4.1.2 Battery drain - Galaxy Note II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Looks like there really is a battery drain: http://www.sammobile.com/2013/01/17/galaxy-note-ii-software-update-n7100xxdll7-brings-battery-drain/

Yep, saw that as well. I thought I had been running too many apps. Lol

Is this battery life normal?

Since my last post went completely off topic and hopefully will be deleted soon I am going to try again. I flashed CM7 last night and ran a battery calibration and I only had a 4hr 19min battery life with moderate use I updated my radios but my baseband still says 2.15.00.05.02 Instead of 2.15.00.08.02 did I do something wrong in the flash? I put it in the root of my SD card and flashed it just as I would with any zip. Here is the screenshots from my test.

If you want the current radios see this.
Has the recovery install as wall as hboot install.
Edit: did you have this with your previous rom?
Perhaps a new battery will help if yours is old?
Yea that is definitley not normal batt life. I'm not saying mine is great, but usually i can go a day on my batt with light to moderate usage. Usually just checking fb, xda, mikmik, and a few minutes of internet surfing
Yeah battery life was right about the same I never tested it. It was sprint lovers rom. I have a new battery coming in as soon as tomorrow so I'll test it again once I get it. Is there any suggestions for things I might try?

Well this is from my galaxy s3, But when I had the evo I had decent battery life. Have you tried flashing a rom?

You could also calibrate the battery again.

I just did before I let it drain but I'll try again. But I am having an issue updating my radios. I downloaded the newest one from the link above and I've tried installing zip from SD and apply update from SD and neither one of them worked it says installation complete but my base band doesn't change and the steps posted in the link don't show up when I'm doing the update what am I missing? I am using revolutionary instead of amonra

There is no need to kill anybody son... Just get "Juice Defender" like he did and you'll go a day or 2 the same way... No real mystery to it...
Ok I am assuming no disrespect was intended but do not refer to me as son being 27yrs old and a veteran I can't stand that. And secondly thank you much for the juice defender idea I'll go dl right now and give it a shot

I'm from California so that probably explains the misunderstanding of the context used. Out here son, junior kid things like that are used to talk down to someone

Battery life on AOKP build5

Hello everyone
I am running AOKP build 5 since this morning. And the battery drains super fast with 6hrs awake including 2h30m of screen on. I would like to know what you guys get on battery to be sure this issue comes from my end, or from the rom.

I've recently had alot of trouble with roms and battery after leaving AOKP Build 4 to try a CM10 Nightly and then going to AOKP Build 5 since it came out that night. I get around 8-10 hours of battery life and it could be better. I leave for school at around 6:40 AM and need my phone to work til around 10:30 PM. So its not just you (unless we both are missing something )
My battery life is awesome. Using the UVLE1 radio with all stock CPU settings, 100% brightness, and no data disabling.

Try calibrating your battery. Did you wait 10-30 when you flashed the rom ?
The issue is gone after the second cycle. Today i got 12hours with 3:30 screen on and still had 8% left. Maybe the rom need time to settle down.

Battery life is horrid, am I missing something?

I'm running the stable cm 10.0 build with lean kernel. Brightness at half. From these images I'm barely achieving 9 hours with less than 3 hours of screen on time. I'm confused, I thought this rom/kernel combo was supposed to produce great battery life? Can someone help me. Thanks.

Calibrate battery if that's a new ROM give it a few days. My phone sucks battery no matter what kernel or battery. Just ordered an extended one a few hours ago. Hopefully, by the time i move to the fifth generation galaxy device, this retard battery issue will be solved
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda app-developers app
If your are planning to get a battery extension i suggest get the 3000 mAh of samsung this Jan 5th that would increase your battery life up to 49% (i read that here in XDA idk where is it but its true ) and also try TRINITY kernel would be awsome if you done like it you could revert back to lean - its only a suggestion
EDIT:
Is this your 1st battery cycle in this rom? usually that is normal the following charging cycle would be stable from what you expect
Been using this for 2-3 weeks now I was hoping it would improve but I
it hasn't. I'll give trinity kernel a try, thanks.

Calibrating is useless, its a bunch of snake oil. So don't even bother with that.
Sounds like you need to check for a bad app preventing your phone from sleeping, otherwise flash to stock and re flash.

Brightness at HALF? Why??
Etabindu another
I went with the qcell extended battery, currently running the Aeonfluxx v6 rom. On heavy use days I usually have 50% battery left. My stock battery didnt last 6 hrs before. The sg3 is my second Samsung phone, and both sucked with battery life.
Try a touchwiz rom bro... might save you some battery. also less widgets, check what apps are running during sleep mode and my favorite
Just carry an extra battery <---- problem solved

[Q] Battery Drain on all ROMs?

I'm experiencing battery drain on all ROMs I try except my backed up 4.1.1 RLS14.1 install. I've odined back to Stock UVDLJA and re rooted and flashed another ROM and the battery drain is still there on all ROMs, Syn energy, RLS15, WICKED v6. Android system seems to be taking up tons of battery in GSam Battery Monitor. There's definitely wake locks on a clean install..what else can I do?
Edit : I have an 8GB SD card and I haven't formatted it since experiencing the problem, should I?

I felt I had the same problem so I completely wiped my phone (cache/dalvik/factory reset/format data) and then reinstalled darthstalker with xone kernel and my battery life went from **** to great. I went from like 1% per minute of screen on to like 3-5.... yeah I had bad battery drain. I don't understand what could've possibly caused it, maybe too much flashing and eventually **** started to bog down underneath it all.

There have been many people with the system causing battery drain, and using Odin to go back to stock usually fixes the issue. I have seen it a couple of times after flashing a new rom, but it has gone away after a couple full charge cycles.

Weird battery issue

I had been running aokp task for a while and decided to go back to stock. I flashed stock and did a battery calibration. What I've noticed is that I get excellent battery life from 100 to about 40 percent. But from 40 percent onwards my phone dies very quickly. It starts draining about 20 to 30 percent in an hour. Any ideas why? Wakelocks seem normal too... Any suggestions?

give it sometime and it will be better than ever ...........transition effect from custom roms back to stock usually takes some times for your phone to adjust back to stock mode, there is nothing to worry about all is good just how devices act
