideas?

I just fixed my friend's Droid X that was doing the same thing. Turns out he had deleted Google Talk. If you did then you need to reinstall it using root explorer, find a download of the .apk off the internet, copy it from sdcard/downloads, go to system/apps, click the little button at the top that says mount r/w, and paste. Run the installer and reboot the phone.
Still no luck, and what is the google talk? I don't have an app. Like that

still looking for a fix, any one have a guide to some common fixs.
Same Problem but can't seem to fix it without flashing a custom ROM...
I can't install most updates to apps or new applications. It usually says "update unsuccessful" or "installation error: unknown reason -18." Any ideas?
I have my G2 perm rooted but it seems like every time I start an app or service that requires root the pop-up comes up various times until it finally gains root permission. I hit "allow" every time it pops up but it asks a few times before it works. Is this normal? It gets annoying for trying to do a backup with Titanium since it'll ask me to allow for every app it tries to backup and sometimes asks various times for a single app. Thanks for any help.

Try to open your superuser app and tap the setting, at the last line, tap it to let it check the su version and update it.
I did these to fix the problem which same as yours.
Hope it helpful.

Need help, my wife's phone is stock srf 1.2 and it was running smoothly for awhile until now, randomly at the begining of making a phone call she is getting process google gapps or framework services stop errors. What is the best way to fix this without having her lose data from her apps?

I will try this later, what if nothing is force closing? The error just pops up and then lets me close the popup window but the phone call or text message still works. It also does when my wife unlocks the phone and I just click ok on the popup and the phone will unlock and go to the home screen.
Sounds like you need to enable journaling
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1071723
You might have to reflash for this to work correctly. Also did you freeze anything in Titanium or another application?
Quickest fix I've found for that Is to just re flash the rom works like a charm....u can even use the ACS Updater app in the market downloads and does the flash for u quick easy and painless

Is anybody getting this on FI03? It slows down my phone and won't go away till I reboot! Also I did do some searches and read a few topics about it on different devices. Seem to be common on ics roms. Some people suggest using supersu instead. Any feed back on supersu and if it has the same issue? Just trying to find out before making the switch.

I already updated the binaries just was waiting on some feedback before installing supersu. Going to go ahead and do it now. Hopefully it does the trick. I've already hard reset my phone twice and same problem.
Update: Just want to say getting rid of superuser and installing supersu fixed the problem. I guess after many years of running superuser it's time for me to retire it. I actually like the look of supersu better. Anyways just in case someone else has the issue in the future that's the fix.

I got that message every few seconds and have nearly 200 entries in the SU log in about 2 minutes. I had to reboot.
While it was happening my phone slowed and stuttered a bit. Searching didn't really help much, just suggestions like reinstall SU or ROM.
What is shell and why was it hijacking my phone?
I was listening to the walkman at the time and there was no other app requesting permission.

Yeah I got that sometimes too. Rebooting seemed to help, but I still don't know the cause of this.
Had this problem also. What's the last app you use with superuser permission?

Try uninstall, reinstall and re-grant superuser permission?
I got this message when I rooted mine and then plugged it into my computer with flash tool running... I think flash tool needs it to see of you're rooted or not
