download_package.bin - Xperia Arc Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi
Today I made the simple OTA update 42 --> 62 and put the OTA file into my sd card. has anybody an idea how to extract?
I also uploaded the file
Greetz
Download: http://www15.zippyshare.com/v/35157973/file.html

Let's start from beginning. How did you make it and from which files?
I don't know any way of installing an OTA update from SDcard via .bin file. At least at the moment.

[Q] software update question

I have a dumb question about my phone CONSTANTLY bugging me about software update which id very much like to do however when I try to it reboots to my clockworkmod recovery instead of samsung. My question is where would the s3 store this downloaded firmware so I can manually tell clockworkmod where to go?
Thanks!
it's in /cache/fota it's a cfg file. rename it to update.zip and copy it to your sdcard.

It downloads it as update.zip without me having to rename but when I move it and try to install with clockworkmod it fails out
It requires stock recovery but someone made a flashable zip in development section.

[Q] ota update in uk for kitkat

has anybody in the uk had the ota update for kitkat yet, i tried installing it through the local update method but i'm having problems so it looks as though i might have to wait for the ota update. funnily enough i had the same issue with the b125 upgrade as well and had to wait for the ota for that as well
It installed on my stock UK P6 using the local update method.
I did install B132 first, again using the local method. (Extract file from zip, copy dload folder to sdcard, open update app and perform update from there)

that method doesn't work for me all i get is a message saying ''the upgrade package is not detected''
i've extracted the files from the zipped folder then i copied the whole folder to my sd card, this is what i done the first time up updated the phone and it worked then but every time i've tried it since it hasn't worked

Trying to restore my build.prop file... What I could download and unpack to get it?

I want to install the 3.32 OTA so I had to restore my phone a bit. Last time I did this was about a month ago, and I must be forgetting something... but I cannot run the OTA because of problems with the build.prop file.
I flashed the default recovery and uninstalled one app that I know tweaked the system by modifying the build.prop file, however, this didn't work. The log still says "unexpected content in system/build.prop".
I have uninstalled 3 or 4 other apps that I suspect may modify the build.prop file and turned on the SuperSU logging to make sure I wasn't missing any other app which was getting root permission to modify it.... I thought I found them all. However, I just tried running the OTA for the third time, and it still shows that the build.prop file has been altered.
I know I could download the OTA, modify the updater script, then copy it back to the phone, but before I do that I wanted to just get a default copy of the file. What could I download (i.e., a RUU, a stock nandroid, etc.) that I could unpack to get one??
Thanks!
This is a tough one. The OTA only has the patch file so that is out. You can unpack the RUU but then you get disk image files. If you can figure out a way to unpack the .img files, I'm guessing would be in there.

Thanks for replying... I must have had a brain tumor for breakfast yesterday because there was already a backup copy in the system folder. I don't know how I missed it.

[Q] Huawei p6 Problem

Helloo guys this is my frist post..
I have Hawei p6 from Macedonia, And cant upgrade cuz i have B103 T-mobile version, i try to update via local update(putting B512 dudu in SD card with folder dload named update.zip or app) I dont know way the update wont start... Please help me what to do.. My english suck...
P.S T-mobile version
Don't forget to backup your data first.
Then unzip the B512 archive file you downloaded & copy only the UPDATE.APP file into this folder on your phone: external sdcard/dload/
Finally, in the phone: Settings > System Update > Local Update.
If that doesn't work, you may need a minimum of JB B132 first, before trying any of the KK B5xx updates - you can get this from here: http://huaweinews.com/2014/03/ascend-p6-b132-firmware/
Where did you get B512 from - here?: http://huaweinews.com/2014/08/ascend-p6-b512/

[Q] How to package a lollipop update file

I read somewhere that Google has changed the system used for the standard update zip file.
Therefore you have to convert some .dat files to .img files and .img files to a standard readable folder.
This I understand, however how do I reverse the process above to get back to the .dat file and get a lolipop compatible flashable zip?
