Update.zip won't be out until OTA starts which will probably be Monday.
However... let me pull an older version .ZIP and see if I can make one for ya.
(Can probably even throw in my root package if do it this way.)
Will also need to remove 2 images so it doesn't toast your existing data.

Most likely just dump /system and /boot and make a nodata flashable zip. Kind of a workaround OTA that will flash in custom recoveries on rooted roms

Hi. I just rooted my phone on FI27. Will I get notification to update to FL24 OTA? If so, is it safe to do the update or do I have to unroot first before updating?
i repacked the FL24 modem into a flashable .zip if anyone is interested,
it can be found over on the FL24 thread at sxtp in the 2nd post - http://www.sxtpdevelopers.com/showthread.php?t=113

Usually the update will wipe the root. So if you accept the ota yiu will be FL24 unrooted. Then you can reapply root.

If I can remember correctly, which it's been what seems like forever, there are two fixes to try (there may be other fixes):
1. Clear cache in recovery and restart and try
2. Attempt to check via Kies.

Does it matter if the custom ROM is EG30 or EK02 based?

Question: I'm rooted and on Calkulin's Rom. Should I accept OTA update when I receive it?
Does this Unroot or brick my phone?
Will I still get the update even if I did the qbking manual update? 100% stock not rooted.
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda premium
I think the bottom line is, if you have anything but stock EG30 on your phone (ROM, kernel and modem) the update will download but the install will fail. I doubt it will brick your phone as the update probably does version checks before it starts the install process.
Same goes for people with the EG31 modem. You folks will have to wait for a TAR leak.

theres no proof of that eg31 was provided by a sprint tester so that would mean his phone wouldnt take the ota either? we will just have to wait and see! but you do have to be on a stock not rooted phone and currently the only way to get back to completely stocl is with the eg31 tar
So im guessing a factory restore odin of eg30 is in order.

Yea we'll just have to wait it out then and stick w/ stock kernels for now. So far i haven't gotten a single LOS since flashing it. It's def a bummer tho, I wanna go back to those fancy kernels.
Okay, so I've searched and searched, but it's difficult to put into words my question:
I have a rooted Epic 4g touch running Calkulin's E4GT ICS rom v1.5 and Android Version 4.0.3. I don't use the root that much anymore, and the official Ice Cream Sandwich update is gonna be rolled out soon. Is it possible for me to update to the official Ice Cream Sandwich OTA update or do I have to unroot and do some other things before I can do that?
If worst comes to worst, I'll just stick with it being rooted. I just don't want to lose everything just to update to the official rom.
Thanks!

The simple answer is, don't take the OTA but rather wait a day or so until one of the Devs have it rooted and ready to flash.

Simpler answer IMO: Download sfhub's FF18 Odin OC and apply, unless you're waiting for a debloated version to be done. (I believe these are even already available...)

That makes sense to do it that way. Just wondering though. Do you know what would happen if someone tried to do an OTA update in this kind of way? Where you are going from unofficial to official?

I believe if you're on anything other than stock EL29 the OTA would simply failed when you tried to apply it. Nothing major just a minor inconvenience.
I'm running sfhub's rooted FF18. Is there any benefit to flashing back to EL29 and then taking the OTA or will it be identical?

Well if you have a custom recovery, then it may or may not flash. Some users tried to take it and got a status 7 error, while others took it to remove the notification and (hoping it would error out) were suprised to find it go through and it removed their root. The only difference with this update really is the firmware, but you can find flashables of those in freezas stock rooted thread

First off, the unpleasantness: This topic has been covered in many, many threads. Please run a search (or scroll through the threads for 10 minutes) and you'll most likely find your answer.
Ok, now for your answer:
Are you still using the stock recovery or do you have a custom one (CWM or TWRP)?
If you're on stock, you *should* be able to run the update. I'd recommend going back to Stock Rooted before updating, though.
If you're on CWM, you can try running the update. It works for some people running CWM, not for others. There doesn't seem to be a rhyme or reason why it works for some and not others.
If you're on TWRP, you can't run this update, but you can run the update files given by Freeza in his thread. If you just want to keep your ROM with the newest baseband, run the file "MB1 Firmware/modem/baseband update."
Hope the helps!

Does the leak GB27 match the official GB27 that just came out?
I'm on FL24 stock + root. I don't want to use flash an unrooted FL24, download Kies, update to GB27, then root it.
Wondering if I can just use the One-Click method from: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2191954
so I can avoid doing all that work and still have the same result.
I'm only asking because I read that GB27 repartitions the storage (or something like that).
I did what you didn't want to do. Some people stated that they are the same but I don't know for sure. I'm having problems accessing the settings and I wanted root back so I just flashed the no data on top of all this. My settings is still messed up and crashes.
