[Q] Wont Boot just Flashes a dim Blue pules in notification area - Samsung Epic 4G Touch

i fell asleep and forgot to plug my phone in the charger and i woke up to a dead phone and i figured the battery just died ,
so i plugged it in and nothing happend so i set it down and went to work , when i got home it was still dead and no sign of life so i plugged it in over night and when i woke up it now had a really dim blue light pulsing in the top right hand corner but wouldn't respond to anything ,
it wont boot normally , download mode or into recover mode and my PC wont read it at all but it will make that blue light pules when plugged in like it does when its plugged into the charger .
Does anyone have any ideas how to fix this myself WITHOUT going to sprint ?
Or is this a total brick ?
Any suggestions will help ...

Sounds like a battery thats been drained too bad. It doesn't sound bricked. I would get another battery from sprint or amazon. Flashing blue is battery drained beyond repair(in most cases, some have brought the battery back using an external charger as well as just letting it charge). Solid blue no flashing is a brick.

i have one replacement batter i got off eBay that got the phone to fully boot and act normal then it did the same thing in a matter of hours , i don't know if the phone is doing this to the battery's or i just got a bad battery off eBay

this happens to me from time to time when i forget to charge it.messing with it n removing the battery a few times gets it back to normal for me though. maybe this is just a symptom of a bug that isnt well known yet

Desire DEAD!?

Hi having a little problem with my phone, ive taken it to a few shops and neither could fix it.
ill tell you what i did, i s-off'd my device and it worked well but i didnt like the joker boot splash so i reflashed clockwork mod recovery in hope it would get rid and it did, then i wanted to partition my SD card but realised you couldnt do it through that recovery so i went back to the alpharev recovery! partitioned my sd card and flashed Defrost 6.0k which id had running before the hd rom i had on, i then rebooted my phone and it got stuck in boot loop for some reason? i removed the battery booted into fastboot and it just came up with a blank black screen so i removed the battery again put it back in and tada no power? no led when on charge? any help would be appreciated!
How long have you left it plugged into the charger for? Leave it for about 10 minutes and see if you get any joy with the led.
If that does work, you may have the USB brick. I'm just clutching at straws at the minute though!
i have left it on charge all night still absolutely nothing
Do you get any response when you plug it into a computer? Can you see it using adb?
Me too...
My Desire stopped also working today. Practically same symptoms...
In my case the origin is different, I was on Adamg Oxygen 2.0.1. and loaded the latest kernel from Thalamus 2.6.37 R5. All good, the phone was working for a few hours without issues. Went to sleep and left the phone charging (as usual).
This morning the phone was off, no way to turn it on. No led on charging (probably because batt is full). I can see the leds (green/orange) when on charge and batt off, but it doesnt start, no way to force start to recovery (power+vol-down), no view from laptop via adb, in fact it doesnt even identify the device, which I guess is natural if the device is not starting.
Needless to say that any ideas are more than welcome...
I'm not an expert but it might be dead battery aswell, no idea why people leave their phones charging all night long.. i charge my Desire from about 10% to full in like 1 hour.
u need to take out the batt an see if u can charge it whitout using the phone to charge it
First, thanks for taking the time to reply...
For reference, the batt is full, I checked it with a voltimeter and it is good.
I discharged the batt a bit as well, but so far nothing works...
So not a problem with dead batt...
Ive tried charging without the battery in too, no sign of life!!!
For further reference in case anyone is interested.
Battery is charged (tried with another mobile which started without issue).
I also used the batt from another unit in this "dead" one and same behavior, i.e. no turn on, etc.
Only behavior I can easily replicate:
Phone is off, no charger, batt is removed. Now I place the batt in and connect the charger, the orange lef comes up as if it were charging.
When I press the power button (or the VOL-Down with Power), the led goes off and stays off, the only way to go back to seeing the orange led again is to again, remove batt and charger cable, and then putting again back the batt and the charger (in that order).

