maybe this is out of my league...
but is it pretty much as easy as extracting the images, changing there colours (maybe using photoshop??) and then re packaging and updating my hero?
if its not too much harder could someone point me towards a guide, or if im smack on, lead me to the apk i have to extract? theres no "sense" apk and i did not find any images in the rosie apk!
i would really appreciate this, thanks in advance
im jus using winrar to extract the apk's, so far i have found alot of the images but i havnt come across any that id like to change

ok so i was looking through and have started to figure out how they sorted all there files... but i was wondering if there was like universal png's somewhere? cuz it seems like every apk has its own black bar at the top (for the pull down tray)
maybe this is in the wrong forum?
try looking in the themes thread, i am sure I saw a guide to creating themes somewhere...

As I'm a bit old fashioned guy I'd prefer more lines of contacts per screen instead of useless contact pictures I've modified contacts.apk a bit. As you can see from the screenshots we've now more lines per page and only small frame for pictures (for those who can't live without).
The mod works on stock LPQ, de-odexed not necessary.

Will try this out. Any chance of modding the Favorites too ? And putting the contacts tab on phone.apk ?
I'll look into 'Favorites' and also the groups list, but putting contacts onto phone would be behind my capabilities.

Without picture should be possible, though haven't tried yet. But I wonder whether swiping left and right (for calling and SMS) will still work w/o picture.
For the sources: It's all done within dimens.xml and styles.xml. Or are you asking to upload them, wouldn't be a problem either?

I'd love this too. Is there a chance of having the old Gingerbread contacs and dialer on ICS? I wanted to create a thread about this but Am a noob .

hi mate,
ive been working on the exact same thing on my Galaxy S3 international with JB.. then ive got stuck on how to remove the thumbnails at the favorites list view, and started searching and found your thread here...
sooo, did you ever manage to find where the favorites list is generated? i would really like to know

yeah ok. thanks for answering though.. well, i dont use favorites either, but hate to do things half..
ive been thinking it might be coded in the smali files, which i dont have a clue on what to change, and/or where..
but if i find a solution ill let you know, though i currently doubt i will find it.....

Hey guys, i'm working on the same thing.
I am trying to put that favorites tab on hell and put the phonebook on replace.
If someone would like to help, lets go:
First i decompressed my actual contacts.apk to edit.
Then i decompressed the contacts.apk of an other rom that have already the contacts on the favorites place just like we want.
So i will upload the decompressed Contacts.apk so u can help me analize the file and find out where in the code is that, so we can change the tabs.
Resume: The file attached is an Contacts.apk that already have the contacts list instead of favorites.
edit: Forget to tell i did already try to just put the contacts.apk of other rom on my actual rom, but the phone icon just gone, the i had to put the original contacts.apk from the rom i'm using to work. But i guess you all already know that we cant just put the apk inside our rom.

finally found a way to remove favorites tab from samsung dialer
Hi, I've been searching for this, but I haven't been able to find anything on it. But, can someone please post ALL the stock Galaxy SII wallpapers and live wallpapers? I updated to ICS yesterday, but noticed that they removed some wallpapers and live wallpapers (yes, I know they were removed the update prior to the ICS update), so I'd like to add them back. So, could someone please post this? I'd be very grateful.
[EDIT] - I'm posting the stock live wallpapers I found from hours upon hours of searching. I found them over a period of time, so I don't remember who I got them from. But, I am thankful for the hard-working people that extracted them so users like myself can use them.
I am still in search for the 'Nexus' and 'Water' live wallpapers. If anybody has these, please post them!

I did some searching for you and this is what I can find:
Link to XDA thread of Stock non-live wallpapers and some base apks
Link to some SGS2 Secret live wallpapers? (Never heard of this but whatever)
Best I can offer is just using the search function, I'm sure you can dig others up somewhere on here, or possibly google as well..

Thanks! The live wallpapers found in the second link are included in the ICS upgrade for the phone though. I'm still looking for the original live wallpapers that came with the phone that were removed such as Nexus, Microbes, etc.
Can somebody post the original stock live wallpapers, please? Or provide a link for them...?

I have what I consider to be a good question, well to some of you it may not be so good... Anyway here goes...
I would like to know where the stock wallpapers that come with the phone are stored? There's reasons for my asking this, one of them being I find I cannot use any image but those in the wallpaper gallery on the lockscreen, another is I would like to replace some of the images with those of my own. I have googled this but all I find are sites that want to offer me links to download the wallpapers, which I don't want to do because I have them already....

it's stored inside a apk file...name should be lg theme optimus.apk...system/app where you will find it....but i am not sure it's long time ago i replaced my wallpaper...
