Thrilled with my note 2 - Sprint Samsung Galaxy Note II

I must admit this is only the second real smart phone I have had , my first being an evo 4g and although it was great at the start the terrible battery life and the lack of reliability soured the experience fairly quickly .
I have had this note 2 for about a month and everything about it seems to be heads above my last device , from the great battery life to the great sound quality from the wolfson Dac this thing continues to impress.
Not only is it the best smart phone I have ever used it just may be my favorite portable device I have owned.
The experience has been made better by the great information found on this Site , everything from showing me how to Root the phone and making the fantastic jelleybomb rom I am using along with the upgraded kernel....
So thanks to everyone involved with this great site for all the help .

Don't forget to check out gadgetsportal on youtube for great tips and tricks. I thought I knew alot about this phone and with just 2 of the videos I learned over 4 new things that make this phone even better. Even the spen got some new uses after watching the videos. This phone is freaking sweet.

Well.
Since you were creative enough to add a scale...I'll respond.
These questions are asked DAILY, however. So I wouldn't expect everyone else to be very kind.
Humn.
7.5/10 - General
10/10 - Me
What I mean is...
I've seen what seems like a large percent of users with problems with their phones. While I understand that those with problems are more vocal than those without...it just seems to be weighed differently with the GNex.
TONS of call/signal quality problems...
Screen problems...
USB randomly taking a ****...
Random reboots on even the stock rom...
Random bricks on even the stock rom...
While, I personally, have none.
I absolutely love it.
Build quality (again, for ME) is great. Feels great in hand.
Call quality/reception is again great.
Screen quality is great. It's a different type of screen than I'd PREFER, really...
But for what it is...great.
Size is great.
Customization (via custom roms) is great.
Great great great.

What he said.
Only downpoint i can see is: not gorilla glass (prone to scratches), bluetooth a little buggy. Which is very minor points in the overall picture.
Swyped on my CM9 Galaxy Nexus
I'd give it an 8.5
Definitely the best phone I've had so far but..
Screen does indeed scratch rather easily
Lack of SD card let it down a little too I think ( only 16GB version available in my area)
Signal on the phone not great compared to others
My GF has a new SG3 and she can get signal on hers in places where I have none ...
Other than that all good
His next thread will be rate your favorite rom and why
good day.
9-/10
Nexus being released at the end of last year should rather have quad core and better gfx hardware. Plus it could be even better if the softkeys had their own dedicated screen space so we could enjoy the whole 1280x720.
But the design of the phone plus the ui smoothness wins for me.
There is only one niggle I've had with the phone that I haven't been able to fix with a hack or app, that's the storage space. But I don't use my device for music and I can handle only having a handful 720p episodes of whatever I'm watching at the time.
I've had more fun with hacks ROMs and kernels on this phone than any other I've owned, and I can't say I'd swap it for anything newer. I may well be a Nexus convert.

Yes, I have installed several tactical nukes, chain guns, and an RPG on it.
For me it's either 8.5 or 9 out of 10. I'm on Verizon and have no issues. It's incredibly smooth and the UI and general aesthetics are futuristic and sleek. Only thing that ever makes me somewhat sad is that I absolutely love 4g, but 3+ hours of screen time and 16 hrs standby is max for this phone for me (even with the 2100 extended battery). So that's my only beef, which is quite a small one since it still lasts me the whole day on a single charge (barely though...).
10/10 for me. this phone does everything I need, and it does it very very well. perfect in my eyes.

10/10 for me......love the display
8/10 for me. Awesome performance with a lovely display. Only gripe is the battery. I get around 16hrs on medium usage. Might get a mugen/extended battery someday

Ghost screen issue and poor wifi reception are the reason
It's definitely not a 10. Got a few gripes I'd like to see gone in future Nexus phones, but it's a sold 8 at least.
For me it's 10/10....because of the updates, customization and the variety of ROMs to choose from...and the screen, oh it's just gorgeous!!!!
All my friends uses high end smartphones, and believe me all of those envy my phone just because of it's sexy look and eye catching display...and to add more of their envy, it's gonna get 4.1 Jelly Bean in a month's time, while my friend using Galaxy R is still stuck on Gingerbread...lol!!!!

