Hi guys,
I want to flash TWRP recovery but everytime I want to flash it hang on "sending recovery.img".
Phone is unlocked, hboot 1.39.
I have downloaded recovery few times from origin source but its the same.
Any suggestions maybe?
Erased cache before flashing the recovery ?
Fastboot erase cache
What happens when you try another recovery
http://db.tt/Krlm4dPs
"fastboot devices" lists your device?
File in fastboot folder?
Try downloading the adb/fastboot package again, and if possible, from a different source.

Sorry for late update.
Yes, its sorted now. Had to plugged and unplugged few times within several USB ports.
Did you happen to use a non official cable (not from HTC) ? I had this problem once last week, fastboot devices came up positive but the actual flashing went very wrong !
Nope, it was official. One I got with HOX.
Happy that is all sorted
Yeah that's for sure !

I have been facing bootloops recently. It started all of a sudden. I am able to reach CWM but i dont have a backup to restore though i have a backup copy in my computer which i am unable to copy as the device doesn't enter into adb mode. And i am not able to flash any roms as there is no rom in my virtual sd card. Any help would be appreciated. Can i somehow get into adb mode? And btw the screen kinda flickers when booting.
Edit: Found CWM supports adb mode. Will revert back soon.
Edit2: I think i lost CWM too. Now just bootloops.Pls help.
Edit3: I get CWM sometimes and sometimes not. Not able to push backup through Gnex Toolkit.
Not sure, but can you push factory IMG through the toolkit and see if you can get your backup from there?

there is no ADB being used. only fastboot.
the post tells you how to do pretty much everything the proper way.
Bad cable or something, try another cable.
And trash the toolkit.

Changed the cable. and followed the above linked thread, but the problem persists writing failed too many links..
1)Are you connecting the device directly to the PC's back usb port (the ones physically connected to the motherboard, not the ones in the front)?
2)Using a USB hub? Don't.
3)Dual boot Linux.
4)Ditch windows.

I bought a GPE, unlocked, rooted and installed TWRP.
Then I found a dead pixel, so I started the RMA process.
Now, to be safe, I want to revert back to stock.
I would be using the files found here where the partitions are listed:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=48352057&postcount=1
I am trying to figure out how to flash the stock recovery back to the tablet. I was told I can run the following from ADB to complete the process:
Code:
adb shell
su
dd if=/sdcard/nameofrecoveryfilegoeshere.img of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/recovery
But, looking further, couldnt I just perform a fastboot command?
Code:
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img

Ouch, i'm not quite sure what to suggest. Have you got a dedicated ADB/Fastboot folder? i.e on my laptop its c:/fastboot

I have never rooted the device but now this is big surprise to me. I had given the device around a year back to a dealer here for some repair. I had found an app called SU which when I searched on google shows as a root app. I can't remove the installed app as it gives error. Please help me to resolve this issue and install the Android 6 on my phone.
I'm a pure layman on these technical items. Age isn't on my side to understand most of the technical terms

then install the OTA enjoy

It says UNLOCKED highlighted in purple on the bootloaders screen. This means your bootloader is unlocked. No need to unlock it again.
TWRP should install fine. Use the fastboot method to install TWRP. TWRP Manager app is a needless middle man, and can cause issues in itself.
But you may have to re-install HTC Sync to get fastboot working (based on the error message show in your PC screenshot).

TWRP 2.8.7.0
Hi, this is my first time rooting a phone.
I was able to unlock, flash TWRP, install and root my phone with Magisk following this video from Munchy
Following that, I installed ArrowOS and wiped (Format Data) with TWRP, as per this video from Munchy again.
But then I noticed that on boot, my Magisk app stated N/A, so I assumed I had to reroot the phone again, so I followed this video but I think I flashed the wrong boot.img, and arrowOS was unable to detect Wi-Fi at all.
I then tried to use this to restore stock MIUI following this tutorial and now my phone is stuck on this screen as per my attached picture. Selecting any option here just brings me back to the same screen no matter what I try, can anyone help?
This is what MiFlash looks like as well after everything:

Now you can flash whatever rom you want. Just make sure the "install recovery after flashing" or whatever it says is checked. It will automatically flash Orangefox after the ROM so it sticks. Make sure it is checked when you flash any rom. If the ROM doesn't come with Gapps you flash the ROM first, reboot recovery then flash Gapps then Magisk, then Format data (not wipe data, format data) then restart and you should be good to go.
I'm glad you got that flashing error sorted out. I still get shivers in my spine when I see that error...
