I was looking for something similar to GripTight micro stand (http://joby.com/smartphones/griptight-micro-stand/) but they only have it for S3 with no plans for N2 yet. Those other wire-wrap ones, like Breffo, will not hold it securely, and a regular stand you lean your phone on is also not what I'm looking for. Definitely would like something like that GripTight which clamps to the phone with a minimum bulk and can be used as a kick stand or phone holder while I'm in bed watching or reading. My current case has a kickstand which I use with my finger through it to hold the phone, sort of like an alternative to FlyGrip, etc. I will be switching to another case without a kickstand and don't want to attach anything to it permanently like that flygrip or bunker ring, but rather have something I can clamp on and remove easily. Any idea, please?
So, nothing really?
I have an Arkon weighted car mount that makes it like a GPS on your dash. Made for Note I, but works perfectly on the deuce.
WALMART has it for less than $25 IIRC
I was using it over the Holidays at a mini desk with my BT Keyboard and OTB mouse.

That might actually work! Totally forgot about Arkon (I have their Ultra-Grip in a car and arm-band pouch). I actually heard Arkon suppose to release an updated Ultra Slim-Grip version of this grip. Will see if I can find out more about it.
Btw, what keyboard and mouse are you using?

They keyboard is a Logitech BT keyboard made for Android 3.0+, and the mouse is just a wireless Logitech (I used a few different ones actually).
What would be really good is to get a BT keyboard and mouse combination, leaving the MHL port available. (Because Samsung is taking forever to supply the Smart Docks)

Just got it set up with my GT 10.1. The beauty of the stand is the fact that I can have my Samsung Book Cover Case installed on the tab, have the charging cable plugged into the bottom of the tab, and have the tablet on the stand with the volume controls and 3.5 jack on the top. Almost every stand I have found did not have enough room for the connector to be installed while placed on the stand, but this one fixed that for me, at a grand total of $10 on ebay!

Galaxy Tab with stand, charging.
wow that is so awesome!
seems nice... how sturdy is it? did you try any other stands or was this the first one you got?
personally I dont need the ability to charge it while on the stand, so sturdiness is the name of the game for me, so i've been thinking about the Arkon but maybe this is even better... just curious if you tried the Arkon out also?
Regarding how sturdy it is... for me, it's perfectly fine. The problem I found is I keep my desk clean with pledge, which makes the surface too slippery and the stand itself doesn't have any way to grip. I think I will just stop down at the local hobby store and find some sort of rubber strip I can put on the feet of the stand to have it stop sliding. Besides that, I only get a minor wobble when tapping the screen, but only at the top, and only if I press abnormally hard. For $10 you can't beat it.
nice 10char
Just bought one.
That looks really nice.

I have the Arkon, it's very sturdy, very adjustable. It's made of some sort of hard plastic/polymer, with foam cushion layer on the bottom so it doesn't slide and where it touches the tablet. The only issue is the tablet sits too low for the charge connector in landscape mode.
lol, it is a rabbit
I was looking to buy a bluetooth keyboard/touchpad for my galaxy tab 10.1. The only one I could find that was specifically made for the galaxy tab is this one:
ebay. com/itm/TouchPad-Keyboard-Case-Samsung-Galaxy-Tab-10-1-P7500-P7510-/130620515054?pt=US_Tablet_Accessories&hash=item1e6996e2ee
Can anyone comment on its functionality and quality? I don't want to pull trigger until i'm sure that it's legit.
Thanks.
This is probably not the one you meant, because it has no touchpad. But this is what came up when I tried your link. Don't know how you'd use a touchpad with an Android device.
As for this one on eBay, the seller seems legit. Don't know about the case or how well the keyboard works. He's selling one of them every few minutes. It's really inexpensive, but you know the old addage.... "Ya get what ya pay for".
Pictures look OK. I'll tell you in a few days if it's any good. I just tossed $25 bucks at one.
Update... Case/Keyboard arrived today. It works very well and both the case and the keyboard seem well made. For $25, this can't be beat for someone who just wants to use a keyboard occasionally. My only complaint is that it adds too much bulk to the Tab. I'm going to get the official Samsung book case as my regular case. I'll take the small rubber keyboard out of this case and just use that seperately.