I have 4 Android smartphones, and the Galaxy Nexus is by far the best.
The HD screen looks great to me, and the phone is fast, works well, and I have had no problems.
I have 2 extended batteries with a wall charger, so virtually no downtime, a rugged case, if I drop it, and there is great community support with lots of roms and kernels to choose from.
Some of the other new phones look great, especially their screens, but they don't seem to have as much community support as the Galaxy Nexus.

[Q] How do you like your Note 2 (after using it for a while)?

Howdy Note 2 owners,
I decided to return my HOX and ordered the Note 2 from Amazon. It is supposed to be here next Tuesday :good:
So I would like to ask for feedback from you guys those who have used this phenomenal device. What do you like most of it? And what you don't like?
Any suggestion or tips for new owners?
Thank you so much
If you are okay with the size, there simply isn't anything better.
I'd suggest coming in assuming you can't use it one handed. If you can, consider that a bonus.
You'll be more pleasantly surprised that way.
There's really very little to complain about with this phone. It's quite astounding.

Thats the correct choice you made... As even i sold my HOX for Note2 , I am really liking it. Size does not matter much now, As its trendier for bigger phone.
My money spent on NOTE2 brings be joy specially the S-Pen and features which i still need to learn. You got plenty of things to learn when you get NOTE2 .:fingers-crossed:

Been using it for a few days, it's a great device. Just can't believe I have an android phone that I don't have to carry a charger with me any more. Battery served more than 22 hours with wifi, gps, 3g, and automatic screen display.
Few hiccups sometimes with TW sometimes but not major and not frequent.
You will not regret it.

When I was waiting for the I phone 5 my cousin showed me his new galaxy s3 and I fell in love with the screen size and as app people knew that the iphone 5 would only have a longer display in decided to buy an GS3 and it was fantastic far more better than my iphone 4s it brought me the same feeling I had with the first iphone back in 2007, then I wanted a bigger screen and I bought the note 2 and it's even better than the GS3... The best phone I ever had.

I'm not sure that pure vanilla will be good with the massive screen, but you can use nova launcher it does the trick

dude this is so true
Sure there will be plenty of roms as the device become more available and more popular, I didn't root mine and honestly I don't seem to find a good reason to root.
I always root my devices to make the the phone go faster, have better battery, but there is no need with note 2 yet, from my point of view at least.

I've used a lot of phones and I can safely say this is the best phone I've used! In terms of raw performance and battery life, this ion another level!
Same here fantastic device that i play with now for a full a week.
If u look at kernel perseus thread and undervolt values it seems you can get even much more out of the chip...
So much that dev and other people wonders if it is for real...and so far it seems to be. Seems to me that samy did something quite special in response to the fruit chip....we all seems to agree battery performance IS OUTSTANDING..and thats not only it, spen etc...you name it.

was using note1, s3 before but my note 2 pwns them, honestly at everything- multitasking, battery time, design and etc. ;D
The comments from you guys make me felt so excited to get my hands on this beast next Tues
It's just a very different beast compared to the S3 I had for a while there. On paper I guess the Note II isn't a lot more than a bigger version of the S3, but it really is much better in many ways. I especially enjoy the big beautiful screen, the good battery life, playing with the S-Pen (though it's not very useful for me), I also think it feels better in the hand than the S3 did, typing is easier and more comfortable and I think the device looks nicer too!
I am getting my Note 2 tomorrow. CAN'T WAIT!!!
So I have some questions for those who already have this beast. It only has one button.. so how do you close apps and switch between apps??? How thick is the machine? How many rows and columns fit on the screen for apps? Never used touchwiz before only used sense.. I heard it is not user friendly? Do the home screens run in a continuous loop? How easy us it to root and unlock?
Thanks.. looks like I am getting one for my birthday from my hubby.. kinda nervous and ezcited at the same time..

