[Q] android.process.acore unexpectedly stopped - Samsung Epic 4G Touch

I keep getting this error, specifically when using Go Messenger's contact link.
I've tried clearing my contacts data, calendar but nothing.
Can someone help? Thanks.

Uncheck sync contacts in FB. If that stops the error, then it may point to the fact that one of your Friends has a birthday of 2-29. Have seen some off site topics that the date is screwing with contacts being synced with FB..

I have actually tried that and checked all bdays from my Google Contacts and no one I know has that birthday. I've checked other sites and its all on HTC phones. I'm not sure if maybe its Google Calendar itself. I guess I'll try that next. Thanks!

Facebook account sync with ics-deck alpha2

Is anyone else having sync issues with Facebook? I downloaded the application and I was able to login successfully, but it still isn't showing up under accounts or in my contacts. I have checked the contacts settings to make sure it was set to display Facebook contacts, but the option was not there. I uninstalled Facebook and then reinstalled and added the account using the android accounts menu but after entering my information it still failed to show up. If anyone has figured out a solution, or has any suggestions, it would be much appreciated. I will keep trying on my end and post here if I figure it out. Thanks!

Do you still have the stock facebook apps installed, in particular the htcfacebook.apk

Facebook contacts sync is a bug related to ics in general. It won't sync on the galaxy nexus either.

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but I see you said "ics-deck alpha2"
Searching in the Development forum for "ics-deck" the only one I see is alpha1... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1380505
Was that a typo or am I missing something?

Interesting. Looking at his twitter, it seems that there's even an alpha3.
It seems strange that he would update his post (last updated on 12-25) and not include the most up-to-date version of the ROM, since that's the point of the post. It makes me wonder if the what works, what doesn't work, what's new, etc. that he lists corresponds to alpha1 or alpha3.
But, I digress. Thanks for answering my question

No problem. There was an alpha 3? All I saw was a pre-alpha 3.

facebook 1.9.1 and contacts sync

I understood that the new facebook 1.9.1 would sync contacts with ICS but I do not have this option in my GNex with stock 4.0.4.
Anyone else?

It doesn't sync at this time. It shows as an account you can sync, but falls to sync when you tell it to. Google blocks Facebook from sync at this time. Read the other thread about this same topic that was posted yesterday.

well my problem is that I don't even have the option to sync in the accounts manager 9see attached screenshot)
can you pls point me to the thread?
You should keep in mind that facebook copies all of your contact data onto their servers.
This really upset me when I found out about it, so I deleted the facebook app from my devices.

Loss of Contacts....

I recently flashed a new rom on my girls GS2 and she now is telling me that she is missing several hundred contacts. i asked her if they were all tied to her google account and she told me that they were until now. she's had several other androids in the past and always had all the contacts transfer just fine. I work for T-Mobile and i have seen this issue in a couple of other devices before but have never been able to come up with any sort of rhyme or reason as to what, why, or how this is happening. can anyone shed some light on this for me? and if anyone knows a way to possibly recover those missing contacts that would help me out greatly. plus, it kinda worries me to think that one day if i flash a new rom onto my phone i may log in only to find i have lost all of my contacts......
thanks
josh

thats the big issue, they deleted out of her google account completely. on the phone and online. she had something like 800 contacts (crazy i know) the other day and now she only has around 250. ive seen this happen with a few of my customers phones at work as well where one day they have contacts stored to gmail then suddenly they are gone. its very strange.
Umm were they mostly guys number?
Are you sure it wasn't part of fb of fb contact sync?

I dunno man if they were on her acct online and now they aren't...that's a Google issue. No idea where to begin to fix it.

I am having the same problem. Phone was setup to sync contacts to gmail... but now its gone off phone and off gmail.
If I recall correctly, Google has an option to revert to previous versions of contacts up to 30 days ago. Maybe that would work?

Is there a ROM for GNex that fixes Facebook sync?

I'm not too picky on my ROMs, I just really need my Facebook sync back.
I tried the replace contacts.apk method and failed miserably. I'd much rather just flash a ROM that has it already fixed.
Thanks Care,

Bought it
It said it sync'd. I went into my phone contacts, nothing. I went into accounts to make sure it was enabled and it was and it said it had sync'd.
Rebooted, still nothing.

Go to contact, menu, contacts to display, select haxsync open and check all contacts. If your on JB there's also a second part to the haxsync app called haxsync jb workaround app. Download that also

HTC 10 No longer scapes Facebook for contacts

Title says it all really, I had to install the social media.apk just to get facebook in blinkfeed
This seems like a huge step backwards I assume I'm missing something
Any info on this would be much appreciated
Probably part of the debloat. I use Sync.ME for the same features though.
I don't know if it did for the M8 or M9 either did it?

Do you know which apk controlled that? Just checked both devices and neither has Facebook contacts so it may be something I removed on the custom ROM.
I thought Facebook themselves killed that functionality a long time ago.
Hasn't worked on Samsung devices for a while. I'm wondering if it isn't a FB thing.
Sent from my HTC 10 using Tapatalk
What the 10 doesn't have and I find a little odd is no Blinkfeed integration!
So it comes with Facebook and Messenger stubs but no Blinkfeed plugin.
It doesn't come with Twitter, but does come with a Twitter blinkfeed extension
It doesn't come with Google+, but does does come with a Google+ blinkfeed extension
;p

I'm not sure. All I know is that I could add my Facebook account and it'd match names and photos

I think at some point that was a Facebook feature that they killed off sadly.
Sync.me is a great tool for doing it tho!
My T-Mobile M8 did Facebook contact sync. I eventually reflashed to AT&T and lost that functionality. Later reflashed to the unlocked version and it was missing from that version by that time as well.
Just tried sync.me, wow it fixes what I've been missing for so long. How could I not have tried this app. I've tried so many others with no luck this works great thanks everyone

Yes but as far as I know sync.me only links facebook contact picture to contacts and no other information and it doesn't link the contact to their facebook page
Yes Facebook killed that feature. What worked for me on my M8, was to google facebook apk version 27(I may have the apk in dropbox). That version had the sync contact setting. Once you did this your contacts will be back and then you can update back to the latest fb apk.

This is the method for syncing fb contacts if you dont wish to install other apps. facebook removed the contact sync from the app a while ago and an old app is needed to sync them them updating the app is possible.

Nothing to do with HTC, it was Facebook who discontinued the feature unfortunately. Use Sync.ME.

I tried installing the older Facebook app and keep getting an "app not installed" error. Could it be because of the Facebook app already loaded on the device...even though it's not the full app?
