Am I the only one who can't get SMS to work through Facebook Messenger app? I used to do this on my S2 but for some reason my Note 2 does not have the option. I actually liked using this app for SMS. Please help!

A bit more info. I unrooted and full wiped my Note 2 thinking that maybe some of my old data was keeping facebook SMS from working. Still no dice! I just can't seem to get SMS through Facebook Messenger. Is it just not available for our device? Can someone check and see if their Note 2 can send and receive SMS through Facebook messenger?
I'm having same issue with Sprint, stock note ii
It's working fine for me..

I would be willing to say few use Facebook as an SMS app.
Carbon Nightly | Holo Glass Theme | Crack Flasher
Go into the Facebook Messaging settings, in there there is an option to make the app your main sms app then it will work.

I love your wit and humor, usually has me laughing ^_^
However, why did you post what you posted, the thread stated something wasn't working, if it doesn't apply to you and all you can offer is "few people use it"the thread didn't post a poll so why post, do you receive Flaming notices? Funny I tell someone to be smarter when buying a device on Craigslist and I'm flagged for telling it like it is , ya know honest, no cursing, name calling, nothing but reality. But hey at least I answered the posts question ^_^

It seems that Facebook has removed the option or something. Because my phone shows no SMS setting in the settings area of the messenger app. This is true for CleanRom and Paranoid. Newest update to Messenger as well. Really want to try this out but it seems that Facebook isnt allowing it for some reason.
Works for me no problem just installed facebook home then uninstall and works great

If you still don't have it, try installing Facebook Home first. And then uninstall after you get it working.

After being a user of Tablet Talk for a year now:
1: no issues with WiFi/Bluetooth not connecting
2: no ass ugly UI
3: big developer with longtime user support and base. This is from Koush, as in Clockwork Mod and many other great apps.
4: Syncs to Tablet but the subscription also syncs to the browser and GTalk if that's your thing...
All in all I have been using app by Koush for over 2 1/2 years now and never had an issue, he deserves my $5 per year
This app is awesome well deserving of 5$ a year. The ui isn't hideous and it works ALL of the time.

Spam pushing app
I installed this yesterday evening on my phone. and then my tablet.
not 30 minutes or so after and nearly all night i get spam pushed google email address and sms to my phone... After uninstalling the app it stopped going to my phone NOW My email this morning had 13 messages everything from sex chat invites to insurance and home loan sales companies..
Is there some terms i did not read that says it will do this. Is there a hidden or secret settings.. IM VERY ANGRY Because the only way this can be happening is my phone number and google information given out. Makes me quite concerned about what rom manager might be picking up now.. THIS IS TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE .. I would think a Developer of this caliber would not do this ...
PLEASE Respond rom manager......

Sorry to hear that, I tried to search tablet SMS on gplay and the top result was for mysms and my mysms tablet, when I searched tabletsms up came the OP version,l.
After seeing your post I decided to try mysms, it only needed my mobile number and a password nothing else, it took a few minutes before syncing sms' on first run to my N7, but it works great, don't think it supports Bluetooth, for me this would be an extra luxury than a necessity at this moment in time.

I dont think Koush would ever do something like this. Im not calling you a liar or anything but I have been using apps developed by Koush and ClockworkMod for years as well as using DeskSMS now for a few days and i dont have an issue.
I would contact him before saying that he did something that may or may not even be his fault. Trust me with the access that Rom Manager has or Clockwork Recovery has, spamming a user with sex messages is the least of the damage he could inflict... just saying
*could it be you signed up for something else and not Koush's (ClockworkMod) TabletSMS?

ChompSMS, I love how it renders picture messaging to full screen. Opposed to the stock which looks more like a thumbnail. GOSMS was to convoluted with options/themes for my liking.

I don't like the vibrate options because when selecting vibrate in the SMS app, it vibrates in sound mode and vibrate mode. I only want it to vibrate in vibrate mode like my GS3 did on ICS.

Do you use the default built in one or another?
I was using samsung's default sms app but just went back to what I was using on my dell streak which is Go SMS Pro.
For some odd reason every once in awhile my default sms would sometimes freak out and show no messages at all until I restarted then a lot of messages would be missing after I restarted.
Hoping that Go SMS Add's a split view like the default sms.

Hangouts has already replaced talk, and I personally think it's loads better, if only more people used it I would definitely consider it a possible whatsapp replacement.

It has replaced it, yeah, but you can still use the old Gtalk if you want.
G+ messenger will be gone with the new G+ update.
I used google talk a lot for work, so was kind of worried about this change overall...as i don't use G+ for anything (nor fb for that matter), but also liked how google talk on my phone, and gmail's browser conversation thing sync'd easily...
as far as the android hangouts app, whatever...it works, didn't really care what it looked like...but i will say the chrome extension for hangouts is much better than how gmail integrated. I can now have any number of my work/home machines connected to hangouts without having gmail opened. Not sure if this is how G+ worked before, as I wasn't going to bother using that.
I'm still learning it...but also prefer how hangouts doesn't seem to be archived into gmail automatically...you can set it up to do that, but it doesn't just default to dumping a pointless 3 line conversation into 'all mail'...I know you were able to change all that with google talk, just didn't feel like messing with it.
So whatever in my case...its definitely not worse for me. The bigger problem still is, and always will be, the trends of what people use. I still get numerous fb messages a week despite it being obvious that i'm never on there...then border line threats for ignoring someone haha.
Are there any apps like the facebook messenger like the notiffication system it uses where a little chat bubble pops up and overlays whatever screen its on?
