Well its a dry apply screen protector so it is a little by harder to apply than wet applications. However, it is very smooth, almost no resistance and comparable to the naked screen (almost). Absolutely no yellowing as well and still no scratches so far. Good angle visability and not more of a lint/oil magnet than the naked screen. The one I got was advertised as ultra oleophobic meaning it resists oils, I guess it works.

I've just received the SGP Oleophobic screen protector. It took me a whole 2 minutes to install and is totally bubble free. You get 2 protectors in each packet, plus bubble removal card, cleaning cloth and 4 dust removal stickers.

bought the empire screen protector from amazon for $4 (free 2 day shipping w/ amazon student) and it rocks. there's a ~.5mm border on the sides and ~1mm border on the top, doesn't both me though and its super clear. i got it perfectly aligned on the 2nd lay down with no bubbles or dust (make sure you wipe it down really good with the cloth they send). its easier when you start from the top of the phone instead of the bottom. i oull the whole sticky side protector off, align the top and kind of guide it straight towards the bottom. the card they send removes any bubbles that are there at first. no worries. as long as you cleaned the surface well and theres no dust, you shouldn't have bubbles when you're done. great and inexpensive product (compared to competitors)

Immediately after I applied the skin, I could tell instantly I would love it, mainly because of the texture/feel of the plastic "skin" applied to the phone. It added a nice rubbery feel to it while at the same time not making it any harder (maybe even a little easier) to use the OSK and Swype. You can see in the album on pics 2 and 5 where I had a bit of trouble applying, but those could have been easily avoided, had I taken just a few more minutes to make the skin more even throughout the phone. However the edges of the cover are a HUGE lint magnet especially in pockets but I think (hope) that this is just because it was recently applied. Also, it still fits perfectly in the Standard and Car Dock In the pictures it appears as if there are little bubbles throughout the skin, this is not visible under normal lighting, but the flash of the camera seems to have over exaggerated it.
EDIT: After a few weeks with the protector, I ended up removing the part covering the glass, The atrix just looks SOOO much better without a skin protector on the front, but I did keep the ones on the side and back because it adds a much needed grip to the back of the phone.

I hope this helps someone decide whether or not to get one of these skins, and personally I like the fact that it appears as if it is just the bare phone, but there is a nice layer of protection throughout the phone, however others will equally enjoy a nice OtterBox Defender or Incipio Feather case (two previous options).

do you know of any ways to reduce the lint problem? i was thinking of trying to do something along the edges to remove some of the adhesive
Man, i like invisibleshield but i HATE the yellowing that is guaranteed to happen, and even the peeling of the corners that happens VERY often. makes me rage
Yellowing, corner adhesion, edge lint, and texture = no way Invisibleshield is going on my phone. I used it on my Fuze and it was awful.
Is there any other kind of "full body" clear protector that is better?

Whats the texture of the phantomskin? like is it smooth like the regular phone or more "rubbery" like the Zagg shields.
Also, they're the same price $25 before shipping, but i do like how phantomskinz has a matte version avialable

Its like glass on the screen, ive only used the chromatics on the back of my cappy, but I prefer a tpu case anyways. I did like the chromatics though.

Yea I have the skinomi screen protector on the atrix as well, and the first day I nicked it with my fingertip and its still there. Also my buddy tried to use the hard end of a capacitive stylus on it and messed it all up... I just ordered a protector from phantom skinz because I only had one on my captivate the whole time Ive had it (since launch) and it still looks brand new. Feels just like skinomi but repairs itself, and you get two for $9.99...

I should go with either Best skin ever or Phantom Skinz. Question for those that are using the Phantom Skin, did you get the clear or matt finish? What's the difference?

I was going to try a Phantom Skinz, but ended up sticking with no screen protector whatsoever
I have tried about 3 protectors so far, and always end up taking them off and feeling happier. Seems like they all either feel too weird on my finger, peel too easily, or in one case it was good for a little but over time had too much indents and the look of small warping in spots. As soon as I take one off, screen looks better, and feels better. I know gorilla glass can be scratched but I really wonder if a screen protector is truly necessary. If I never bring the phone in contact with sand or diamonds is there anything else I need to worry about? Also, will a screen protector help prevent the screen from cracking if the phone is dropped?

I agree. I have a Zagg screen protector on my S3, and recently bought an Incipio case (which I love), however, the screen protector is peeling off in the corners, which makes it look ugly. Probably going to rip it off soon.

