Hello all, for those who want to resize the navigation bar. the ZIP of galaxy nexus works perfectly.
FOR STOCK ROM AND ROOT
view thread. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2003425
CM 10.1 Latest nightly did not work. Stuck in a boot loop. DO NOT TRY
I have the stock deodexed 4.2.1 and it works perfectly.
It can be done in paranoid Android natively.

AOKP ROM has it
Flashed it and works perfect. The only thing I cannot unlock lock screen. Need to use widget camera to get inside homescreen @@.

Flashed the 28dpi and it boot loops. CM10 today's nightly.

A word of caution: this mod flashes a different SystemUI.apk and framework-res.apk which can be highly specific to whatever ROM you're using. It will more than likely cause problems for a lot of people. Also, the original thread clearly states that the ROM needs to be deodexed, and the stock ROM is not. If you want to try it anyways (which I advise against), make a nandroid as you will almost definitely need it.
I'm using maddoggin rom which has nav bar resize built in... That roms nav bar mod works great!
codefireX has this built in. Best ROM available, in NY opinion.

So I was completely naive and trusted the thread and flashed it without reading the original thread, now im stuck in a bootloop, how to i get out of it? I didnt have a nandroid backup, please help!
Pretty down and power button to get in fastboot then go into recovery. Flash a ROM (on your phone) of your choice.
If you don't have any ROM, you can use fastboot to flash a ROM I think. I don't know how to do it but you can find tutorial with the search button. You will get your phone back.

Am pretty new to flashing roms and mods. I've did the streak, captivate, s2 lte, and now just got the nexus.
Was wondering if I can just keep it stock and grab pieces of mods and flash em?
Thanks for any answers

Yes, you can use stock ROM, but you will have to get root access and unlock bootloader anyway. Also probably you will want to flash custom recovery which is very helpfull in cases when flashing some mods goes wrong.

So I can keep stock and just get mods then.... hard to choose with all the roms out there. Thanks for the response. Might just try a rom though cause this nexus starts to slow after after awhile

Mods can not be used on stock odexed ROM, you'll have to flash a Stock deodexed ROM, which isn't 100% factory stock. The ROM will be untouched other than deodexing the system files.
To install an OTA update, you must present the stock recovery on the galaxy

Yes, my bad. On SGS2 we had tons of mods/themes for stock-odexed ROMS. Thanks for correcting me.

Can I flash mods to a stock rooted rom or it has to be a custom rom?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using XDA
It depends entirely on the mod. Many will work just fine, some require a deodexed ROM, others modify something specific to a ROM.
Like for example the soft key mod to change the color of the soft keys can I flash that on stock rom?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using XDA
Do a back up and then try and flash your mod.
Its the only way to learn.

i used metamorph and it worked that way yay lol
Hi, I'm using androidme lite aosp ROM and would like to use the messaging .apk like the one found in codenames ROM (I mainly want the pop up notification option). I used root explorer and tried overwriting the .apk but I kept getting FC. Can someone maybe make a flash able .zip that would work?
Thanks in advance.
Bump but for stock?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda app-developers app
Ya, for stock. Its basically a stripped stock ROM.
I made this one for bamf ROM, it should work with any jb ROM but make a backup first just in case

I'm still getting the same message. Thanks tho. Maybe I'll try the Androidme thread.
Note: these are not mine. I just compiled them all into one bootable zip for easier installation. Here is the link to the original thread: (do not comment on this linked thread)

-Note before installing-
-These flip fonts only work on touchwiz roms.
-Check the compatible Rom list on the second post before flashing!
-These fonts when trying to choose one will be laggy considering the amount of fonts that are installed, so be patient.
I am also not responsible for any thing that happens to your phone when using this zip! I recommend using twrp. May not work on all roms! If you turn your phone into a fancy paper weight I am not responsible so I recommend making a backup or else you could end up with a fancy paper weight.
To install (twrp recommended)
1: download zip.
2: boot into recovery.
3: backup Rom.
4: install zip.
5: reboot phone and let sit for a few minutes.
_To activate flip font_
Menu>settings>display>font style
(May be different for your Rom.)
-Download- v1.0

If you want me to update this as more flip fonts get posted on the other thread just let me know.

