Hi, first sorry for my english.
I have N7100 but in menu in Storage info I have total space only 5,52 GB.
How can I get full capacity? The phone is with Stock Rom and without root.
Thanks for answers.

There are only about 10-11 GB available as internal storage by default. The rest 5-6Gb are not available for the user. So you probably have a few games installed, if you want more storage then there are a few things you can do. One is uninstall apps you don't need and the second one is this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2036796

Hmm, I got your PM. This I have never seen before. Your TOTAL storage only shows 5.something GB of storage. There is something wrong indeed...
Did you buy this Note 2 as a new device in a shop?
It was a gift. when i found this problem i tried flash new official ROM for my region with ODIN and no change.

Ok, this is really weird. Maybe someone else knows if it is even possible to partition the internal memory of a phone. Because that could be the cause of you only seeing a part of the total storage. BUT as I said, I don't know if that is possible, or if someone did that to your device.
IF that actually IS the case, then as far as I know, only formatting the internal storage could restore the total amount back to normal.
To do that, you'd need Clockworkmod recovery I think.
BUT again: If someone could enlighten me and the OP I would be grateful.

Have a look here under mounts and storage http://www.addictivetips.com/mobile...to-use-it-on-android-complete-guide/#features
So, i can try format boot, system, data, cache and flash new ROM. Is it safe?
I know I lose all my data. After that can i normally flash new rom with ODIN?

First you have to root your phone, look here http://galaxynote2root.com/galaxy-note-2-root/how-to-root-galaxy-note-2-easiest-method/
Then use this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1983489 and use MEGAwipe
And then you have to install a new ROM, and I suggest getting the OMEGA ROM http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1915036
in combination with PERSEUS Kernel http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1927852 which in my opinion is the best, most stable and safest kernel.
Thanks friend. I will try it this weekend. Today i need my phone and all data in it. I write you pm after that.

You are welcome, I hope you'll get all your storage capacity back. Please feel free to contact me, I'll do my best to assist you. You know that you can always get a backup app like MYBACKUP Pro to back up all your important data, call logs, apps etc. then copy them to a PC, if you have access to one. Then afterwards you can restore all the SMS, call logs, apps, etc.
It is always a good Idea to have a backup of your important data before you wipe everything
So for now, just get a backup app and do as much of a backup as you can. Then when you are ready to root you have to do a nandroid backup with CWM as soon as you can. But we'll get there when it's time.

First of all... I hate to say it but it sounds like you have a CLONE of the Note II that only has 8G of storage in it. Can you put up screenshots of the device and also have you checked under the battery, etc for information on the device?
Until you are 100% sure this is a REAL Note II - DO NOT do ANYTHING to try and root, etc or you will end up with a BRICK!

Maybe it is a good idea to ask your friend if he knows if something had been done to the phone. Because if it is the real N7100 then there must have been done some fiddling around with it.

When I first rooted the phone I had installed an 8 gig memory card; however, after having some issues and deciding the internal storage is sufficient, I removed the memory card. Before doing so I moved the clockwork folder from the external card to internal memory. I got into recovery and tried to do a new backup, and it said Cant mount /sdcard. I thought by moving the default folder I confused CWM, so reflashed it via Odin, but still getting the same error.
What do I need to do to get CWM to use the internal storage as default?
I am pretty sure there is an option to "backup to internal sd card" Click that.

Also there is a cwm zip to flash recov which is cool u wont have to use odin.....here

Thx sarni. I'll keep that in mind although I'd like to keep the non-touch CWM if possible. worst case scenario I can flash back to stock and re-flash.

Holy crap.. wit the root guide they give u old cwm, install rom manager n install t-mobile cwm through that, has internal sd option n works better.. also on android, it "mounts" the sdcard similar to a hdd, to remove ALWAYS unmount from settings b4 removing, in cwm goto mounts and storage, unmount sdcard otherwise u can corrupt data

I have no idea what youre trying to say here. There is no tmobile cwm. Theres tmobile's recovery and theres cwm.
Anyway. I flashed back to unrooted stock, rerooted, installed cwm 5.0.2.6, and still having the same issue. Nandroid says "cant mount /sdcard, and ROM manager, when trying to download a newer version of cwm, says "an error occurred while trying to run privileged commands", I have a feeling my internal sd card is corrupt.
Im going to flash back to unrooted stock again, perform sd card wipe/format, factory reset, and start again.

I never said t-mobile cwm, I said simply install rom manager feom market and install cwm from there the version under guide is old..
And yes actually, under cwm when it asks u to verify jr model it lists it as tmobile, I stated this BECAUSE OF THE WAY ITS LISTED and the EASIEST way for a n00b to get it, at least try the above before posting and rying to correct me.

