Today the full version of iMediaShare is free from Amazon. Just an FYI.
Sent from a timey wimey wibbly wobbly... Android thing.
i'm looking at it and i'm not quite sure I understand whats so good about it? reviews aren't even great.
care to explain?
I heard a lot of people prefer it over AllShare. I myself like AllShare. It was more of a "here ya go" to the community.
Sent from a timey wimey wibbly wobbly... Android thing.
iMedia share is more user friendly, more options. I use it instead of allshare and it just works better. If it's free nothing to complain about.
I guess i will give it a try. I use allshare plenty so if this is better that would be great.

How was it?
Flowed from my Galaxy Note 2.
He probably had a smoke afterwards lol
The problem with amazon app store purchases is when you uninstall the amazon app store, the free apps don't work any more
-Wizzle
I guess you could leave it installed right? There will be more free apps. Lol I went back to my "free" version cause I never have used the Amazon store before.

Just a heads up, quickoffice pro ($14.99) is free in the amazon app store today 11/14/11
Thanks for the heads up. I don't check amazon everyday but I do like to catch the expensive apps when I can.

Most likely the application won't run unless the Amazon App store is installed. Applications that originate from Amazon's app store tie in with their DRM.

There's no "most likely" about it, it WON'T run without having the AAS installed. As for the previous poster, you REALLY don't already have an amazon account?!

You give google access to every facet of your life including everything personal and private to you but you refuse amazon for sending targeted ads that only access your browsing/buying habits on their website? Hahahahahahahaha
Wake up. I trust amazon more than I do google (well I trust ANYTHING more than I do google actually), and even more than Apple. Amazon is a straight and clear-cut business with no aspirations about your personal/private info. Google does not differentiate between the two. It's all fair game with them.
Amazon as I know it, is a truly ethical, worthy company to invest in. They have earned my trust and money and a spot in my email inbox.

I've had Amazon App Store on my phone for 2 weeks now and haven't received any spam as a result of that yet. I check it most everyday and was sooooooo happy to see the free app today.

Yeah I guess you are right, haha. About google
HD ver too
Grab the HD version too in case you ever get a tablet. It will tell you it's not compatible with your device but you can click through that popup just fine. I show as owning both versions in my app list now. (Did this from a PC browser)

Then don't bother with Quick Office. I now have both since they were both free. Wanted to compare the two. Polaris is a far better program. Deleted Quick Office now since I don't need it wasting space.
thanks for info
There was officesuite pro for free a few weeks back. That one couldn't search all sheets in a workbook so I uninstalled it....need that feature for work.

I believe #2 is the newest. The 3rd Gen not out yet. Seas0npass the the jb to use. iOS 4.3 is what you want. Got mine off amazon and came with 4.3 installed. Another option is search eBay. They are selling them pre set up for around 139. Best part is they did all the work for you.

I can do the jailbreak stuff myself assuming I can downgrade if it comes with a higher version. So I'd be able to stream hulu and movies off the internet with plugins for free? Count me in

Hulu is ad central. I'm going to say Netflix wins here.
Netflix runs in every room in my house
Hmmm interesting
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda premium
I'd say netflix as hulu is too jam packed with ads for the same amount cost of netflix. Wish I could get the two combined into one minus the ads.
I have hulu but cant stand paying for adds plus their website is a jungle going with netflix all the way
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda premium
I had to make a choise the other day because I never used both before....
For me it came down to which has the most device support including our phone which has HDMI out to a TV and of course...
Netflix wins in this area....
So long story short....
Netflix...
I have both, when hulu plus works it works great! But the problem is getting it to work (outside of the computer, the LG tv app of Hulu plus has never worked and whenever my ps3 gets an update Hulu plus never seems to work).
Try Hulu plus out, google free month trial hulu plus and they will let you test it for a month free of charge (currently that's where I'm at and I probably won't renew it because of all the issues on ps3/LG tv).

For those looking for other options. This option would require an apple TV in each room you wanted the service but it is a small investment considering you would be able to get rid of all other services including cable or dtv. This would also include getting rid of services like vudu. Enjoy my fellow xda members.
If life was like a box of chocolates wouldn't there be a layout on the inside of the box telling you which are the good ones? Until then use Google.

I use both. Netflix, if it has it, is ad free. But hulu has all the new stuff. If you want first run programming, Hulu is the way to go. If you want movies and archived shows, Netflix.

Roku supports plug ins out of the box. Plus it is cheaper for lower models. Also there seems to be sales on Roku on a regular basis. Lower models are not bad though.

Hmm, just seems like its own App Store. Kinda dumb. Thought it was some sort of Apple-like Game Center Achievement consolidation....but its just another app store, with full price titles.
I grabbed a couple of the gameloft titles during the sale, and they don't show up in my games list, so whats the point of this thing? Not blaming OP
Yeah as soon as i downloaded and opened it, i realized that it was just a waste of space. I hate demos and dislike that it doesnt show the games i have purchased just as much. Next!

tmobile had no idea
Just got off the phone with tmobile level 2 support and they had no idea about the device coming preloaded with most wanted. He asked if I had receiced a free demo, but after explaining to hik that it was supposed to be preloaded and just not playable to launch date he said he had no idea and offered to give me samsungs number. Lame. I was really looking forward to playing this game without having to pay 7 bucks.
This is so lame. Thought at least a demo would be available for T-Mobile note 2 users.
now on the phone with ea
Ea seems to have no idea either. But im stilk waiting on the line so we will see. Up next is google play store.

It will be resolved when app develops resolve it.

Considering that the OS has been around for a bit over a week I'm amazed at how many apps ARE compatible.
If you have mission critical stuff, by all means go back to or stay with 4.2.x until the specific developer updates.
Otherwise enjoy the new OS and be patient. The good Devs are on it...

Use Google currents and add Engadget under the science and tech section. I never used currents before, but its quite convenient once you get all your reading apps incorporated in to it.

Well worth it being without a few apps for awhile.
This is the price we pay for being the very first to get these updates. I don't mind it myself but for those that are bothered just wait for a free weeks before upgrading next time to give the app devs time to catch up.
Food anyone have the amazon store.apk? Not the app store but the app for the regular store. I think it will work but play store won't let me download.