If you have any questions at all about these flip fonts, anything at all. Please refer to this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1331836 But feel free to ask questions here and I will try my best in answering them.
List of known compatible roms :
Jedi mind trick
Jedi knight
This is for the T-Mobile Samsung galaxy s2 T989 Hercules ONLY! any other phone and you WILL be bricked! Always make a backup before flashing ANY zip! (Not just this zip but every zip that you download!) You have been warned!
If you want to know how I made this zip, I just installed all of the application's included in this zip and used a really great app on the android market (which I recommend everyone getting if they plan on trying out new Roms and want to keep some apps) called "app2zip" and made them into a zip that way.
If for some "unknown" reason your phone becomes soft bricked, meaning you can get into download mode and strictly download mode (if you can't do that you are hard bricked) (You can do this by plugging your phone into computer turning on and pressing and holding volume up and volume down buttons) please refer to this thread and your phone will be back to stock.

Yes I am pretty sure, test it and see what happens! =) and remember, make a backup before flashing!

I believe these only work with touchwiz ROMs, because there is no font options with Aokp or CM.

There is a different method to getting to them. In not sure as I am on Jedi mind trick x3, go to the questions thread and he may be able to help you better.
Edit: all flip fonts have to be touch wiz base.

Hello everyone!
I have actually been searching for a quick settings mod to change the order/add tiles to the notification panel quick settings.
I recently found a thread over in the Verizon Galaxy Nexus forum where there was a mod to do just that by the developer kevdliu. Unfortunately, this mod didn't play too nicely with the Nexus 4 system ui for some reason when flashing it on the stock JWR66V builds.
Cargobr151 modified the zip to work with the GSM Galaxy Nexus and just recently added a zip that works on the deodexed JWR66V builds. I tried it out on the Nexus 4 and it works great!
I just wanted to pass the info on because I really wanted to modify my quick settings tiles on stock and I'm sure many other might too.
I take absolutely no credit so go and thank kevdliu and cargobr151 for these great modifications!
Here's the link to cargobr151's post (I used version 1):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=44803311&postcount=777
1. Reboot to recovery
2. Mount system
3. Flash the zip
4. Reboot
Enjoy!!

This is great! Are you planning to make a odexed version too?
Thanks in advance!

How do I know if I have Odex or not?
Look at your root/system/app and if there are .odex files along with apk then you have odexed rom like factory image
Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk 4
Well if you haven't flashed any custom ROMs then you are odex most likely. If you did flash custom ROMs, the information in the thread should tell you whether it's odex or deodex.
Edit: playabigfoot beat me to it
As for an odex version of this mod, keep checking back at the original post by cargobr151 I linked in the OP. He is the creator of the GSM version of this mod, not me. He says in his post that the odex versions will be coming soon.

mine is deodexed stock JWR66V on nexus 4 and each of the files causes systemui to crash on boot. i am mounting system each time before i flash but no luck, going back to stock qs for now
Make sure you're using version 1 in the link I posted in the OP. This is the one I'm using and I've had no issue so far.
Also, make sure it's the one posted by cargobr151. If you use the one posted by kevdliu it'll cause the system ui to crash.

Nevermind about what I originally asked, I see it. However, I am guessing the odexed version posted by cargobr151 of kevdliu's mod will not work? AKA Don't try the mod posted here on my factory image?

From my understanding, it will work but it gets rid of the day/month line on JWR66V builds. I don't think this is the case on JSS builds but I'm not 100% sure on that.
Just be sure to do a backup before you try and flash the one you linked.

Great Thank you
I flashed v1 and it works great. I even used 7zip to copy my battery and softkey pngs over before flashing and kept those mods.

odex version +1. I'm surprised that there is less interest from developers to create this.
I tried both (first deodex, then tried odex) and they didn't work. Status bar and navigation bar gone.
I was JWR66V stock with root only, TWRP 2.6.0.0
I restored JWR66V and updated to Y. But I'm really interested!
+1 same here

The odexed version won't work as it was made for the GNex. Odex mods are device-specific. The deodex version worked fine for me, though.
Deodex here, nothing have changed.
Edit, did it again now it worked
