I was holding off on rooting my phone but being a past flashoholic I am thinking about finally rooting and installing a custom ROM on my phone.
Can some one suggest a good ROM that is not heavily themed (I like the stock look of TW), is debloated, maintains the s pen features, multiwindow and is actively being updated?
It seems the most actively updated ROM is JellyBomb but I dont think I can handle the blue.... So far my best bet appears to be Macks ROM. Any other suggestions???
Thanks!

Use Macks rom then a lot of people have been happy with it
Just make a backup and give some roms a go

I'm working on getting tablet mode on twiz roms. Ive gotten the UI forced to tablet but the sizing still needs some tweaking
Its called cannibal cuz I've taken all the good mods from different versions of android and cannibalized them into one rom. It looks and functions like an aosp rom but still has all the twiz features and frameworks and once I get tablet mode stabilized it'll run like PA with per app density and the choice of phone/phablet/tablet systemui

Macks jellybeans port is da bomb! Aosp look but still tw based, with tons of customization options. Really got no complaints with it

My biggest problem right now is the layout resizing the status bar looks fine but the notification panel is all jacked up. Icons and text are too big so when you get a notification you see the title and like 3.5 words in the spot and about 1/4 of the icons. I haven't been able to figure out whats causing the sizing issues yet. Changing the dpi helps but its still way off in formatting

i wonder if its possible to pull the MIUI lockscreen into a sense rom. i dont like the "click-on-colored-babyish-iphone-icons-style" of MIUI but the lockscreen is awesome!
Any ideas if there is a way to do this?

Run launcher pro with MIUI and you won't have to deal with those "colored-babyish-iphone-icons"

Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't they still show that style on the app drawer or if placed on the homescrens?
I like a lot of things with the MIUI interface, but the thing that drives me away is the iphone-esque menu when you hit the menu button. I love the phone/dialer though.
MIUI should be enjoyed as a whole product, not in bits and pieces. But I'm sure someone could do it for you.

Laucher Pro will let you replace the icons with whatever ones you want when you put it on the desktop - there are plenty of apps out there that will allow you to change the look of the homescreens - but if it really is the menu system you don't like then hopefully someone can try and port the lockscreen for you
(FYI - here's my Incredible running MIUI and Launcher Pro)

i was thinking of making this exact thread. it would be great to get that lockscreen but I was reading somewhere that it is non-trivial to port it to CM6

Non-trivial? So you're saying it's important to port it to CM6?
If that's the case, it could be ported to MIUI as well, since they are both AOSP roms.
Unless of course you mean trivial, which makes more sense...

Non-trivial in this sense means not easy. From what I have read, the lockscreen is pretty tied in to the Rom.

Yeah, this would be incredible if this was possible. I enjoy MIUI, but it has its pro's and con's. I really LOVE the lock screen, but on the other hand I really am not a fan of all the white/light grey system menus. With the number of people that are obsessed with theming their Android devices I'm surprised there isn't any option to change all those menus to a darker scheme.

Anyone have any luck with a port of miui? I would love to test it
LeWa OS PORT!
This port is based on the Stock LeWaOS Rom and CM7.1
Features:
-Android 2.3.7
-Based off of CM7
-CM7 Theme chooser (as well as built in theme chooser)
-MIUI style
-Fast/Snappy!
-Maybe a little outdated (lol, gingerbread) but It's still fun to mess with and was a cool easy project for me!
Working:
Everything! (Too my knowledge, please report any bugs!!)
Bugs: [POSSIBLE BUG] Roaming Indicator-I don't know because I don't get very good reception where I live

Looks cool. I saw in the OP you mentioned Roaming Indicator On issue
As a temporary fix you can decompile framework-res.apk, navigate to /res/values/strings.xml and search for that text, change it to "Sprint" the recompile and make a flashable and it should replace that text with "Sprint "

We really need to convince the Boot Manager Devs to support the Nexus S 4G. I used to have it on my Evo4G and could test drive ROMs like this without ditching the main one.

