Please, keep this thread friendly, clean, and respectable. You are all more than welcome to have casual conversations in my thread, so long as you guys don't break any rules, and help out others that ask questions. I will be participating too. I'm not the kind of dev to make (Or kang, in this instance) a ROM and then leave you guys. I am more than willing to help you guys out, just please don't insult me, or others. And please, don't 'flame' me for not compiling this ROM from source. I am working on a source build as we speak, and intend to update the ROM further down the road from actual AOSP source, versus 'Kanging' CyanogenMods. And I know Kangs aren't typically accepted in this community, but this is for the kind of user who wants amazing audio quality, a reliable source, and constant updates. If you don't like this ROM, please give me some constructive criticism, instead of making fun of me for Kanging.
Anyways... Enjoy! And feel free to ask questions. Just don't repeat them, or ask them in a rude or demanding manner.

ROMs working great so far. How does the OTA Updater work when you release new versions? The only thing I seen was the stock cm updater.

Ok, just checked. Changed nothing but the name to just "Android", left secutity settings the same. Changed pw to what i always use, and it connected with no issues. So can confirm wifi tether works just fine. Only issue ive had is verizon apps dont work. Anyone got the apk that enables it? Last week, i accidentaly formatted internal storage. Big no no, lost my go to apk.

Glad to hear. the OTA updater is an app that will notify you when there is an update. You will find out tonight the app should be in your app drawer (someone verify please)
As far as the WiFi tethering goes, its out of my hands. It is broken on nearly all ROMs, I'll try giving it a look and seeing if I can find the problem.
Anyways, there will be an update tonight after I get off of work. Thank you all for your support! I'll upload GApps tonight as well.

Managed to get this rom installed with the latest franco kernel nightlly #361. So far everything seems to be working the same as the previous rom I was on. Which was the latest CM nightlly and franco kernel. One thing I would like to mention is my mac id issue is gone with this ROM. Ever since I got my GNEX and started using CM roms, my mac id would change every time i rebooted my phone. Now it's static again. Not sure what you did with this one considering it's based on the last rom I was using, but please dont change it in the future builds lol.

[Discontinued] [AOKP] [Linaro 4.8.1] [AWESOME AUDIO] [Hercules]

So I've done some remodeling for a bit and I've now decided to create a little community on Google Plus where we can informally address issues with things I do and ideas for more things I can try.
This will be discontinued but make sure to join G+ and follow me there!
Here is the link to my G+ community. https://plus.google.com/u/0/communities/107891541077154929804
Also I've decided that goo.im has such a high user demand that I've decided to use COPY for all of the future build releases. You can still find my stuff on goo.im but I'll primarily focus on uploading things to COPY. Here is the link to my COPY account https://copy.com/eQvTcgdXKB0g
Trademark Features: (Included in all ROMs)
- Linaro 4.8.1 Keychain for Framework
- Awesome BEATS
- Noozoxide
- A cherry picked arrangement of audio drivers!
[ROM LINKS]
All Builds can be found at http://goo.im/devs/Cl3Kener/AOKP
Installation instructions
1. For best results a FULL wipe is required. Please back up your ROM before you begin!!!
2. Download any of the above links
3. Reboot into recovery with TWRP or CWRM
3. Flash the ROM and flash latest Gapps
4. Reboot
5. Navigate to Settings>Sound>Music effects and make sure to select Awesome BEATS as your default!
6. Tweak Beats Audio and Noozxoide EIZO to your liking. (I prefer enabling Extreme Bass on Awesome Beats and Large-II on Monitor size under Noozoide) This will create a Huge Bass Sound!
Note: You may want to turn the volume down first and slowly raise it up so you don't blow your headphones or speakers.
Upgrading
For an upgrade to newer version you can "dirty flash" by rebooting to recovery installing the update then wiping cache and dalvik. You might get a few fcs after "dirty flashing" so make sure to fix file permissions afterwards. I recommend using ROM Manager because it does the most thorough job!
If the keyboard is not working right you can fix it by flashing the AOKP KEYBOARD FIXER
Special thanks to:
- AOKP team for the base!
- The creators of the audio drivers! (Team AC1D, the Awesome BEATS guys, etc)
- Eli Billauer for creating Frandom
- Android88 (For always being so helpful and encouraging!)

I'm kind of confused about what you meant by building from source. I thought I was building from source all along from my first builds to these here. For example, if you look at the kernel it will tell you it is built by [email protected]
I guess you should probably know a little about me and my geeky background. I've been an Ubuntu geek for years (since 2007) and I can use terminal in my sleep. I figured out how to build via terminal commands in about a day because it seemed similar to the commands I run in Linux. I started because I was tired of downloading cm nightlies. I recently learned how to edited the list of apps for these builds and I tweaked the GCCs so it would compile this ROM the way I wanted it. Is that not building from source?
I don't want you to think I'm upset by posting this. I'm just curious as to what building from source means to other android devs if what I just described is not in fact "building from source". Maybe my terminology is incorrect and I need to update my vocabulary from Linux Desktops to Android ROMs so as not to mislead or confuse anyone.
Again I appreciate your help and the very optimistic comments you post everywhere! Please help me out if I'm not truly building from source so I have a better understanding of how to compile even better ROMs.

