I really only need the digitizer, but from what I'm reading, separating it from the LCD can be tricky, and most of the prices I'm seeing are only about $50 bucks difference for LCD and Digitizer.
Has anyone dealt with any suppliers before that they could recommend?
Also, is anyone aware if the Sprint E973 is the same as the Telus E973?

So as the title says, i'm able to get a Gnex for $50 + the repair costs.
my friends dad dropped his Nexus, broke the glass and wants an s3, so he's selling me his nexus for $50. It's only the glass that's cracked, touchscreen and the actual screen itself still works.
I was looking at dissasembly vids, and galaxy nexus repair parts online and found that the screen assembly appears to be a whole.
You can buy that whole assembly for approx. $150. But I also found this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Outer-Front...273?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2572820bc9 which appears to be just the glass front that I need. (excuse me if I can't link outside).
Is it possible to separate the front glass panel from the screen?
I build computers and i've repaired my DHD in the past, so I guess I could say that i'm advanced in repairing techniques, but i'm not really comfortable with soldering electronics or anything. Is it just a case of prying the broken glass off and glueing the new glass back on?
As a poor college student, i'd much rather attempt a difficult repair, than going the easy way and paying $150 bucks for a new screen assembly.
Any help would be MUCH appreciated!
Thanks in advance,
-Mark
Can't take it apart... they are fused together. Don't make my mistake and buy the lens on eBay. My advice is buying a used LCD digitizer from eBay or it still works fine sell it on eBay and double your money... you could get about 100 on there

I am looking to purchase lcd+digitizer for Samsung Epic 4g Touch for lowest price possible, because the digitizer broke and i don't want to pay extra getting it fixed by a tech.
I have a I927 with a cracked LCD. Power's on but does not display anything. It seems the repairing the screen is'nt worth the cost as the resale on the device is the same price as the replacing the LCD. I've tried selling locally and no one wants it. Anyone have any good ideas on how to re-purpose it?

I would suggest either putting it on ebay as a parts phone or looking for a bricked phone that someone is selling and swap out screens. That's what I would do.

a new screen is only 100 and i replaced my screen myself and if anyone is willing to pay me to fix theirs just order the new screen and send me the phone and mail the screen to me if you like and i would fix it for a reasonable price
Well, as luck would have it I tried replacing my broken glass but damaged the black screen that attaches to the LCD in the process. I guess I need a whole new digitizer assembly now. Where is the best place to get them? Looks like all the different parts stores around the web (Amazon, ebay) all have generic knock offs. I'm OK with that as long as they work, but the reviews don't ever seem stellar. Any advice? Thanks
I think this might have been discussed before but is there an oversees supplier where I can get a oled and digitizer in a reasonable price? Failing that has anyone got the part number so I can go have a dig around myself?
Thanks