GUI
Great interface and custom apps. Needs improvements in stability also no mobile data on this rom.
Hey guys,
Since CM10/CM9 are still plagued with bugs, the need to stick with a stock Touchwiz ROM persists. However, coming from a Galaxy Nexus, I very much miss the stock AOSP interface.
I know there are plenty of themes available such as THIS ONE & THIS ONE but I still haven't found one that gets the entire UI to replicate the look of AOSP exactly with the proper homescreen icons, apps, notification icons, battery, clock, ICS camera interface, AOSP Messaging interface etc.
Here is what I have so far...
ROM - FreeGS3 R5
Apex Launcher with ICS theme
ICS Blue Mod v3 (changes status bar to be more AOSP like)
Camera ICS
exDialer (with excontacts for AOSP phone interface look/feel)
ICS Keyboard
Even with these mods the look is still a bit off as many apps are still Touchwiz themed when opened and the toggle buttons in the drop down menu are still colored in HD. And I haven't found a fully functioning lockscreen replacement that provides the exact look/feel of AOSP Jellybean without adding lag and/or glitches.
I'm open to any suggestions. If I have to wait for a fully stable CM10 release to achieve all this then so be it, but since that might be a while off I figured I'd give this a shot.
Thanks!
I think Intruige Rom does a good job of this on its own. I came from a Galaxy Nexus and was able to replicate most of the same look and feel with this rom along with apex launcher.

Jellybomb Domination by Josh Beach, puts full JB stuff on touchwiz roms.
Widget Locker is supposed to be one of the best lockscreen replacements. I have never tried it personally.
Looking for AOSP theme for JMTX. Does anyone have the STOCK BAT 1% MOD zip file for JEDI MIND TRICK V8? Gonna see if it works for vX. The dl links in the original AOSP theme thread no longer work. Thanks in advance!
Here's the one Im using. Its a blue theme I believe from THIS thread.

Yea I saw that, thanks. Trying out the flash now.
I wasn't a fan of that battery, and he had a darker blue that I really liked.
AOSP+LKSC+Circle Batt Mod
I don't know if this helps, but I found that I was able to use Foreverloco's theme for (TDJ's Darkside V7 evo) the AOSP/Lockscreen and Batt mod on JMTvX1 and it worked fine. At least, I am flashed, back into my os, testing the lock screen and have the Circle battery mod. The toggles are Green still, but I think combining another mod will fix it right up.
I am a little bit to tired right now to investigate further (3:45am). But feel free to PM me if you want me to share it with you.
Only glitch I found, was when the Lockscreen enables the camera, if you use another third party app, instead of the default, it will cause a hard freeze, and may need a reboot. Stick with the stock Camera app, and it works golden.
Here are pics of what it looks like.
If it's ok to share, and people give me the go ahead, I can post it here as well.
Good Night Gents
Edit: Apparently the camera issues were my fault, caused by restoring APK's from a previous OS without installing and granting permissions. So I uninstalled and re-installed and I no longer get the crash.
Short and Sweet: So far the Darkside evo 3 AOSP/Clock theme version works for JMTvX1.
I will do a field test today and see if it all works. more updates later.
Hey guys I've had my Note 3 running on stock since last year and now I'm getting kind of bored of it. I want a ROM that either looks like stock Android (AOSP) or at least doesn't have the touchwiz look. Maybe something customizable. BUT I would like S-Pen features to work if possible (I heard they don't work on non-touchwiz ROMs). I really like pen window (the one that lets you open up apps in small windows).
Also I definitely need multi-window.
I think I am basically looking for a touchwiz ROM that looks as closest to AOSP as possible.
Any suggestions?
You could always flash a touchwiz ROM and then flash an AOSP theme to it.
I flashed this ROM and flashed this theme

What do you use the pen window and multi screen for? Just curious, I'm looking for ways that I could possibly use them that I haven't thought of.

I'm a college student. Sometimes I'm too lazy to bring my laptop to class, so I use my phone. I have a textbook open in one app, and notes in another. Pen window for a calculator. Works pretty well!
Another use for multiwindow is if I want to screenshot information from two apps at once.