Ye idc bout u correctin me, I wrote that in 2min on my way home from my phone, excuse me if I worded it quickly.
My entire basis is simply the version in guide is OLD, 5.0.2.6 to be exact.
N no not hostile, just can't stand stupidity, and there is a difference between lack of knowledge and stupidity (not callin u stupid here don't jump to conclusions here..) and no, not new had an account a few years back left bout almost a year ago cuz of the stupidity and ammount of people who would rather DL and complain about it then look at wat goes into it, or simply rather flame people and throw off a topic rather then post relative information (last few posts are comming close to being under this category) or the trolls and morons who like to post crap or responses to which they no nothing about.
And fine, if u don't wanna use rom manager download odin flashable from their site, its 5.0.2.7 and has internal support, I said rom manager cuz technicly its the easiest manoeuvre.
Again I'm not new, just grew tired of the scene and decided to come back fresh and c if things have changed..
And I'm as nice as I need to be, when I need to be. Simple as that.
As far as "jumping down everyones throats in every post",
I never once said anything outa line (k, mayb that once when buddy told me to piss off, I gut pissed off alright)
Everything Ive said ive had a reason for. And actually, I try 2 help out, but topics like this are a prime example, if u don't word it 100% people are WAY to quick to jump on it.
When I do jump in pissed off its cuz I see a new post go up with the exact thing stated a couple posts down.

I think my internal was corrupted. Here's what I did:
In CWM 5.0.2.6 formatted all possible things, including emmc.
Flashed back to unrooted stock via Odin
Re-rooted with recovery-cmw-hercules.tar (CWM 5.0.2.6)
Downloaded ROM mgr again, and flashed to CWM 5.0.2.7
Now I have the choice in CWM to backup to internal (5.0.2.6 doesnt have that option)
Re-flashed Darkside 2.5.1
All is working flawlessly now. Looks like I had a corrupt internal partition somewhere.
And doug36, I appreciate your attempt to help, I really do. But frankly, your posts are extremely difficult to read and follow.
Hello guys,
It's my first question to the forum. I hope you can give me a clue resolve this problem.
I bought a Note 2 SGH i317 some days ago.
It was my first root but with your trheads everything was ok (for some days).
I tried JediX, Custom Rom 4.2.5 and some other.
But after tried some custom roms, I noted that when I flash any rom the phone stucks on Samsung Galaxy Note II screen and I have to pull out the battery to turn off the phone.
I tried with many others roms and all did the same.
Later I realized that the flash process was very fast compared to the first ones, so I guess the flash proccess fails in some instance.
I returned to stock rom and root it again with same results.
I tried with CVM and TWRP.
I can restore some nandroid backups to get the phone working, but can't flash any rom now!
Do you have any suggestion?
Thanks in advance.

Yes. I did every step.
Sometimes I wipe both before and after flashing rom.
In some cases I format /system also.
I'm thinking in format some special partition/folder, but I don't know where to start or if it will works...

If flashing stock rom doesn't help, your internal memory might be corrupted, and might need to format it through recovery.
It's not a sure thing but it's another option to troubleshoot your problem. If you're gonna try that, make sure to backup all your stuff

It's hard to say what made it corrupt (if at all, remember, this is only an assumption). Could've been an app that caused it, could've been flashing a custom rom, and something went wrong during the flashing process.
If you're using twrp (which i highly suggest you do), in the 'wipe' menu there's an option to wipe internal sd. DON'T FORGET! before you do this make a nandroid backup and keep that backup on your external sd, or on your computer. Also, backup all your stuff, like pictures, music, etc.

The only thanks you could give is just hitting the thanks button on my answers to you. But you don't really have to, it's entirely up to you. If you think my responses are helpful to you, then by all means ... In order to close a thread you could ask a moderator to do so. I'm not sure you're obligated to do so.
Btw, if cwm gives you an md5 error, could be most likely because you changed the name cwm has originally assigned to that backup. To solve this, just change it to what it was. If you didn't change the backup name, you could try going into advanced menu in cwm and toggle signature check to disable

Hello.
I want to restore my friends galaxy s2 (t989), but no matter what I do it will not restore. I tried odin and I tried flashing a different rom through cwm recovery, but everytime i boot it up after restoring it stays the same way. Meaning that all of the app, settings, photos, etc remain on the phone. As if I didnt even try to restore it. I am guessing it is a virus but I dont know how to remove it Another hint that it is a virus, every time i remove or install a new app from the play store, when I reboot the changes are un-done, meaning that the apps that I removed come back, and the apps that I installed are gone. It is almost as if it is stuck on a state and keeps reverting to it after every reboot. Anybody have any suggestions? Thanks
Try doing a factory reset in the phone settings then go into recovery and wipe as if u are about to flash another ROM. Manually put the phone into download mode and try to restore from there

In recovery go to mount and storage section. Then format data, system, and cache. Then factory data reset. This will fix it. The same way you format a sd card and it wipes it clean thats what happens when you format data, system, and cache.