So far I've tried:
1. Skinomi -- Wet protectors suck. They produce a "rainbow glitter" effect on the screen, you notice it especially when its white.
2. Diztronic/cheapo -- The outward curved screen causes cheapo protectors not to lay flat.
3. SGP Nano 3pack -- Doesn't offer much protection. I screwed up the 1st one putting it on, and the 2nd one I managed to put scratches in it with their damn PLASTIC air bubble removal tool!
Oh well, 90% of the scratches on my Galaxy S1 were from me being lazy and putting the phone on surfaces screen-down. Having a case with a large lip around the edges will prevent a majority of the scratches (I already keep one pocket dedicated for phone-only).
I have the spg Nano on and it does get scratched easily. On the other hand I have a friend with the same phone so we split a pack and did rock paper scissors for the 3rd screen protector.

Can't stand some screen protectors. The Zagg and those expensive ones have the orange peel effect and can get indents which is ugly. The wet apply ones have the rainbow affect and the cheap ones come off easy and don't protect lol. I've said screw it. So far I have no scratches and my case keeps the screen from surface contact. Whatever.

I'm using the one provided with Otter box and aside from it smearing easily and having to wipe it off quite a bit, its not too shabby considering I usually liken screen protectors to raincoats. BTW if you're looking into a case, an otter box is pretty good. A bit pricy ($35 from Fry's), but so far solid. Not to mention it raises the edges making it difficult to irritate the protector/start peeling

i like the front of my screen being smooth and frictionless (ie no heavy rubber protector)...is there any good screen protector out there, that's light, doesn't have too much friction (could be as simple as a bubbless peelon) out there for the s3? Also wouldn't take away too much from the 'press' intensity I have to apply to my phone screen.

I've tried the cheap one that came with my Ballistic case, a 3M Natural View, and DBA Just Like Glass and this one is better than any of those. It was a little bit "grippy" at first but my finger slid around smoothly after a little while. I also managed the best-looking installation of all the brands I've tried (it's a simple dry installation, which I applied in a steamy bathroom to prevent trapped dust). It's completely invisible with no lifting edges (all the others lifted where the screen curves at the edges). And no, I don't work for them.

I'm not a fan of the "step 1 and step 2" multi-pack screen protectors that don't stick well. Ya gotta figure there's a reason they come in 3-packs, because they suck. I see that Zagg makes a "smudge proof" screen protector for the Note 2. I'd really like to see it for the Galaxy S3.
Rearth Ringo...Pros: cant tell its on the screen..application was easy with no bubbles and feels smooth as glass. Cons: Doesn't go edge to edge and it does scratch easily.

I got the ultra clear nano. First screen protector ever. Looks beautiful
A few tips to newbies applying it. I left mine by a steamy shower. Paranoid and let the dust particles settle. Cleaned it with the micro cloth.
Take the ' 'front' end is at the bottom left of the screen. On the top make sure the camera isn't covered (it shouldn't matter much if it were, in my opinoin)...peel the back end half way off (MOST IMPORTANT POINT...it is a very light screen protector that will fall back on its sticky self if you don't) and apply from the bottom (or front end part of your phone) and slowly peel back your way up.
Iron out the bubbles with the rubber thingy
Peel off front. Most bubbles should be out anyways.
The peelback should be a very smooth uniform motion.You also do NOT want any part of the plastic to fold on top of itself. It gives the appearance of a scratch on the screen.
This baby is so smooth and exactly what I wanted, but I could see why a lot of people complained about wasting one while trying to learn to apply it. Its like nothing was applied to it. No friction ,especially with sweaty hands and you can easily forget its on.

If it's not too much trouble, would you update the thread/pm me when you see scratches + your opinion about how scratch resistant the protector is? There seems to be mixed thoughts of how easily it is to scratch it
I will be remember what i said on application and how it is so thin it folds on it laelf and can give tje impression of a scratch. Initial application has to be very smooth. Other than that its great if youbwere sitting wjith me you wouldnt notice a screen protector on. I honestly don't see it scratching though. That and it has the right amount of friction. The sweat on your hands actually lubricates your finger across the screen.

I'm looking for a good/decent edge to edge, dry install protector for my wife's GS3. It has to be dry because she has already cracked the screen.
I've done some searching in the forums, but can't seem to nail down just those two must-have conditions: Edge to edge and dry install.

I have the ultra nano clear and it feels very smooth. Ive had it since septembre and have gotten zero scratches.
Also what screenprotector is not lightweight ? All screenprotectors are pieces of plastic lol. Havent had any metal screenprotector yet.

I too love the edge to edge ones.. I've tried a few so far, realook and spigen curved.. both are OK.. there is still a tiiiiiny gap on the edges.

Top to bottom I have a gap that not only lets dust just waltz right in, but makes me have to actually press on the screen for touches most of the time, or repeat an action because I didn't press the screen protector to contact the screen.
I've had 2 replacements sent, and they all have the same problem. My 3VO case never had that issue.
I'm thinking that the Commuter would have the same issue, considering they're almost identical designs.
Have any of you with these cases noticed this?