Coming from a galaxy Ace , i find it awesome.
As i do not yet receive the case to protect it, i found the back very slippery, which is annoying for a so big phone.
I would have prefer a back with some rubber to stay well in one hand.
It will be better with the case even if it's even bigger

From Galaxy S III to iPhone 5..... to Note II? I need some opinions

Hi!
So, the thing is, that this summer, I got the GT-I9300, and was very happy with it. Late in December, I drowned it by accident, but luckily my insurance covered it, so I could afford a new phone. Being somewhat tired of not getting a fully working CyanogenMod10 because of the lack of Exynos-sources, I decided to pick another brand and/or model.
After some thinking, I landed on the iPhone 5. I was happy with my choice, for a while. I experienced a lot of small issues tho. When I turned it on, it wouldn't connect to my WiFi, so I had to connect it to my computer, and small annoyances like that. When I had set it up properly, adding accounts and such, things were starting to behave the way I wanted. Until I had a WiFi problem. Again. The connection would drop (speed would go ridiculously low), but the icon was showing full signal strength. After some googling, I found out that this was a common problem, and that many people had been getting replacements without any help. This made me want another phone, (I expect things like WiFi to be fully working when you buy a device this expensive), because waiting for an update fix from Apple could potentially take forever.
Since I wasn't noticed about all these issues when buying the phone, and when it's behaving this abnormal with a feature this critical (WiFi is one of the most important features for me), I might be eligible for return my iPhone in trade for another brand or model.
This leads me to my questions. Have anyone here had and iPhone or SIII and then bought the Note II later? What's you opinions regarding user experience, general OS "smoothness", and features?
When I had the SIII, the sources were an important part for me (though I didn't know SIII had no proper sources before I bought it). How is that on the Note? I know the Note II doesn't have the sources either, but how is the overall experience compared to the S3? Does it have the small "hiccups" the S3 had?
(Contacts and Phone opening lag and stuff like that). I'd really like to know, especially from former iPhone and SIII-owners.
(Sorry if I posted this in the wrong section, though I thought this might be the place for getting opininons from Note II-owners.)
I had s3, didnt like it because of some lag, 1 gb ram isnt enough for s3 with touchwizz. Note 2 seems to be perfect for me, had a lot of high end devices but note 2 atm best for me. But to be honest i didnt try iphone 5 but im thinking about buying it. Because atm im owning ipad mini and it is extremely smooth with even a lot of worser hardware than iphone 5. Just one thing bothers me about iphone 5, small screen damn it... XD
I had an iphone 5 for a week and then gave it to my sis as present and bought a note 6 days back. Well if your worried about network issues you wont have any with thd note 2, in terms of the ui and screen quality i belive it beats the iphone 5. Performance is great as long as your not gaming gameloft games. Play any hardcore games and you wont like the heat its way hotter than an iphone 5 while gaming only. Other than that the phone is reallly good never ever heats up.
1 excellent thing about the note is how fast it charges and the battery life. The iphon 5 is horrible when it comes to chargin, but also has amazing battery life. The iphone 5 shud be ur number 1 choice only if your a hardcore gamer otherwise the note 2 is a beutiful phone with great performance. Hope this helps.

Emmm no offence, but will hardcore gamer play games on 4" screen? Lol i dont think so. Hardcore gamers choose ipad or atleast smartphones with bigger screen than with 4"
Haha none taken i agree the screen is too small but i only mean in terms of optimization i found games more enjoyable on it and smooth.

Yes also why i chose the samsung phones over iphone , the screen needs to be big adn handy in hand something samsung just proved the could and its a must too seee streams and other media smoother and readable something they ALSO improved ones again . its just great i feel like i am on extacy at times i think about it hehe
I had the iphone 4. Sleek and sexy device but I had to charge it at least twice a day and phone gets really hot. Switched to note 1. Loved the screen size but battery life isnt any better.
Got the s3 non lte. The development support for the s3 is awesome. So many roms, kernels, themes and mods to choose from. However im extremly dis satisfied with the screen size. Battery life was decent 5hrs screen time on average. In the end I gave it to my girlfriend and decided to take the plunge.
I was very skeptical of getting the note 2 at first due to extreme limited development especially the Lte version. But after using it for 2 weeks. I have no regrets. Amazing battery life and no lag or what so ever on stock odexed rom. There isnt a need for a custom rom anymore!
Ive just gotten the 4.1.2 update for my country and im going to root it to use couple of tools for a better experience. Awesome phone!