In recovery go to mount and storage section. Then format data, system, and cache. Then factory data reset. This will fix it. The same way you format a sd card and it wipes it clean thats what happens when you format data, system, and cache.

Thank you guys for answering, I tried both methods but neither worked. After some more research I found out what is causing this to happen. Apparently the internal memory of the phone is stuck as read only, I don't know how he did that. While I am searching for a way to make is read and write, I came across this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2025475 but it is for the skyrocket and there was no solution. However, I also came across this http://androidforums.com/incredible-support-troubleshooting/347685-internal-phone-storage-becomes-read-only.html for the HTC Incredible, but to be honest I have no idea what he did and whether or not it will work on this phone. Do you guys have any idea how make the internal memory of his phone read and write instead of read only? Any help is appreciated thank you.

Flash new rom then go back into recovery and format everything and reset. some recoveries have mount system options so maybe find another one. Something is definitely weird going on. Root explorer, Root toolbox, and other apps have option to mount system as rw as well like biglil said

Im bad at explaining stuff so let me try explaining it a different way.
Like I said, I want to change the rom on my friends phone. I have a fair amount of experience in doing this since I also have an s2 running jedi knight 6. As usual, I would reboot into recovery, wipe system/factory reset, wipe cache/dalvik then install rom. This is where it gets weird, after I boot up the phone, it goes back to the way it was, as if I did not wipe anything. I even tried flashing a completely different rom and I even tried restoring it back to stock rom through ODIN nothing happens. Also, the mount toggle in root explorer is only for the root system, not the internel memory of the phone. Thanks for the help though.
Ok use titanium backup. Two options guaranteed to work. Find the wipe all system and data option use that. If that doesn't work find unintegrate system dalvik option and use that. One these should definitely work.

I tried that but it didn't work either. I think i am out of ideas lol. We even sent it to Samsung about a month ago and they couldn't fix it, mainly because it was rooted. Anyways, I appreciate you guys trying to help me.

As I said, I've never flashed a custom rom before, I DESPERATELY want to, but have a few concerns… if anybody has enough patience to help answer a couple concerns I have, it would be GREATLY Appreciated, and in advance, I apologize for being such a noob, but I'm big time OCD and just worry alot.
1.Nusense6 is what I want. I'm on the latest 4.4.2 / sense 6 stock rom , s-off, bootloader unlocked, rooted. So I have all the required firmware /radios, right?
2.It says it supports the motion gestures with the included kernel, So that means when I flash the rom, it'll flash the required kernel, right?
3. By wiping the cache, dalvik, data, and system wouldn't that also delete my nandroid-THAT I may need if something goes wrong?
4.once I flash it, once I go to re-download my apps, will all my in app purchases be restored? Or better yet, if I backup with Titanium backup, wouldn't the wipe before I flash the rom wipe my backups???
Again, sorry im such a noob, I always swore id stay just stock rooted, but the features of this rom has convinced me otherwise.. Any help/ guidance would be SO GREATLY APPRECIATED!

1. Good to go.
2. Yes, kernels are packed into boot.img's that get flashed with the Rom.
3. No. The data wipe in recovery does not touch your storage. You would have to choose wipe storage.
4. Your apps may or may not automatically restore...but they will be visible under my apps. Tibu will work perfectly if you do not wipe storage.
Happy flashing.

No problem. When a noob takes the time to read up and post a decent question, you'll get a decent answer. We were all there at one point.[emoji106]

Yes to system. System is where the Rom stores the major workings. If you don't wipe, it will install new files alongside old ones and you will have some ill effects...if not major ones.

Better to be OCD and ask questions before you goof something up. It is easier to prevent soft bricks than fix them

Well, obviously "Came to believe that a power greater than ourselves could restore us to sanity." Lol. He was saying he needs a sponsor for his flashing addiction.

Lol
The phone is unlocked, S-Off, rooted(rom TBD).
So obviously i have all my stuff on here and i want to completely wipe everthing
but a factory reset doesn't really get rid of EVEYTHING that's personal.
I wanna leave all the Rom/Rooted stuff on the phone but i need to
make sure everything else that's personal is gone.
best way?
with a new ROM...?
Thanks

Run the ruu.zip dottat made, it wipes the internal clean when ruu completes. The decrypted zip is pre rooted.

I can help you via team viewer if you need a hand through the process. Just remember not to turn s on until everything else looks good.
You can do that. Backup the internal sd card of course, wipe and flash a new ROM and then reformat the SD card in recovery.