First, what's a '3VO'?
Second, I would have to say any case with a built in plastic screen protector like that will have that same issue. No, the Commuter does not have that problem because the screen protector sticks onto the screen itself instead of being attached to the case.

Anyway, like I mentioned, my Defender case didn't have that issue at all on my Evo 3D. The screen protector was attached to the case and was tight against the screen.
You'd think that any case with a built in screen protector would have them tight against the screen. It's such a hassle having to open it all the time just to get dust out from under it. Allowing anything between itself and the screen kind of defeats the protectors purpose, doesn't it? If something just slips under there and scratches the screen, then it's purpose is moot, and shouldn't even be there.
I'm just mentioning it because I've seen several different phones with the Defender installed, and every one of those had the screen protector fitting tight on the screen with no openings.
If you see how the screen protector is designed, and how that front of the case is designed to compress slightly when clipped properly into the back of the case, that compression pushes the sides of that screen protector inward from the sides, creating the openings. A simple resolution to that would be to trim the screen protector plastic by mere millimeters on either side to allow it to fit properly onto the screen surface.
I was just wondering if anyone else with the Defender case noticed this as well. I figure they will, because 3 cases for me have that issue.
Defender cases are really just good for drop protection. They always let dust in through speaker and Mic cutouts.

I buy defender cases for all the phones I get (I drop my phones alot... clumsy) and the first thing I do is remove their screen protector just use a one that goes on the phone
Same issue
I've had Otterbox Defenders for every phone I've owned dating back to the original iPhone. This is the first time I've removed the integrated screen protector.
The cutout at the bottom of the screen protector that uncovers the bottom speaker grille and the buttons causes a severe gap to form between the glass and the screen protector. It's a design flaw of this particular model of Otterbox unfortunately. Short of adding a bar that runs across the case at the bottom of the screen I'm not sure of a way to correct it either. Given the tight fit of the case and the plastic used it's always going to bubble like that.
Take the screen protector out and replace it with a good quality one and you'll never know the difference. I'm actually running mine with a naked screen right now but I'm thinking about getting one of the glass covers since they'll fit inside the Otterbox.
The only real reason I get Defenders is for drop protection and the holster anyway so it wasn't a big deal.

Yet another "same here". I put a Zagg on my screen and I use my Otterbox for drop protection and protecting the ports (headphone and micro USB) from dust/ dirt. On that basis, it works very well for me.
Mine was the same way. It bothered the crap out of me so I popped that thing out and ordered a mime ghost screen protector. Should be here soon.

When it comes in let us know about the fit please.
Otterbox seems to be just crap now.
The gap is totally unacceptable, the lock tab has to be forced down on mine to properly secure, otherwise is falls out. Also, the rubber loses shape quickly, be mindful of that when you are taking it apart all the time to clean it.

I eventually stopped using mine in favor of a simple TPU case and a nice leather belt pouch. But if I really needed the protection I may have continued with it.
I removed the useless built in plastic protector; due to the dust collecting under the plastic, I had to have a normal screen protector on there anyway.
The last time I removed the Defender one of the plastic tabs securing the top to bottom plastic broke. It is very difficult to remove the top from the bottom. No big deal, I'm not going to use it. I so very much prefer the convenience of the pouch.
I never had any problems with the rubber part, but I only removed it a couple of times.

I had the same problem with the gap in the screen protector. I just put a cheap screen protector on the phone itself, and that made it so that the Defender screen protector no longer had the gap. Prior to adding the extra screen protector, it was difficult to get the phone to register my touches all the time. Now, it works perfectly.
I can also see your point about the rubber. It was one of my first complaints when I got the case. The Defender on my Evo3D had a great feeling rubber. Soft and flexible. I think the new rubber is far too hard, and I can see it deforming pretty easily if you take the phone out of the case very often. I personally don't tend to take it out of the case, especially since we have no removable battery or MicroSD. I don't have a need usually to take it out of the case. The only positive I will give the new rubber they are using over my Evo3D Defender, is that this case is nowhere near the lint magnet.
Also, I am not terribly thrilled about the gigantic cutout of the screen protector so it doesn't cover the capacitive buttons at the bottom. No idea what the thinking there was, unless they did it specifically because of the problems with the buttons prior to the last update. On the other hand, having a big opening like that in the screen protector, makes it easy for me to find the Home and Back buttons in the dark. For some reason, my capacitive buttons only seem to really light up when it is pitch black out, so there are a lot of times where I just can not see them. Easy to find them by touch with this case.
I'm a bit disappointed in the plugs for the ports as well. Over time, I'm sure they will pop in and out easier, but that isn't such a good thing. Because the rubber is so hard, I can see them getting to the point where they just won't stay in at all. Also, the one over the microUSB port is the most annoying to me. Because of the design and the hardness of the rubber, it is actually kind of a pain to pop the cable in there.
I have been a huge fan of Otterbox over the years, especially when it comes to their customer service. They are far and away the best I have ever dealt with, but I think this case was a misstep. I haven't tried any of their other Defender cases for other phones from this generation, so I can't tell if this is something they are doing across all phones, or if the One just got the short end of the stick.
Same here. I love the punk color scheme, but like stated, the built in screen protector is heavily flawed. I switched to the UAG and so far(1 week) all is good. I think I will take out the otterbox screen and use it periodically. I do like the older rubber style better, like I have for my old HTC inspire 4g, it grips better in your hand.