Yeah, I can see why you are considering it because it is indeed very smooth. Screen size is not a very big deal for me though (I get used to new sizes very quickly), switching from SIII to iP5 was no problem. Getting rid of the pentile display was a plus tho

I'm not much of a gamer, just more like Granny Smith, Cut the Rope-type of games. So I'll be fine in that matter. Imo the iPhone charges very quickly, at least when i compare it to the SIII.

I agree very much about the development section for the I9300. It was awesome, but it was still disappointing that with every new version of ROMs, there occurred a new problem. But no performance tweaks are really necessary? Especially the Perseus kernel is tempting. One of the best kernels available for the SIII, and when it's there for Note II as well... It makes it hard to decide.
And do you guys have money to just give away a phone that expensive? That's insane :silly:
How's the Note's build quality? I really like the metal/glass design on my current phone, and the SIII felt more like some plastic toy in comparison... Does anyone know if there is any significant difference between the SIII and NII?
Also, I'm not really sure why I want the Note... It's so appealing to me in a strange way... I think I kinda miss the open file system, and being able to fix my phone's problems on my own.
I purchased the Note 2 first, then after 3 weeks I purchased the iPhone 5.
I was loving the Note 2, still do, regardless of it's charging issue, but I love my iPhone more. I've never compromised with quality, and that's why I will always use an iPhone. It really doesn't matter how many haters you'll find here, but how much YOU actually will love it.
About smoothness? Lol. How could you compare Android with iOS in terms of smoothness, or fluidity? Sorry, I can't.
At the end, well, you don't have an iPhone? You don't have an iPhone.

There should be a limitation on a mobile phone's screen size/body size. Imo, Note 2's 5.5" is already pushing it, any bigger will have a farewell from my end.
These stuffs will be carried in people's pockets and elsewhere, and this is not a laptop or netbook.

My wife has an S3, so I've found chance to mess with it as said before, it has a low ram for such device. Running quite laggy. My brother just have bought an iphone 5 and I've messed with that too. After using a note for 1.5 years and now note 2, iphone' s screen size came very small.
However tried and compared camera (note 2 is significantly better), lag, processing things and tasks etc. So after all stayed at note 2. It is the best hand device in the market in my opinion now. Whatever I was looking for, I've found on note 2. Even the screen size. It's all completed itself.
So, my two cents. If I born today once more, I'll buy note 2 once more.

I've heard the iPhone 5 camera is better than the Note II. Similarity, without even having used the iPhone 5, I can assure you it is smoother than any Android device.
Personally I've got a Note II, and I'm reasonably happy even though I miss HTC Sense UI and can't find any other launcher or widgets which compare to it.
Any sort of lag bothers me, and I would probably get an iPhone if the screen was at least 4.3" and it wasn't so expensive.

Ive read mixed reviews on the camera, but in general I think the iphone 5 was sharper from memory.
Ive only used an iphone 5 a few times but the camera was quite nice. Although the first one I used the camera was faulty and wouldnt start haha.
Overall all it is smoother than any android I've used, but still lags and jitters itself at times. The one I used also had wifi problems.
No phone is perfect. To each his own.

What many people used to going straight to AOSP or CM with their phones will say, is that touchwiz is actually tolerable on the note 2, mainly because of the phone's power. I've grown to appreciate all the stock features, something I'd never thought in my wildest fantasies.
After removing bloatware and using a custom tweaked stock rom, i found the note 2 lag free a couple of days after I got it. Still is. Disabling scrolling cache fixes lag from poorly optimized apps like Tapatalk, what many people refer to as micro lags.

Hi
Please could you explain what you mean by "disabling scrolling cache" and how you go about doing it? I would very much like to get rid of any lag in apps like Tapatalk and Whatsapp.
Thank you

I am not aware of it as a standalone mod yet, so you'll have to flash omega rom and find the mod in its repository. Have no idea if it's rom specific.

Not sure if this helps but if ur phone is rooted then install a cpu control program like setcpu and change the value for max cpu to 1ghz or 1.2ghz. Still runs buttersmooth in nova 3 or mc3 and doesnt heat up as bad. Warm... not hot.

