Ever since ICS came along I have been experiencing linking issue with my car's Bluetooth.
While it can detect the phone, problem is every time it's connected as a media speaker device only. To remedy that, I have to manually go into the phone settings and enable the phone calls too... Every single time.
Is anyone else experiencing this problem?

Mine has not done this with my Jawbone Icon, Motorola S10-HD stereo headphones or my Volkswagen Tiguan. Perhaps you might try another bluetooth device?
buletooth issue?
I had try different device and do the same thing, like my audi q7 and jarba headset and the garmin. Can you tell me what buletooth setting you are using?
Mine has intermittent issues as well, I'm using an older Motorola 710 BT earpiece. I'll only turn on BT on the phone when I know I'm going to use the earpiece, such as when driving or needing to be hands-free. I only activate the earpiece after enabling BT on the phone, but there are times when the earpiece does not connect.... the only fix is to reboot the phone. Is that similar to the issue you are having?
I'm having issues connecting to my car. If I reboot the phone and connect it will work. But once it's disconnected and I turn bluetooth off and then back on from the phone, it will not connect. Only way to fix it is to reboot. Don't know how to fix the issue. Never had a problem connecting my Sensation to my car's bluetooth.
My issue is similar in turning bluetooth on and off via the power widget and not being able to re-connect to my bluetooth earpiece after a few cycles. I'm wondering if it may be an issue with it being BT 2.0 versus BT 3.0 on the phone?
I thought it was my car but a lot ppl is having this issue too.
Sometimes it wont connect but it says connected so i have to go to BT settings and click where it says connected n overwrite the connection for it to work if not gotta restart the phone. :/
Tmo Galaxy S2
I'm having problems with a SoundFly FM Transmitter in my car.
At first it took forever to pair. And even when paired & connected it's really glitchy.
I'm using this mainly for GPS turn by turn over the car sound system. But because it is glitchy I can't use it because some of the directions get cut off.
I had a MyTouch 4G before. No problems whatsoever. I don't if it's a hardware or driver or BT device issue.
I'm willing to get a new FM Transmitter but not if it does the same thing.
It didn't work well on stock or rooted w/ Juggernaut rom
this is quite annoying. I wonder why this topic died so quickly, there have to be more people with this problem? Maybe has something to do with a bluetooth power saving sleep feature? Streaming music, pause music for a few minutes, incoming call gets connected but I get no sound through headset.
Tried searching to see if anyone else had observed this but didn't find anything specific. Has anyone else observed their wifi shutting off while on a phone call using a bluetooth headset? Wifi will stay connected fine when I'm on a call without bluetooth being used, but when I use my bluetooth headset, wifi will remain connected for about the first 30 seconds of the call and then basically shuts itself off until the call is finished.
Maybe it's designed to do this on purpose, but I just thought it seemed strange that it acted this way only when bluetooth was in use during a call.
Edit: Forgot to mention this is with a Verizon Galaxy Nexus.
I have the same thing happening with my Galaxy S3. It most likely the bluetooth headset interfering. I was told to try a new bluetooth headset which has fixed the issue for others but I my self have no tried it as it really isnt a big issue.
hey guys, I got a serious question but I don't know where to go.
I am using this (Charmeleon Rom v5.0.0) rom on HTC X one originally delivered by the German Telekom.
Now I don't know cause I never used my phone without this rom. (I wanted to get rid of the ugly magenta branding asap )
Now, after running my phone for a while on this awesome rom I encountered some minor issues which I do not what they are related to.
1) Bluetooth connection often drops (link with car) but not every time used
2) Bluetooth audio quality is not present, regardless if using audio playback or doin voice calls. It always sounds totally scratched and stuttered regardless of bluetooth device linked to listen to (tried PC, Ford Audio, Jabra BT Headset)
The bad side is, bluetooth is pretty much unusable to be.
3) When on Carrier Internet (WiFi disabled) often the download or connection seems to get stalled/hung and will not recover redering downloads to idle infitively. They work fine after restarting them manually though.
4) Sometimes background apps (like the SystemMonitor) exit unexpectedly before they get restarted by the services automatically. Weird thing but not a big issue at the moment as it seems to happen to this background process only.
5) Beats audio sometimes shows up sometimes it doesn't (yes, always with packaged headset of course)
Does anyone face similiar issues? Does anyone of you know about this issue? Do you have any suggestions on what I could try to fix these issues?
Do you need a screeny of any system details of my phone?
Some help very appreciated.
Just wondering if anyone could help me please, I'm having problems connecting my M8 to my car's Bluetooth hands-free it just keeps connecting then disconnecting in a loop every few seconds never had this problem on my galaxy S3. I have tried it on my friends car with a different model stereo and works fine. I am getting the latest map DVD in a few days not sure if this will help but if it does not is there anything you could suggest? would a custom ROM help I know you can change Kernel and Modem but would either of these solve a problem like this?
Thanks for any help.
I have the same problem hopefully there's someone who knows how to fix it. The only thing I found out to work for me, is to manually turn the car's bluetooth off then turn it back on. Then the loop stops for me. But its kinda annoying to have to do that every time I start my car. I own a Nissan.
Had this problem with my mazda. Turn on bluetooth and go to the settings. Hit the menu button and select advanced. Make sure you allow files to be transferred over bluetooth. I can't look at the exact setting at the moment.
Try again to pair. It may take another try or two. This resolved my issue.
Followed someone's advice here to Turn on Data Roaming to avoid data connection drops.Did it a couple of days ago despite the recommendations of T-Mo tech support. Seems to have stopped data connectivity issues, at least have not had a drop since...
A new issue did resurface though, not sure if related. If I'm on a call on bluetooth in my car and another call comes in, the sound automatically switches to the phone before I even do anything (although the other car audio sources - ie radio - remain muted ). I have to manually change Audio Source to the phone or speaker and then change back to the car. Anyone else having this issue? Did not have this problem with an M7 in the same car.