I don't know much about building from source but i do
know that the best roms on here are coming from one source
and his name is cl3kener!!! hey i respect all developers out there
but i hate when guys come with the passive aggressive bull!!
this guy has brought something fresh and different to the table.
there is room for everyone to do there thing. don't scare people away by
saying things like when are you going to build from this or that.
the important thing is that you guys keep building... the best way to win an argument
is to never have it....because even if you win you still lost...
can't we all just get along.. you guys are probably to young to know who said that..lol:laugh::laugh:
Re: [ROM] [AOKP] [AWESOME AUDIO AOKP] T-MOB Galaxy SII Hercules
I agree. CI3keener is the best if not one of the best XDA dev. Rarely in any ROM I had tried in the past has the perfection and smoothness like his build. I'm a big fans of audio mod so with that factor he is definitely own me.
Now for the update. I am running aokp 1.1 build. I can't believe how good this ROM has become. Vibration is strong. Haven't try the audio but I'm pretty sure it will be boom. One surprise, I can run sip phone now! I'm using mizudroid and set it up like I told you before. Audio recorder set to mic, etc.
Will give you more updates later.
Great job!

Help guys. So i downloaded the rom from my phone, copied it to my sd card and flashed the rom. Everything was working fine until a few hours later, my phone magically shut off and it won't turn back on.
You know that little vibration it makes when rebooting? Well yeah, it does that non stop unless i take off the battery. I have already tried going to teamwin recovery and a few seconds in the phone shuts off.
I have also tried going in download mode and i see the menu, press the volume up and in a matter of seconds the phone shuts off again. I guess i have a paper weight brick. Any suggestions?

[ROM] Unofficial AOKP: 4.2.2 (JDQ39)

This was built from AOKP source using vendor trees from TheMuppets found here:
https://github.com/TheMuppets
and device trees from TEAMBAKED - BIG thanks to them:
https://github.com/TeamBAKED
Thanks to BigRushDog for the hard work and the permission for me to use CDMATools. And also thanks for just being a cool person.
Here is AOKP website:
http://aokp.co/index.php/news
-Feel free to donate a few dollars if you have it to show your appreciation.
Here is the gerrit review:
http://gerrit.sudoservers.com/#/q/statuspen,n,z
My git: https://github.com/qnhoang81
This ROM is now using a CM kernel at moment and the source is here:
https://github.com/CyanogenMod/android_kernel_samsung_crespo
My goal is to go over to AOSP kernel once I have a little more time to work on it.
What works:
Everything as far as I can tell
What's broken?
Hmm...not too sure. You tell me.
Directions:
1) Download
2) Make a backup
3) Wipe cache/dalvik - factory reset for those coming from a different ROM
4) Flash ROM
5) Flash GApps
6) Reboot
7) Enjoy
Download:
http://goo.im/devs/qnhoang81/crespo4g
GAPPS:
http://tinyw.in/wV7n
This is the official package from goo.im that I edited so that it does not override AOKP camera **NOTEhotosphere is not available for now, so if you want it so badly that you would rather not have all of the other options, then just use the official Gapps from goo.im**
I will post a changelog when I upload a build. Not every nightly will have a changelog, but I will post them as much as possible.
Note: Please report errors and things not working. However, please test the problem without any modifications to the build first.
Also, if there is something you would like to see or you think is cool to have, I would love to test it and include it in the ROM. So by all means, request away, and I will try my best to add it. But please...no asking for ETAs
DISCLAIMER: I DO NOT OWN THIS DEVICE...By flashing this you take full responsibility for anything that may happen to the device, and I will not be held responsible if your phone steals your car and upgrade itself to a GALAXY NEXUS 4.
Have fun, and please post any problems found.

Works great so far! Thanks a lot for this.
Some issues I've found:
- CDMATools is not working. I've attached a screenshot of what I get when it opens.
- There is still an LTE toggle in the list of available tiles, which obviously doesn't do anything.
- There is no 4G/WiMAX toggle tile available.
- Fast Charge doesn't work (at least from the toggle tile...not sure if there's another way to toggle it).
Question: I imagine we can expect the Device Settings menu to change/disappear once the CM kernel is replaced?

The Device settings will be grayed out unless I hack it and add that function (which I might). Also, CDMA source were just released onto gerrit (Thanks BRD) so I will look into getting this fixed also. As far as the toggle is concerned, have you tired using the LTE toggle and see if 4G gets activated?

You don't need to hack in the Device Settings...NSTools from the Play Store offers most of the same options.
I did try toggling 4G using the LTE tile, it didn't work. The tile toggled between blue and grey, but the 4G connection stayed active the whole time, even when the tile said it was off.
BACON!!! Added Open source CDMATools. Hopefully that will fix issue. Sync to the my toroplus AOKP source, so all the cherry picks and merges should be up to date. Also added GooManager for ease of updates. Have fun guys.

As stated in my OP, exactly like Cyanogenmod.
It states that the CPU Sleeper init.d scripts are included, but what if I have the donated app/market paid?
Should I leave that app and stick to the init.d scripts u got? Or install, it wont affect but bolster the slrep mode?
Btw, niceeeeee. STOCK CM AOSP. I've been an avid follower of your builds.

Haha, I wasn't aware anyone really followed any of my work, but thank you for the kind words!
As for the CPU Sleeper script, I don't know because I haven't purchased it. But since you have purchased it, I'd recommend simply going into init.d and deleting CpuSleeper and using your premium app. The script should be okay, but you paid for an app you should use it!
I think it couldn't hurt to leave the scripts in it with the donations app.
Serious man, I follow what you post in here, you bloat out the ROM to bare minimum, and I look for those. Do far you are the only one that finds what I find and no one else.

Tried with PowerAmp, and both sides are working. Play Music again wouldn't work and crashed later on for me. So its an issue with the Rom.

That the ROMs we were on were all the same because Samsung left us with the same kernel and firmware. I also ran into some problems for using openly available scripts..but that's a story not suited for the forum and if you must know via pm.
And I'm fine with any contribution to open source man. Thanks for the help, can you get it to work on both t999l and t999? I'll edit op with credit and make this ROM supported for both of the devices.