Dont buy that one. It's overpriced. Heres the exact same one from the manufacturer. $10 cheaper.
As an aside....
I have a full sized Microsoft Media Center keyboard. It has a touchpad on it. Works fine with Android via BT. Once you touch the touchpad a mouse pointer shows up on the screen and you use it just like a PC along with the left and right mouse buttons.

Hi Guys
I am really struggling to find what I am looking for and am hoping someone might be able to help me.
I have a Galaxy S2 that has an 2000mah extended battery installed and a Case Mate Tough case.
I am looking for a sturdy car mount that will allow me to leave the case on but also does not cover the camera lens.
Any suggestions?
(PS.. the reason I dont want to take the case off each time is that to get the extended battery to fit under the tough case you have to leave the phone back off or it doesnt fit.
No one had any suggestions at all?

Having used quite a few car mounts I found the Tetrax Xway by far the best. Takes absolutely no effort to put your phone onto the mount and you can also use it for any next phone / tablet that you buy. It's also extremely sturdy, yet easy to take out the phone.
Wanted to link to the product, but since I am a new user I cant.. Lots of stuff you can find on youtube though. Try the galaxy tab one if you really want to be convinced of its sturdyness
Only downside is that you have to stick something to the back of your phone(case). Hasn't really bothered me though, but some people are a little OCD on aesthetics.
Edit:
One thing I forgot to mention is that this mount is also very easy to remove and should fit in almost any car since it uses the car vents. Very easy to install + remove.
exomount here. had mine ages, no lack of grip, survives a car with 20year old suspenion (classic mini) driving over terrible pot holed roads (Wales...).
We even fitted it to my brother's Rallycross car for some in car footage.
There's a Garmin rubber Base that you could place upon the Car Tableau the good thing about it that the device won't shake and move a lot while driving
35543-supergrip-samsung-galaxy-s3-case-compatible-car-pack
haven't used it, but looks interesting
I just found this new dock. It looks neat and cool. It should fit the S3 just fine.

There are 51 reviews, average of 3 out of 5 stars.
As a previous owner of the dock, I recommend staying away. As you can probably tell by the pictures, the dock is unstable and tips easily. But to make it worse, they only put a rubber grip on the back but not the front, leading to a lot of sliding around. Not to mention the rather high price tag. Avoid if you want an actual functional dock.

Yeah I was wondering about stability when I came across it a while back... Plus (at least in the UK) the only available colours I saw at the time were black or white

Those docks are nice, had that one for my Desire HD.
Only I prefer a universal one now, who will also work with a (alu) case.
I bought this one:

I've read the S8 versions are pretty magnetic and doesn't need to stick an extra magnet on the back. Is this true for the S9/+?
most likely. my s8 sticks without a metal plate on the phone. im pretty sure its the wireless charging coil in the phone that is magnetic and allows the car mount to work without a case or metal plate added. since the s9 will have wireless charging it should be the same way.

I have one of the cheap ball type ones, this type is definitely not strong enough and my S9 glides right off (with or without slim case). Maybe a more expensive one with better magnets would hold it.

I have a S9 case, which has metal plates embedded so that I don't need to stick anything on the phone back and use magnetic car mount, also it's wireless charging friendly.

Yes https://www.ipitaka.com/collections...m_source=XDA&utm_medium=lily&utm_term=S9 case, to be honest, it's my favorite case so far.
Seconded on the ipitaka case - I just got it and Love it, before I had a SUPCASE ($15 off amazon) with the metal ring in between the phone and the case and it bulged the case out a bit. The ipitaka case has a very premium feel, I like it a lot better, and it sticks to my wireless charger MUCH better
