Hey guys so this is weird... every time I flash an AOSP 4.1.2 ROM (CM10, paranoid 2.55, slimbean) it ALWAYS ends up in a bootloop. Like the bootloop isnt like I had it on sgs i9000. It gives a short, weak vibration while on boot animation screen. It doesn't bootloop if I upgrade to AOSP 4.2.1 but bootloops when doing 4.1.2... yes I did wipe data, (not /data/media) wiped system, cache, dalvik before flashing the rom.... please help

Maybe something wrong with how you rooted your device?

Nope, because I was running rooted stock before flashing cm10. Right now I'm running rooted stock with ktoonz kernel.

I too am having this issue.
Wipe cache and dalvik cache. Then flash the ROM again. Boot it up.

When installing a new ROM you have to do a full wipe, oh and stay away from the franco kernel a lot of people are having problems with it

? I don't have any problems with it as many other people are using Franco Kernel on JB and ICS based ROMs... please don't make false comments without any proof.
Hi, in the last minutes i've flashed the 2.7 build of LiquidSmooth Rom from the Paranoid Hello Halo rom... I've done the prcedure like XDA said : Wipe Wipe Wipe (cache, dalvik, system) Flash Rom Flash Gapps. It booted fine but all my apps that i've had on my previous rom was still there... all of them. The most disturbing is my settings were also like I've left them ( disabled pie wifi etc) also my Google Accound was already setuped and good to go. Is it a new feature from flashing 4.2.2 rom to an other 4.2.2 rom ? I've never seen that before. I've also rebooted to make sure it wont boot loop on reboot, and it booted like a charm!
Any clues ?
Weird, never seen that before. Tell us what recovery you have and exactly what you are wiping. Can't think of anything else at the moment I'm sure others will chime in.
Sounds to me like you're not wiping /data. This is where your apps and setting are stored and unless you factory reset using stock recovery, deliberately wipe/format /data, or flash a Rom that wipes it for you, all your apps and settings will remain.
Seems like normal behavior to me.

Got it that's why. I was sure wiping system would wipe data too. But do you think its dangerous to not wipe data? Because actually my ROM is rocking right now without issues? Should I reflash it for safety?
It just depends....
It's always best to start clean, especially if you were having problems. But if you want to keep data intact, you should be ok as long as you don't go to an entirely different rom, base, or build.
If you are updating to a newer version of the same build, you're fine. Also if updating to a newer build/version you should be ok, but may have a few hiccups.
However, anytime you go backwards (4.2.2 to 4.1.2) you should wipe it all. The same is true if you are moving to a different base, such as CM to TW. Keeping your internal sdcard data is usually ok, but sometimes it can cause some issues.

i'm using the 4.3 version for sprint aosp roms, i tried it with both pac-man 4.3 and carbonrom 4.3.1, both of which are aosp roms if i'm not mistaken. i know the phone can boot kt747 because it booted it when it was installed via aroma with M.O.A.R., but that was the 4.1.2 version. my phone can run 4.1.2 stock unrooted, the whole reason i'm doing the ROM thing is so that i can run the latest and greatest. but when i try to install kt747 i just get stuck on the boot screen. i wiped dalvick, cache and fixed permissions. i get to the kernel screen, then it just stays there. what the hell? i'd like to be able to fast charge, undervolt and overclock

Download the Kernel again. Verify the MD5 Checksum.
Boot into Recovery
Wipe Cache
Wipe Dalvik
Flash the Kernel
Wipe Cache
Wipe Dalvik
Fix Permissions
Reboot.
Or maybe your phone don't like it. Happened with my wife's phone.

I recently tried installing probam rom v4.4.9 from xda threads and followed all the instructions. everything worked fine up until the thread said to reboot the phone once more, anyway long story short i rebooted it and it was stuck at the galaxy note 2 logo (white letters black background) it was stuck like this for around 5-10mins at which point i pulled the battery and decided to go back to using rootbox rom.
Is their anyway i can install probam rom without this happening again?
I've also tried downloading and installing probam version 4.5.0 from their own website following the instructions given on xda, but once its booted from twrp it'll work until i have to reset, at which point i am back to square one, being stuck at the galaxy note 2 logo.
I have also tried installing pacman rom because i would like to use a 4.3 rom but the same thing happens, the rom will work fine until i have to reboot or it randomly reboots and gets stuck at the note 2 logo.
the only roms i am able to use without this happening are moon rom v10, rootbox rom and carbon rom, only thing is i would like to use different roms and check out their features, but i am somewhat limited to what i can use due to the above problem. Does anyone else have this issue? If so how did you get past it?
Haven't had the problem myself. Did you also format the system partition and not just wipe it? Wipe the data partition?
Perhaps you can try installing a stock firmware through Odin, reinstall your recovery. That might clean some thing up that keep you from booting in probam rom.

through twrp i went to wipe, format data typed yes, after this i swiped to factory reset then advanced wiped clicking cache, dalvik cache and system, if i've done this wrong could you please tell me how to do it the right way as i'm not really sure how to, thanks in advance :highfive:
i did what you told me to and flashed a stock rom through odin, went through the whole rooting process and flashed probam 4.5.0 again and this time it worked!! But no signal at all
I use Samsung Grand I-9082. I don't know much about android's workings and followed a youtube video to root my phone. I was then on 4.2.2 and then out of curiosity upgraded to Cyanogenmod 10.1. It was fine so when Cyanogenmod 11 came out i flashed it too using the same CWM recovery. Since about a month ago my phone is becoming unresponsive sometimes especially at lock screen and occasionally it reboots by itself while i'm in the middle of something.
Is there any way i can go back to android 4.2 from CM 11? I should also mention here that i don't want to unroot, just downgrade to a stable rom that my phone will be able to adequately function with, without causing any trouble.
So suggest some good stable roms with dual sim capability. I'm considering gennxt custom rom.
I'm not much technology literate, so kindly give me instructions for the procedure. Thanks in advance.
You can flash any stock custom rom
Or restore your stock rom backup through cmw recovery If you have
