Ringtones from Market apps only ringing once - AT&T, Rogers, Bell, Telus Samsung Galaxy S III

I'm currently on Tasks JB ROM and it'd awesome. Only problem is if I get a ringtone from Zedge or another ringer app after I apply it it only rings once and stops while I'm getting a call. I've tried transferring the tone into the system tones but still the same thing. Regular preinstalled tones are fine just not downloaded ones. Anyone else have this issue and know how to fix it?? Thanks

[Q] duplicate ringtones and notification sounds

I have noticed over the last few ROM flashes (currently on SR4) that for some reason my ringtones are duplicated at least twice, as well as notification sounds and alarm sounds. I am sure the answer is simple as to why but I have not had any luck finding anything on XDA or Google. Can someone explain to me why this is happening?
Thanks!!
When you say this, do you mean you hear two audible duplicate sounds - or are they listed twice somewhere.

Sorry, listed twice when you go to choose a ringtone, alarm, or notification sound.

Phone is completely muted!

I tried to change the media folder sounds to the s3 sounds and I suspect that my permission s are not right in root explorer. Can some plz tell me what my permission need to be in order to get my audible touches ringtones and notification sounds back on? Thanks!

I have a somewhat similar situation.. After flashing the stock jb ROM, I noticed that the phone only vibrates for the incoming calls and notification, so I was wondering how you did yours maybe it would help me. Thanks.
Similar situation with one of my t989's too. I noticed after updating to Jellies Bean, one of my two doesn't "hear" anything from my end. Someone calls, I can hear them but they just keep saying Hello Hello wether I call them or they call me. So, I opened camera and recorded a test video with camcorder and talked while recording, played it back and didnt hear anything, just a liiiiiittle white noise, like static, but clearly nothing of my voice. It worked before Jellies Bean for sure but ever since, still doesn't work. Any suggestions?

Messaging notification ringtone doesn't always play

My incoming mms notification ringtone doesn't always play completely. I use the whistle one but it usually sounds like more of a whimper. Once in a while it'll play the full ringtone but often it'll cut off abruptly, sometimes not even playing at all. I've missed getting messages due to this. I've tried using different ringtones all with the same outcome. They sometimes play completely, but mostly they don't or not at all. Is there any way to fix this?

Once you've reached your 200 text limit or w.e you set it at the ringtone cuts off. Try deleting your messages and it should play the whole ring for you.

If you use zedge to assign sounds you will not experience the "cutoff" issue.

This didn't work for me. But the cleaning out message thread did (for now).

(Q) Chomp SMS notification sound issue

Does anyone who uses chomp sms notice that if you are in the app and you receive a notification sound, the sound gets cut short. It seems to happen to me on every ROM. Anyone else?

I gave up on finding one that does that. Instead I found "profile scheduler". Is free in the market. Have it set up to change profiles automatically, and only allow contacts to ring my phone at night with no notifications. Not sure if that's what you are looking to do but it's pretty configurable.

I too use Profile Scheduler and it works pretty well..

I have been using an app called Smart Sound Profiles. It works as desrcibed.
Suuuuper happy with it. There is a free trial version available as well.
Volume and ringtone profiles with individual ringtone volumes depending on incoming calls and SMS (blacklist/whitelist) with automated profile activation (time- and/or WIFI-schedules)

You could flash custom roms as most roms incorporates this feature haha. Rasbeanjelly would be a good and stable rom to try, but it really is your own choice to flash whichever rom or to remain on stock.

Yeh ive tryed that app.. it works but it wont separate ringtone from notification volume..
I wont the notifications to be silent but the ringtone to stay on at night, cuz i work outta town and worry about my fiancée needin to get ahold of me for emergencies..
Acouple months ago she broke her ancle and almost died cuz she bled out and couldnt get to her phone, so i worry alittle bit now... she laid there from 2am till 9am when i got home.. it scares the **** outta me now..

I've used light flow to do this. It has a night mode and can have different sounds for notifications. Then I set apps (Gmail, etc) to be silent in the app settings and light flow handles notifications.

Not sure why this is not working for you, but it works fine for me.
It won't separate the sliders in the standard Jelly Bean menu, but when you set up a profile you can set ringtone and notification volumes individually.
A big issue I always had was that when I turn up the ringer volume all the way since the GN has a fairly low speaker volume my notification sounds would also be super loud.
With this app I can have my ringer at full volume and my notification at a comfortable level or mute (at work for example).
You can also create schedules for profiles and have them activate automatically at scheduled times.
