Boot animation from Nexus 4 stock 4.2.1 ROM (JOP40D) - resized it myself to 320x320 for MDPI devices (320x480).
Works perfect with our Gio and OldDroid's unofficial CM10.1 adding vanilla look and feel to Android.
Place/replace bootanimation.zip in /system/media using root explorer or similar, change owner to root:root and permissions to rw-r--r--

URL codes would be nice

thank you! I was searching for this bootanimation <3

Boot animation based a HD version of the PS1 intro. I do have the remastered sound, but I'm currently running CM9 and that doesn't support boot sound yet.
The boot animation is about 8 seconds shorter than the original 15 seconds simply because the phone boots so fast you wouldn't be able to go through the entire animation otherwise.
I also blacked out the "Licensed by Sony Computer Entertainment America" because it would either be cut off using 400x800 resolution or I'd have to drastically change the aspect ratio in order to fit it in.
I'll upload a .gif or a series of .jpg's later.
sorry im a noob here... how to use it?

You have to use Root explorer (or equivalent), and replace the bootanimation.zip in the /System/Media folder.
Just make sure that system is set to r/w.
Or use a PC and using Winrar or winzip replace the file within your original Rom. Zip.
Regards.
I don't have bootanimation.zip in my system/media folder. Runing xwlps

OK apologies. I'm running an Aosp Rom.
Samsung Roms have a different Media folder setup. It will be worth asking in your Rom forum.

phenomenal based on speedmod kernel, to make your bootanimation work you should do this:
use root explorer, copy your bootanimation to /system/media, make sure you make 2 another copy bootanimation
rename 1st copy: ODEAnim.zip, 2nd copy: sanim.zip
go to /system/bin, look for samsungani and rename with samsungani.bak
look for bootanimation and rename with samsungani
reboot and enjoy your new bootanimation:good:
can you try this?

Because it requires that library I've included. This is taken from a Note 2 Jelly Bean 4.1.2 ROM, no modifications done on any files I've attached.

No worries but for the background, you could have tried replacing it as it can be done through the LWP settings.

Hey winuxguy.
Thanks for the share.
I created a flashable zip to make installation easier, and set permissions in updater-script as well.
Here you go: http://d-h.st/EGo
Probably add it to the OP, and maybe give me some credits as well.
I have built odex file for Stock ROMs.

I'm not sure how to answer that. It is weird that a change in the first ROM affects the second one. but I'm glad it worked for you.

I took the marvel video from the installation folder of The Hulk game on my pc. Used video to gif converter & resized it to width of 320 & height of 480. Though the resolution fits our screen, the video didn't cover the entire screen. You gave me the ba but it isn't portrait. It is landscape.

Help!!
even after renaming the zip to "bootanimation.zip" and copying it to /system/media and permissiorns to rw-r-r-, still samsung logo appears when I reboot.. Please help me!(i've also tried /data/local and "rwxrwxrwx" still doesnt work)
I am using galaxy ace S5830(obviously rooted) stock rom with DDKQ8 baseband and cwm 5.something recovery...
And adding to the info, there wasn't any "bootanimation.zip" placed at that location(/system/media) before I copied it, just in case if there was supposed to be...
Thanks in advance,
Piyush.

You need a custom kernel mate so flash BatteryExtender, Cf-root... to get it
Here's a little boot animation I made for @rascarlo's beautiful ROMs.
This is not a flashable zip. To install please rename to bootanimation.zip, paste into system/media folder, and set permissions to rw-r-r.