Agreed 100%. OtterBox is S#!T. Only reason i got one was i needed some sort of protection till my Seidio case came in. Got it today so guess where the Ottrbox is.

Not many post on XDA but I promise you I do not work for this company lol. I've been searching forever for a good screen protector and glass is off the table. Whitestone is too expensive and I know I'd mess it up! I've gone through several brands of films on Amazon that have good/moderate reviews but they have all had poor coverage or just didn't stick down on the edges, and I consider myself a pro at installing films. Found a new one that claimed it used new technology to create a tpu type film and took a gamble on it as there where no reviews/ratings. I am pleased to announce that with proper care putting it on its flawless, adheres 100% to the sides and is almost unnoticeable by touch or look. (Except for that it's film and not glass) I will note however that be careful installing as the adhesive is very strong, and getting dust out after installing is near if not impossible. I'll post pics tomorrow of the product and a pic of my phone with it installed!

Honestly I just got tired of looking for screen protectors. I made this account on XDA forever ago and decided that since I'd finally found one I'd just like to share my experience to maybe save some others frustration. I always lurk around here, have since the Moto a855 days, just never get on and post.
If someone does decide to try one of these protectors and chimes in that'd be great as I know my low post count doesn't make me look very believable lol

Well, can't tell you that as I screwed up the install and had to trash it [emoji17]. Couldn't get the bubbles out of it. Very likely my ineptness - been a while since I used anything besides tempered glass.

Sorry man, had high hopes for it based on the case problems with tempered glass I've been reading about. Anyway, just ordered a tempered glass one [emoji9] that purports to be "case friendly". We'll see.

I got mine on without bubbles, but I learned very quickly the adhesive is extremely strong on these screen protectors and getting tiny bubbles out is very hard. You have to choose a large one and push it around through all the smaller ones. As far case usage goes, they fit snug and the only case I own is a OtterBox Symmetry which I have no problems with.
In the description and picture it states these have a 9H rating, and while I've had mine on since Friday without any scratches I have to call BS on that claim. They are a tpu film, feel like film, definitely don't feel like glass but are 100% crystal clear. They seems fairly durable compared to some other PET films I've used, and they are much thicker/heavy duty. (Can't tell once applied however)

No orange peel at all. 100% smooth like PET. I can't stand wet apply protectors because of the orange peel/clarity so I've never used them. Always stuck to cheap PET and this is very similar.
Like I said though, I can't stress enough to be careful putting it on as it has a very strong adhesive. It is still easy to take off and leaves no residue, but getting dust/dirt/hair out after is impossible. It's not like normal PET that uses static.
I did get a short piece of hair on mine when installing, which I'd normally remove or put on a new film after, but with the adhesive and TPU this seems to have just molded around it and it's almost not noticable. Leaves no air as the protector won't push back up. I'm very OCD with my protectors.
EDIT: Also, another note is that where this is a hard TPU film I have noticed it resist scratches very well but will indent like the wet apply protectors when force is applied such as with a finger nail. It does seem to recover after awhile. Funny how it's a TPU that feels like film. Also, 4 days now and no signs of peeling/no scratches. My phone is in and out of my pants pocket all day long.

Use a piece of scotch tape to remove any dust the gets behind it. Just peel up your screen protector then use the tape (sticky side to screen protector sticky side) to pull any dust or hair off the inside.

I tried that. Tape stuck to the adhesive on the film and when pulling off left a mark where the tape was on it. Like I said, the screen protector has a strong adhesive and doesn't use static. Usually only static pet protectors can have dust removed with tape. In this case, the adhesive on the film is stronger than tape.

I installed mine a bit over a week ago and have to say fairly impressed with it. It is stronger than your normal PET protectors (doesn't get micro scratches easily) and has very strong adhesive as the OP mentioned (great for the edges).
I did buy the case friendly version though instead of the full screen one

As far as install is concerned - If you have a rubber squeegee (had one from the armorsuite products) it will help greatly. Combine that with the hinge method and you will get a really good install.

You have to be pretty damn exact for the borders. There is really no room for error.
Not glass but I am definitely happy with it.
I bought a wet install film screen protector and I am loving it... No touch sensitivity issues, easy to install, and self heals scratches... I have used it on on a few past phones as well as smartwatches and have never had any issues with them.
