Yes this is normal.

Yes this is normal, 2GB are for RAM, some for the OS etc. and the rest is free memory.

Wth does ram have to do with nand memory?
To OP. That is correct amount but not cause of RAM. The 16gb memory is partitioned for system, cache data etc.
And the one left is your sdcard.
You can always an external sdcard for music, photos and movies.
But game data and some other data like from gps apps must install in internal.

I just read something about nand memory being used as ram extension. I have no idea if that is the case here or not. http://wikibon.org/wiki/v/The_adoption_of_NAND_Flash_as_a_Seamless_Extension_of_RAM_Memory

If I understand that correctly it means that after ram is filled it will use nand space as virtual ram. I think that would decrease read speeds as nand is significantly slower than ram.

Yes that is what I understood from the article too, so we have dedicated 2gb of ram that has nothing to do with the 16 gb of storage, right? I wasnt entirely sure

Yes. Ram is autonomous memory. Nothing to do with the internal 16gb nand flash memory.

why don't you move some of the installed apps to SD card?!
um, I moved all the apps to SD card I could. Meaning the ones that support moving. I could force move to SD card for some apps, but don't want to screw with that.

That message is there for a reason and if you know what your doing some times it just takes common sense you can move most of your apps to SD card even if the creator of the app doesn't allow it in the app setting 's

How come some phones are okay with less than 20MB free... anyway, arc's internal memory size is way too small... "common sense", huh? Well, I have my own reasons for not wanting to force the apps to SD...

Links2SD works wonderfully for the Xperia 2011 phones.
I did the "move to SD" for every app possible, but still ran into issues downloading games from the Market due to only have 20-70 MB free on the internal phone storage.
But, using Links2SD, creating a 1 GB partition on the SDCard for apps, and moving/linking pretty much everything to that, I have over 150 MB free internal phone storage for app downloading.

It isn't big, but not too small.
Some of us, as I do, have more than 100 apps and ~100MB left.
Once I had 145 apps and 80MB were left, I just use the native App2SD. No Link2SD etc
Do you clear your cache regulary?
Gives me back ~10MB each day

Well, if you compare Arc's internal memory to some other devices' that have 16GB of it, it does seem tiny, doesn't it? I have more than 200 apps and I use Apps2SD, so I move apps to SD if they support it. I used TB to force some huge apks to SD, like Epic Blue and Green themes for CM7, but it's a bit of a pain if you're on one of those themes when you have to reboot, because you have to reapply the theme after the phone boots up. And yes, I wipe cache on daily basis. I'm getting myself 32GB memory card so I'll probably try Link2SD or something like that. I currently have 2 class 8GB card which I got with the phone. Lousy card, lol.
But anyway, I just wanted to know if it was possible to get rid of that Low on space message. Like, okay, I know I'm low on space, I'll see what I can do later, but get the fck away from my status bar now cos you annoy me...

I think we should remove unuseful applications.
Does anyone know the way to backup applications, group them by folder and restore all without asking anything?

eMMC stands for embedded multi media card. Its basically the SD that came with your phone. You can use an app called storage analyzer to see what is taking up space on the emmc .

it cant be the internal storage in the phone cause i had a 16 gig sd card...the eMMC was like 11 almost 12 gigs..and when i go on titanium back up it says...
system rom: 617 mb (332mb free)
internal: 2.11 gb (1.34gb free)
Internal eMMC: 12.0 gb (1.12 free)
SD Card: 31.9 gb ( 16.7 gb free)
So it cant be in internal storage...?...can someone PLEASE help...i need to lower that Stat...lol...thanks in advance... ;-)
The internal memory on my t989 is incredibly sluggish, there isn't a whole lot of storage being used. Only a few gigs. Tried to transfer a 200mb file onto the internal memory and it took 10 some odd minutes. :/
Could anyone provide me with some insight on speeding it up or should I just try and RMA the phone? Would I benefit from completely reformatting my t989?

What ROM are you on?? Sounds like your read cache is set to 128kb.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-T989 using xda premium
internal memory is Class 10
it's pretty fast IMO
you just need to clean up some junks and not keep installing as much Apps/Games to the SD card
the more Apps you have, the slower it takes

What does the following error in link2SD mean?
Sent from my R800i using xda app-developers app
I have enough space on my partition so I don't understand the problem
Sent from my R800i using xda app-developers app
not sure but i am having problems also with 64gb sd so i would probably think it's the same with too big partition, it's advised to be less than 1GB
hopefully it sorts out the problem after testing
Sorry this maybe off topic but undisputed guy what rom you using? And how did you remove am/pm from status bar
Sent from my R800i using xda app-developers app
I'm using Gin2JB. I think AM/PM goes once you change it to 24 hour time format

The strange thing is that I had it working fine but then I wiped my partition (not before moving the apps2SD) because it was full and now it doesn't work

How I that that rom for gaming against nxt le because I use nxt le with a visualization mod wich makes it look alot better is gin2jb just gb themed to look nicer?
And haha how stupid of me not to realise that lol thanks mate
Sent from my R800i using xda app-developers app
Gin2JB is just gingerbread themed to look like Jellybean. It works well and gaming is smooth although I do experience bad lag on some games such as the amazing Spider-Man. Not sure how it compares to NXT as I've not used it.
Regarding link2SD, I got everything linked eventually by persisting but then saw that my 1.5GB partition was somehow full which I didn't understand. I don't get how apps could take up over 1.5GB so I decided to move everything back onto the SD card and try linking them again. Don't really know what I was thinking. This led to the phone displaying and having less than 1mb internal storage which meant I could barely do anything. I moved 2apps to the SD card from settings to free up some memory but I don't know why it did that as I already moved them to SD using link2SD.
Anyways, my problem currently is why my whole 1.5GB is being filled up? Why is it taking that much storage?
Sent from my R800i using xda app-developers app
Less than 1GB partion? Oh Dear.. My partion's 2.5GB and its fine. Im running a 32gb SD though and my phone decided to move all of my apps back to internal storage.. Sigh. And I dont think its booting up anymore. >.<

I had a 2GB partition on my 32GB SD but this 64GB card is causing problems without a partition.
Is it normal for a 1.5GB partition to be filled up using only link2sd?
Sent from my ASUS Transformer Pad TF300T using xda app-developers app
Well, My partitions 2.5GB with only 0.9GB space left. So I think ive used 1.6GB alone. >.< I only have 404 apps altogether according to Link2SD (Including System Crap)
Thanks for the reply. Looks like i need to make my partition bigger then.
On a slightly related note, why isn't TB restoring my missing apps with data? It either fails or says the batch restore is finished yet i have nothing. I just need tetris and bruce lee as they can't be had from the play store

That is the total storage our phone has. Roughly 1GB for apps, 0.7GB for system and around 1.7 GB internal SD card if my memory is serving me right.
