Just wondering why everyone's got such a hardon for AOKP? Granted, I have yet to try it in any way shape or form, but it just doesn't seem THAT much better than CM. Users are switching over to it, I've seen a few devs rebasing ROMs off it and what not.

Not knocking it by any means (asides from the terribly goofy boot animation). Was just curious what the hubbub's all about.

I for one adore the pink unicorn boot animation as well as the expressions I get from it. As for why I love AOKP, I would say the smoothness of performance, the level of customization, and the dev support. (I use Task's build which is frequently updated.)

It turns your swagger on and off, duh.
I ran it and found it to be a good, fast rom. No real issues to speak of, though I missed a couple of small things. For example, the inability to add apps to the lock screen's unlock slider, no charging indication, etc. Very small things. And ya, the boot anim had to go. Took me a little reading but I replaced it with a different AOKP anim (something WITHOUT a pink unicorn!). I'm now on another rom which has the stuff I was missing with AOKP and a little more. Also good.
In short, obviously plenty of good roms out there. This is only my second one but loving it..

Thanks for the serious responses to my not so serious question lol. Gotta exchange my phone today (have some dead black pixels and that's just unacceptable to me), but I'll think about giving it a shot. AOSP has been everything I've wanted out of my phone so far, but it's always good to try new things I suppose.

To turn data on go to System settings - Mobile Networks - Access Point Names - and click the dot for sprint.
Just to let you know this is a extremely alpha build. I don't think the camera works... might have some force closes. Not a daily driver.
Downloading now. Will report back
On JoyOS.
Buttery smooth...fast.
Camera works
Recording doesn't.
Obviously no 4g
Wifi works
USB utilities work
Status bar still has Chinese/Japan w/e language
All UI customizations work
Widgets work
Needs a few image tweaks

They made it far easier than actually cooking a ROM.
Using CM as a base and only adding a couple text lines is the most genius idea ever.

I like a lot of the features of the TW roms too, the only thing keeping me away from them now is that most of the threads have fizzled out it seems. I had a few minor annoying issues with them, and seems they have mostly all sorta stalled with activity.
I realize they are skyrocket ports, so perhaps they will never be perfect. At least until t989 gets official jelly bean.

Not the same situation at all, its like getting touchwiz on your One S, takes sooo much work with kernels and drivers just to get it to boot. Possible but most devs would rather focus on "bettering" a stable working OS.
