Hi everybody,
i just rooted and unlocked my nexus (still on stock rom, which i want) and now i have a problem with my google play store.
first of all, some years ago i had an HTC Desire which used the same google account, now i have a nexus and before rooting and unlocking the play store on the PC (in browser) showed my nexus as a device ( i was able to choose nexus or desire when installing apps from the browser).
now, after the unlocking, i had to sign in to my google account, which i did like always, but now there is no nexus device listed in the browser play store, only the old desire!
the play store on my nexus works fine and normal. but i loved the comfortability to install apps from the pc.
am i doing something wrong? how do i put my nexus back in the play store device list?
it's a Galaxy Nexus (GSM), rooted and unlocked bootloader, stock ROM (Android 4.2.1), Build JOP4OD
i hope somebody knows how to handle this problem
big thanks in advance!

arrrgh isn't there another "trick" ?
after a factory reset i have to put all my data back to my phone? (sms, numbers, musik, call logs etc.)
is it still rooted after a factory reset?
isn't there a possibilty to just delete the "google data" so that i can do the account setup again?
and i am wondering how this could happen? i cannot have done something wrong, i have only one google account!?
okay, PROBLEM SOLVED !
1. just go to the settings > apps > google play store and delete data
2. go to settings > accounts and delete your google account
i rebooted, opened my play store and was asked to do the account setup! Did it, went to the play store on my PC and tada, there it was, my beautiful nexus!
thanks bk201doesntexist for your help!
bye, JonJulio

Hello I'm Sorry if im making a new thread , I have a little problem over here
And sorry if my english weren't good, but i'll tried to explain my problem here as clear as possible
Im using a Verizon Galaxy Nexus but I live in South East Asia, The problem is :
I've already inject my phone number, so it could use call, sms function, even i can use the 3g function properly in my country
but.. I dont know why the "Android Market/ Google Play Store" continue to display "server error"
I've already tried to reinstall the gapps.zip using recovery mode, already wipe cache and dalvik cache
i also already clear the android google playstore data, removing, and readd my google account- Still.. Server Error
I've check the time and date and setting too, I even already use wifi to connect, but still Server Error
I already use the market enabler too
Please, can anyone help me how to fix this thing up, Ive already spent a whole day try to fix this thing, Thanks
[SOLVED] Finally After doing this steps, i am currently able to enter my Play Store
What I do :
Flashing into Sprint Stock ROM
Root
Remove account
Create new google account
Sync on with that new account
uncheck the setting : restrict background data ( in JB it located in setting - mobile network-data usage)
touch sync account 3 times
Connect Google Talk
Until it become green (our email background)
Enter Play Store, anddd IT WORKS!
pleaseee someone help me

I think that wont work, because the problem is, my play store cant even show anything except a gray background with 2 words Server eror - retry
From what i got, the link you reccomend to me emphasize on how you remove restriction on some application in certain countries
in that case, their play store should be able to going further into the play store than me, which is can only look server-error retry
in Addition, i also have a samsung epic 4g and already injected with the same operator as my galaxy nexus does, however my samsung epic can access the play store without any trouble, so that means the problem is not the restriction in my country
Thats make me really confuse
Anyway, thanks for your response, i greatky appreciate that :good:
UPDATE:
I am already running on Jelly Bean Unofficial
I Already Reflash the gapps with Jelly Bean's Gapps
andd
The Play store keep showing "SERVER ERROR - RETRY"
This thing really got me frustrated
anyone have an answer for this? help me
SOLVED, Thanks All

(sorry for the cross-post...but this issue needs more attention)
Unfortunately i think all of us who are affected by this apparent account "corruption" on Google's servers are out of luck until this gets more mainstream exposure. I spoke with 2 Google support techs which was a complete waste of my time. The techs seem to be aware of the problem yet continue reading from scripts like robots. I've yet to read of a single account of someone getting this issue resolved where the account is corrupt on Google's servers. As with everyone else who is suffering from this issue, I'm frustrated and I see no evidence of any progress being made to resolve this issue any time soon.
Since this account is tied to 3 android devices i own...all devices suffer from the same issue.
VERY FRUSTRATING!!