Your experiences with SGS III

Hello All,
I've mostly lurked on the forums and found a lot of information related to Android as well as various phones. I'm not a noob and have flashed ROMs, radios etc. and know a bit about Android and Android devices in general.
Now to the reason for the thread. My wife is eligible for an upgrade and wants to get rid of her Inspire 4G due to various issues. She would like to get an SGS III but I want to ensure that is the correct choice before proceeding. I had previously looked at the Motorola Atrix HD (discarded due to only 8 GB of storage and no ability to save apps to SD in ICS and beyond) and the LG Optimus G (still thinking of this). I would like the opinion of the helpful people on XDA regarding the following points pertaining to the SGS III since it's been out for a while now. Any opinions you can provide would be very much appreciated.
1. Signal (not had a good experience with signal on the Inspire 4G - lots of dropped calls. We live in an area that doesn't have the best signal but it has been ok on other phones that we own)
2. Battery life (again not a good experience on Inspire 4G). I'm aware of the extended battery available but would like an idea of the stock battery life that can be expected
3. Screen readability, especially in sunlight (this was not one of the cons on the Inspire 4G but is based on reviews indicating that the SGS III doesn't go as high in brightness as other phones)
4. Touchwiz (She prefers the stock AOSP interface - Cfx ROM - running on her phone currently over Sense and I haven't played with Touchwiz yet to figure out pros/cons)
Any personal feedback that you can provide on the SGS III based on your time using it would be much appreciated. Please note that I do not intend to flash ROMs on the phone since this is going to be her daily driver and I would rather keep it stock (at least in the beginning ).
Thanks in advance.
I would say you are correct about deciding against the Motorola. I looked at the LG but have read some really bad things about the phone. When I was in the store the ATT employees confirmed that its not that good of a device.
I can say that the GS3 is IMO the best phone you can buy for ATT. The battery life for me is good, the screen is nice and you can make it bright if you are in direct sun. If you search a little you can see a lot of bad comments about the LG screen. The GS3 out of the box is fast and is a very capable phone even without a custom ROM. I disabled a lot of the bloat and stuff I would never use and I am impressed with the phone.
If she can wait, I would say hold off for about 3 months. We should start seeing the new 2013 LG, Sony and Galaxy S4 here very soon. Most, if not all will have a 1080p screen, better battery life, lower power consuming 8 core or quad core processor, etc.
A lot of people speculate these to arrive this summer May-June months specifically. Would be a shame to burn up her 2 year agreement now when a lot of new toys are right around the corner.
Thanks

iceman - I appreciate your feedback. I was thinking the same thing considering all the recent processor announcements (Tegra 4, Exynos 5, Qualcomm 800 series etc.) and the rumors about the GS IV, LG's next big thing, 1080p screens etc. I'm just not sure she would like the 5"+ screens those are expected to have. I'll ask her to hold out for a few more months. Even if she doesn't like those, they should make the GS III fall in price, at the least.
Thanks again.
best phone spec wise is probably the galaxy note 2 followed by the galaxy s3 . the blackberry is worth a look to i find it feels cheap and has small screen. Id wait for march-april thats when most of the tech seems to come out. theres tons of new ones coming out soon id wait for the galaxy s4(Exynos 5 Octa is a chipset manufactured on ARM’s big.LITTLE architecture, packing four Cortex A15 cores at 1.8 GHz for the tasks requiring a lot of processing power and four 1.2 GHz ARM A7 cores for the basic tasks, which are supposed to improve the battery life. )
My personal feelings towards the Galaxy S3 are overwhelmingly positive but mostly after rooting and playing with various ROMs and kernels and finding the right balance of things. I do favor the TouchWiz interface over Sense and even over stock AOSP but not necessarily the stock TouchWiz. I don't know whether or not you'll be rooting the device and customizing things but if I had to deal with the phone stock I'd probably have been happier with my previous 4S.
Battery life is very solid now that I've changed kernels and ROMs and found the right mix of settings. The stock battery life didn't impress me greatly but it wasn't the worst I'd seen by far and given it's capabilities was probably right in line with what I should expect. I'm actually very surprised by how great my battery life is now that I'm running DeviantKernel on Wicked ROM with the settings I've chosen.
Hopefully that helps some.

