Hi everyone,
first thanks everybody for making this forum my daily resource for news about my P936.
I tried almost every available ROM from Stock ICS to CM10 and Liqiud Nitro but everytime I got BSODs and random reboots. My device probably has a hardware problem, so I need to send it to LG for them to repair/replace it. That's why I need to unroot it etc. The .kdz file under the csmg-link seems to be unavailable and all the mirrors I checked already deleted the file - so my request is for anyone who might have the file:
Please upload it to a freehoster and help me out. It's greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance!

Just install the official LG updater and let it install the proper ROM. If you're having a problem with it, it's probably because you didn't remove the line you added to your hosts file when "unbricking".
If it won't let you update, install the v18f ROM (the one that comes as an EXE) first, then try the updater again.
found it
I found out how to download the exact .kdz file for your phone (directly from LGs servers: Exchange IMEI with your IMEI:
csmg[dot]lgmobile[dot]com:9002/csmg/b2c/client/auth_model_check2.jsp?esn=IMEI
THX to the 4pda.ru -forum.

If you get that error trying running on an XP machine. Or if you have Win 7 prof or above run in virtual xp mode. This is a known issue with win 7.

Yes there is. I tried this on Win 7 & Win 8 and it only worked when I ran it on an XP box. Even setting compatibility to XP on Win 7 or Win 8 wouldn't help.

It's more complex than that. It works fine on Windows 7 for many people, myself included. I'm not saying people aren't having issues with it, but to blame the OS is oversimplifying the issue. There are a million other possible causes.
The only only thing I haven't tried to do to get it to work on win 7 is to reformat and reinstall windows. I really would like to know why a lot of us are having issues with win 7. I know win xp works 100% . I am not exactly a newbie when it comes to computers with over 30 years experience including 20 years as a tech and it has me stumped. I would really like to get to the bottom of this. Also I would add that I have only tried this on AMD based computers when I get a chance I will try it on an Intel. But again it is just a guess.

Sorry for the late response. I followed the unbricking guide. flashing kdz's is almost always the same. Your phone doesn't have to be rooted. Just have the shttps server running and your hosts-file adjusted like the guide says, that should be sufficient.
Does anyone have any advise where to download latest P936 firmware? That link doesn't work for me with my IMEI - it only give back some UML file. Maybe this is just because of my imei - my phone is just for some testing purposes. Can anyone try it? Thank you!

For the "Upgrade stopped due to an error", I had just struggled with it for four hours, and won. I believe it could be that the kdz file had been corrupted during downloading, then I remember that I have an older version kdz, choosed it then voila, I'm back to stock.
hey in download mode you can not flash stock rom the kdz is not corrupted i have same problem and i have tried different versions of kdz but non of them worked
ive got the same problem, so is there any help for that?

You just destroyed your firmware, hope you back up your phone regularly because every data on that device is now gone. On the brighter note, since you know how to flash the rom, all you have to do is flash the device correctly and you should be good.

Thank you for your help, much appreciated. I have been running into this problem when trying to refurbish 47a or 48a. When LGUP is waiting 120 seconds for restart (about 80% in LGUP), my phone just keep restarting without completing the installation. It keeps bootlooping and then LGUP keeps waiting for my phone to restart. LGUP will say 100% but my phone is just bootlooping constantly.

If you're running Windows 10, try setting to Windows Compatibility Mode for the Flashtool app to Windows 8. I had the same problem you reported the first time I tried to flash a kdz file after upgrading to Windows 10. Changing the compatibility mode worked for me; kdz flashed fine afterwards.

About to buy this phone and am getting mixed answers reading through the threads. Can the latest build (D85130g) be downgraded or will I get an error with the flash tool. Don't want to spend the money and be stuck on stock. I know kingo only works with earlier firmware.

You can Downgrade from 30G to 10R, I did it a few times using LGUP without any problem.

THANK YOU! I've been trying to find an answer for a week.
People are moving on from this device I think.

Obviously. It's 3 years old. That being said, some of us are broke af and are buying it for the good specs. Despite the age
It still do the job well if hardware not failing. If you root it and put new software on it work as new so its very good.

I actually ended up buying it after confirming it could be downgraded. Ran lineage for a few days but despite being fast, was a little buggy for me. Currently running the stock 30g rom and aside from the crappy battery life, i have no complaints. This phone was definitely advanced for its time and gives new phones a run for their money. This phone is solid. 80$ well spent imo
I've been trying for 2 days to downgrade my G3 D851 and it will not flash using LGup or LG Flash tool 2014. The process starts, but always stops due to error. LGUP always shows Unknown Device [COM41, D85130e]. Have set port to 41 and random. Can anyone offer any solutions? Have tried tot and kdz.

i believe the flash tool I'm using is from this thread(https://forum.xda-developers.com/tmobile-lg-g3/general/firmware-t-mobile-lg-g3-t2818667) under "kdz flashing method". Using a stock 30D kdz from one of these threads. I don't set the port to anything. Never fails for me. If it doesn't work I'll zip the exact one i have and upload when i get home. Where is it failing? What percentage?
Thanks. I finally succeeded with LGUP. Turned out when I downloaded and installed LGUP, it came with 8994 dll, and the D851 requires 8974 dll. It still didn't work with KDZ, but I got it to work with TOT. What a PITA!!! I don't envy anyone else trying to root D85130e without advanced knowledge. Thanks for your offer to help. Maybe this will help someone else that is having problems. The LGUP download with the 8974 dll is here. http://oceanhost.eu/545euinlq0hw/LGUP_LG_G3.zip.htm

cool. I haven't tried a tot yet. I heard they quit working after you surpassed a certain update. No problem with KDZs here. Anyway glad to hear it worked out.