Got this problem around a week ago and still no luck...
Talked to Google rep but they seems unaware of this issue and gave me the workaround posted here (non working).
The best I can do to make them update again is this (follow carefully): add the second account, remove the first account, download anything with second account, re-add first account, remove second account, and download the update.
Note that the My Apps list will be empty, I use Changelog Droid ATM, but now app can update EXCEPT the PAID ONE, even though you already purchased it, it'll show BM-PPH-01 error.
SOLVED!!!
I have this alert instead of my apps "error while retrieving information from server. [RPC:S-5:AEC-0]"
I have tried everything, then I've written to googleplay-support, after one hour everything works perfect on my account
Mine started working this morning on my phone & tablet. I had tried all the fixes to no avail. Just started working on it's own
Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 4 Beta
After the email dropped from google play support, i think my account back to normal. now i'm able to see my paid apps and able to update everything (paid and free). Seem likely problem with the new version of Play Store.
For those who still got this problem, you might need to send an email to play support. Hopefully they can reset your info at the end ie Remote Pc.
Good Luck Guys.
Had the same problem.
This did the trick for me :
Go to settings/app.manager/all
Delete data + cache :
Google Play Store
Google Play-services
Google Services Framework
Hangouts
Market-feedbackagent (important)
Then delete google-account
Restart the phone and then re-add google-account.
This worked for me.

Hello,
I have a Nexus 7 (2013) newly installed yesterday morning. Build is JWR66N. Not rooted, modified or anything else
I am able to intall apps from the Google play store (version 4.3.11) but when I go to play.google.com/settings I do not see my device and I am not able to intall apps from Google Play website.
Also, in this version of Google Play on my device I do not have the menu "My apps", like "My wish list" which I have on my Nexus 4 cell phone.
How can I get back the installation from Google Play website working ?
Thanks

Give it some time and it will show up.
Due some problems with my HTC ONE (M7) i had to return it to the store and use my backup phone (HTC ONE V).
It has been a while since i used it, but before switching to my new phone, everything worked fine.
After more then a year, i need to re-use my HTC ONE V and i want to make the best of it till i get my other one back.
But after trying to install some apps i bumped in to some problems. When i looked up the apps in the Play Store, i didn't get the apps i searched for.
Later it asked me to do updates on the apps that were still on it (since they haven't been updated for over a year) but when i pressed to update them, nothing happened.
When i noticed that, i wanted to try updating them manually but when i opened up the app page's, it told me my device isn't compatible (which is weird since the apps are already on the phone).
I tried a method i see a lot with Google Play issues which is deleting the Google Play updates so it goes back to the state it was in when i got the phone and letting it update again, but it doesn't update anymore.
When i look at my devices on Google Play in my browser, i see the phone standing in the list but it says it hasn't been used for over a year. My email is linked to my Google Play on my phone so i tried installing apps by pressing install on the browser version but again nothing happened.
Is there a way to fix this problem?
I am considering doing a factory reset if there is no solution but i would like to avoid that.

What if you try to:
* delete Google Play data?
* install the newest gapps compatible with the ROM you are currently using? Wipe Cache and Dalvik after that.
* update Google Play App in the first place?
Hi, any help would be greatly appreciated.
I decided to update Google Play Services on my G4 (android 6, stock rom) and since then, all Google apps (gmail, google keep, google play store,...) keep crashing.
I downloaded Google Play Services 8.7.03 on apkmirror and I chose the variant 440 (arm64 + arm, android 6.0+ and nodpi)
I can't deactivate or uninstall Google Play Services and I wish there is another option than restoring the entire phone...
Try a few different versions of Play Services?
Hi, thanks for your answer.
I've called a friend who also has a G4 (android 6) and asked him what is his version of Google Play Services. He has the 8.7.03 (variant: 440), the exact version I manually installed.
I saw on forums that I could try to delete my google accounts (which I did, but Google apps are still crashing and now I have a notification telling me I have to link the phone to a gmail account, but I can because Google Play Services crashes all the time).
I also tried to reboot, clear the app's data, uninstall all updates and reinstall the right version,... but still crashing.
I'll try one last time everything I've already tried and if it doesn't work, I'm afraid I'll have to reset to factory settings...
Can you just reflash the system partition and not touch user data? I think that might work.
Sent from my LG-H812 using Tapatalk
Reflash? Do I need root for that? My phone is not rooted (but I was just wondering if there is a way to root the G4 under android 6 without touvhing the bootloader)
Update: I reset to factory settings, now I have to get everything back on the phone.
One advice: never manually install Google Play Services, I've read loads of people commenting that they had the same kind of trouble.
Even if you install the right version (the version I manually installed was the exact same than my friends')