I think that's only accurate with the international version. I don't know where the OP is located but in the US, and possibly elsewhere, the S3 has the Qualcomm cpu instead of the Exynos if I'm not mistaken which would put the One X ahead of it technically. Then again I may have misinterpreted and you're talking about other things.
Best phone I've ever used.
My wife and I both got sg3's together. Mine is now running Task's ROM and my wife's is still stock. She loves it just the way it is, and i am fine with that, now i won't have to be constantly flashing hers or hear her complain about glitches, she uses it for news, Facebook and gossip mags and texting. Stock Is fine for all that. I honestly don't know many people who actually talk much on their phones anymore, and if that is the case, then screen size is important. I don't know how all these girls stare at their tiny iphone screens.
My 2 cents

Thanks for providing your feedback. All of the responses suggest that I can't go wrong with the GS III. Glad to know that Touchwiz is better than Sense. I didn't even consider the One X due to the improper priority setting for the Sense UI over all the other running apps. But as some others have suggested in this thread, since new phones are coming out I'll wait a couple of months before making the decision. Her phone is now running stable with the AOSP Jelly Bean ROM provided by the CodefireX team so I think I can afford to wait.

You may be right for the processor speed but the no SD card no removable cover (iphone model) and I just feel Samsung makes a better product IMO.

I seriously love this phone...
fast, smooth and great battery life.
I have been very happy
sound quality
very less weight, bright screen, fast processor and a great rom with features no other vendor yet provided.
I heard great reviews about the audio quality of international S3. Does the ATT model and international have different audio chip's?

I loved the ext SD card and also with 64 GB support, that was a buying point for me. Removable battery, hardware home button.
I love mine and got one for my wife this past Christmas. She had the atrix and didn't like the size of the s3. Now she can't put it down.

Look honestly plain and simple
The GS3 is enjoyable even with TW.. 2Gs of ram makes this butter smooth with TW. And that says alot
(And for those who come and whine and say 'boo it doesn't AOSP rocks' this is just an opinion with MY personal experience)
I have a hard time deciding which ROM to use.. I have a nandroid of TW and AOSP just to switch back and forth...
No dropped calls, excellent signal and good reception.
Battery is amazing even with stock TW
Screen is amazing and I have no trouble seeing it even with brightness turned all the way down.
TW has its benefits over AOSP as does AOSP does over TW.
In over all its a HUGE step up from a Desire and blows the Optimus out the water in my opinion.
Easy to root easy to fix if you're soft bricked and good ROM choices.
I came from a Galaxy Note and this puts it in the DUST... I wouldn't have any other phone

I own a note and an s3 and I agree that the s3 is way better.
so much smoother and faster
S2 was my first smart phone before that I had flip phones no text no nothing. For a skyrocket it's only ok. S2 was amazing and best of what was out but with hardware I'd issues bad drivers and just Samsung sucking I think s3 could been the best again and wasn't. I'm disappointed in how much better it could be. It's great phone I love it. I don't protect it just good warranty no issues. But Samsung sucks. They got billions and can't release a driver to work with Windows.that just upsets me a lot. It's pathetic. Because of Samsung the s3 is only even player of the game not the leader as it should be and could be. Laziness isn't excitable for a billion dollar company or being cheap. Christ I wish could beat up the guy who released last drivers.

I just came over from t-mobile and had an HTC Amaze lovely phone but sense was terrible and it killed the battery almost instantly. I had to purchase additional batteries to pop in whenever I went anywhere.
I have had the SGIII from AT&T for about a month now, and it is still stock, I haven't even rooted it... I probably will one day when I'm bored but for now I'm happy. The battery life is like 100x better than my amaze was stock and the screen is bigger as well. I also get a lot better signal with AT&T than I did with T-Mobile. I can actually use my phone at work now! As for the touchwiz, I already own Apex Pro and SSLauncher so I didn't keep touchwiz as the default for long. I am too "nerdy" when it comes to customizing. The bluetooth works flawlessly in my car for making phone calls and listening to podcasts and music. The camera works great, and I like how it flashes first then flashes again to try to prevent people from blinking. Also the SGIII is one of the few phones that still comes with a wired headset.. it's the small things that count
I recommend you do NOT get the LG. I have the LG Optimus from t-mobile at home and it can't even do app2sd nor can I root it to add apps2sd. I was going to install a bunch of games on it for my 6-year-old to play on, but 3 games in I got the "storage full" message. It's going to ebay and I'm gonna get her a tablet or chromebook instead.
The S3 was/is my first android device and I love it. Coming from an iPhone, expandable storage and a removable battery are very welcome. The screen size feels great and looks great as well. I kept touchwiz on it for about a month before I rooted it and flashed a new rom. For the most part TW was ugly as sin and frustrating.

