My sister has a SGH-T989 with Android 4.0.3 rooted. She want to install a custom rom, so i searched in the development forum but almost all the roms topics said that the rom is for Android 4.1.2. I tried to update her phone using kies but it didn't find any android update. So my question is, how do i upgrade her phone's android version from 4.0.3 to 4.1.2 so i can install a custom rom? i'ts necesary or i just can install that roms in the 4.0.3 phone?
PD: What rom (stable) do you recomend?
Thanks, and sorry for my english.
You can just instal a jellybean rom it has what it needs to run. And personally i like the unofficial slimbean but you just have to find whats best for you

I'm a noob to galaxy nexus since I just got the phone.
I have unlocked, rooted stock 4.0.2 on the phone.
I also installed cwm recovery and the question is can I install any rom that has 4.0.4 from cwm or do I need to do something else before installing the rom?
You're fine, flash away.
You have all you need.
Just make sure to wipe / factory reset from CWM before flashing the ROM

I thank you for the answers. One more question if don't mind.
if I upgrade to stock 4.0.4, how can I downgrade back to 4.0.2?
Also always do a back up in case you mess something up

You can just flash any stock rom just like any other rom. Not sure why you'd go backwards though, 4.0.4 is much better with fixed bugs and smoother etc.

I know how to install. The question was is it ok to install 4.0.4 rom from 4.0.2 stock.
Hello I would like to try a ROM based on ICS to do some tests, but I have now a exactablemente Rom 4.1.2 JB, I wonder if there would be any problem if I install another rom based on ICS 4.0.4 exactly.
Greetings and thanks
Nothing will happen, I do it all the time

system v poll
I thought I would be nice for developers to have a poll to see which version of android most s3 users run.
so they can see what is best for developing new mods, It is just a idea please let me know what you think :good:

I mean, at least in logical, most used ROM is latest one or two 4.1.2 firmware, and newer 4.2.2, because, mostly I think in this forum who were running leaked 4.2.1 will update it to 4.2.2

I think this thread should be in General Section
This is Themes and Apps section
And well, I am on leaked 4.2.2

there is no best or worst , always personal perception.
If you want to measure the Android versions, you maybe should also include the firmware versions. Nevertheless most devs upgrade their ROMs to the latest firmware versions anyway, be it 4.1.2 or 4.2.2.
I am running Liquid 4.2.2

yes, i agree with you. thats my personal perception. before this i only used stock 4.1.2, just after the leak was out, i flashed and find this 4.2.2 rom is very smooth compare with stock 4.1.2.
now i used custom 4.2.2 sotmax beta 5.
Miui note 2 edition...very smooth with sammy camera multiwindow and lot of good things

Devs are hardly likely to read Themes and Apps for a what rom build poll .
Devs build what they decide and users follow .
Poll like this is rapidly out of date with new builds .

Has anyone tried to flash this rom?

If you try it you know and if it doesn't work you can always reflash your current firmware ... just make sure to make a backup

Update Galaxy S4 I9505 to SynergyROM Android 4.2.2 Custom Firmware
Samsung Galaxy S4 receive new SynergyROM Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean custom Rom update. You can now easily update Galaxy S4 I9505 to SynergyROM Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean which is a custom Rom based on official Android 4.2.2 .
I recently got a new Galaxy S2 Epic 4G touch from Virgin Mobile (Build D710.GB28), and it comes with stock android 4.1.2. And since I had been using 4.2.2 in my nexus device I dont really like the 4.1.2 look. So now I want to flash 4.2.2 in my S2. But the problem is I couldn't find any post specific to my build. There r other instructions but those are for previous build and most of those instructions seems to have centered around ICS as their stock android. So is there any post that has instructions specific to my build. Has any one flash 4.2.2 on 4.1.2 in a Virgin mobile S2. Or should I just double flash, 1st ICS and then 4.2.2.
Please Help!!!!!
Thank You
Our phone comes with android 4.1.2 not 4.2. Go to original development and try out cyanagenomod 4.2.2. Make sure your rooted, have a recovery installed and then flash rom, gapps, and a ICS modem. (Get f15 zip file for modem)

Flash the ICS modem. It will work on stock JB as well. Then flash your rom of choice.
I use CM10.1 on a Virgin Mobile S2 as well.