Desire won't boot flashing amber and green led

I have searched here and google all day to no avail. After charging my phone last night I tried to turn it on this morning and just get the amber led light then the green. It just won't boot. I have removed the battery several times, checked the battery contacts, all fine. I have tried the volume and power button trick but nothing. I rooted the phone about 4 months ago to gingervillian. All, has been well until now.I left the battery in there for a while and noticed that it got quite hot. I have now removed it and am going to leave it out overnight to see if it is anything to do with overheating. Anyone ever had similar or heard of this before, help appreciated.
Flashing amber usually means the battery is completely dead. Maybe try a new battery because it might be dead.
Oh, I like the sound of that planning to go to Tmobile shop (nearest one to me as on their network) to get it checked tommorrow. Thanks for that info.
Just an update for anyone who may have the same problem. I left the battery out all night, came down this morning and tried it and still the same amber to green and so on. Left the battery in and then about half an hour later just about to go out and noticed not flashing anymore. Tried it and it booted up fine! Battery only says 46% left will see what happens when I charge it tonight.
Tempted to go back to original rom in case this goes wrong again, didn't fancy telling the guys in the shop that I had rooted it and so voiding my warranty. Although I can't remeber what the warranty length was anyway?
Going to have a think about it as I really can't stand the original rom version.

Battery Fully Drained - Warning Sign

So today my battery was draining pretty quickly and I just let my phone die. And right now it's charging, but I can't turn it on. The screen has a symbol of the battery icon and a warning sign. Is this a bad sign? Anyone ever get this?
Pull your battery and leave it out for about 10 minutes while you make coffee. Put it back in and it should start just fine assuming you have charged it. Also I recommend charging directly on wall charger, not USB plugged into computer.
If that doesn't work, hold the volume button up while holding the power button down. Just keep holding them. This will eventually open your recovery. Then click select "reboot phone" and hit power.

I've had this happen to me about a week ago, I wake up to find my phone dead and not charging. Luckily I have a spare (from my old one that was replaced) so I've been using it.
I've left it out for a while, but no luck. Tried booting from recovery and stuff, but it just turns on, doesn't charge then shuts off. I haven't done a whole lot to fix it, been busy but I think if I try again and let it sit on the charger for a bit, it may just be fine.
Edit: Went ahead and swapped the batteries then set in on the charger (wall) . Not showing the triangle, hopefully it charges just fine.
That shows when the battery is fully drained. The phone needs to charge for a bit to have enough power to turn on. It's the E4GT version of the iphone/ipad/ipod touch image when the battery is fully dead and just a little lightning bolt is showing under the battery when you charge it.

Left is the fully dead screen. (just like the battery with warning sign on E4GT)
Right is normal charging screen. (like normal batter with dots under it on E4GT)

Yeah I thought so. The weird thing is, I've been draining my battery quite often, since I've been doing ROM Beta testing so I wanted to get real battery percentages and such. One time, I even turned on the phone quite a few times after it would shut off just to make sure it was completely dead, and once it was, it never showed the triangle. This happened randomly during the night while I was asleep, with fully or nearly full battery life.
I'm sure it's no biggie, which is why I wasn't worried. Well I had it charge up a bit, and booting it up, everything seems fine. Either way I have a spare battery in case this one goes bad.
Charged it for around 5 hours and still getting this error. I'm just gonna leave the battery out for like 30 minutes and start charging it again. Just to make sure, this is a battery problem and not a phone problem, right? I would hate to be bricking my phone again xD

possible brick?

My friend gave me a lumia 900 that doesnt respond to any button combos/ or show a charging screen no matter what charger i use.. The phone is under warranty but i still would like to fix it rather than send it back to them.. It showed up once on my pc as nokia dload but i cant get it to do it again... i let the phone charge over night and when i took it off charge it still didnt respond and vibrated every second and a half.
Well i let it charge over night on my 700mah vharger and it boots to a white screen and shuts off now... Im gonna end up letting it charge on my brothers 1amp blackberry charger for a hour or 2. Any ideas if that will work. I think it has the battery drain brick....
Mine just did the same thing except my phone is 1 month past waranty...phone shut off when the battery was still half full...charged it over night...saw a white screen the next morning when i tried to turn it on then nothing...went to at&T today and they said i'm out of luck. Pretty poor i'd say.
well i got it to the point where the battery notification blinks when i plug it into the charger. where should i go from here. I honestly dont think the phones bricked. But i know nothing about windows phones
bump. I really dont feel like waiting for 2 weeks or more to get this phone back. Im trying to help my gf out and give it to her

Battery might be damaged

I think my battery might have been damaged. Last night i was on a phone call while my phone was charging and it was at around 30% and i unplugged it to go to the kitchen and that's when it shutoff. i tried turning it on and nothing. i plugged it back in and also nothing not even the battery with the % . I took off the battery and plugged it in and finally a battery icon with a question mark in it popped up. Basically the phone doesn't turn on whatsoever if the battery is in. Maybe its time for a new one? Any help is appreciated
Other details:
Tmobile variant
I don't think the battery is authentic because it has no lg symbol anywhere and it says 2900mAh. I bought this phone off of Craigslist so maybe that's why.