Would you still buy the NOTE II/ Do you regret buying it

thinking of buying this phone and trying to decide if i buy it for Tmobile or Verizon (no more sprint for me) one thing i need though is to be able to talk and surf the net at the same time...
Anyone regret buying this phone.....
What do you love the most of this phone?
What do you hate the most of this phone?
many people complain about the size of the phone which does seem huge but i can comfortably use it with one hand so thats not an issue for me i actually type better no typos not like on the sgs2...also i dont wear skinny jeans so it fits in my pockets without a problem
Hows the reception on this ? sgs2 and sgs3 reception really suck
If I were in the market for a phone right this moment I would most likely buy the Galaxy Note 2 again. I have absolutely no regrets whatsoever over getting this phone. I hate the bloatware that comes preinstalled on it that cannot be removed without root access and the somewhat limited flexibility of the Multi Window feature among other things. However, these are minor things that in no way tarnish the appeal of the Galaxy Note II to me. As for what I love about this phone, on the other hand, I could be here all night though I'll keep it brief: Multi Window, S Pen functionality, the sheer size of the screen (although 5.5" doesn't seem so massive anymore compared to the competition's 2013 flagships) and the larger capacity battery which easily gets me through 1 - 1.5 days of heavy-ish use.
I hope I've answered your questions and good luck!
Galaxy 3 bad reception?? U must have had a bad one in the at&t forum and me personally have never had bad reception with it. I don't think I've ever lost more than 1 bar or dropped a call

Best phone I've ever bought hands down..
I would buy the Note 2 again in a heartbeat. it does everything i want it to do and does it all day long.
I just got this phone in Feb. And I love this beast. I would buy a second one for the wife. We'll wait for the S4 for her. No regrets on this phone. I haven't rooted it and might not need to because I can disable the bloat.
thanks to everyone who has replied back .. best way to get real feedback is to ask the real heavy users ... video reviews are good but only to a point which is why i thought i asked on here
When I bought it I watched this video on YouTube. It made me realize this phone is a monster to a point that I will never buy any other phone again. Only newer Notes that come out when it's time to upgrade.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9nh2NSLgaII&feature=youtube_gdata_player
No regrets whatsoever, and I haven't even scratched the surface of what this phone can do. Even without all the fanciness of hooking it up to the smart dock etc, just having the multi-window, the pen, the battery life, and that large screen is such a plus.
I would definitely buy this phone again. I paid $690 on release day and feel like I already got my money's worth..I commute 3 hrs a day, too and from work, so my phone gets heavy usage.
This is the Best phone I ever had and the Development is already hard to keep up with!
Love the phone and I love it even more that is rooted with the amazing battery .

no regrets at all!!! have had an amazing time thus far with this phone, it takes care of everything that i throw at it, and covers all my uses while on the go, in a sleek design. its powerful for whatever you want to use it for. if i had to buy it all over again, hands down i would not go for any other phone at the moment. screen size is amazing, multi-tasking (w/ multi-window), S Pen, battery life are all amazing! i honestly have no complaints whatsoever with this phone! as with all carrier spcific phones, bloatware will always be present, but for that you can always root and clean up. besides that I LOVE MY GN2!!!!
Idk how to get amazing battery life on this phone without rooting, I get on average max of 7 hours heavy use, 12 moderate use, and 18 light use.

Another way to look at it is through the resale market. You wouldn't see too many Note II available. Most Note II users simply couldn't find a better replacement.
