[Q] Audio Lag/Latency fix? - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

I'm having really bad audio lag when I play rhythm games (tap tap, beats etc.) and even after starting the audio 4 seconds earlier there's still some lag. Does anybody know how to fix this or if there is a fix?
I've also noticed that youtube videos MAY be slightly out of sync but I can't confirm that
(I'm running AOKP android 4.2 with the franco kernel)
Thanks in advance!

[Q] Flickering background in video playback!

Hey!
I hope this question hasn't been already been posted and answered. Only recently I got my Galaxy Nexus and so far I'm seriously in love  On thing that bugs me though, is the crappy video playback, whether on YouTube or directly played from the internal storage. There's always a lot of background artifacts and noise where's only supposed to be a plain color, e.g. black (compared to playback on a PC or other devices). Could someone play this video (search on YT for Perfect Balance Pedal, first video from 0:14 on) on their Gnex and report if they face the same problem or have a solution? Thanks a lot!
I don't have any bug like that..
I'm using JB ROM and with stock ICS ROMs I didn't have that problem too..
Are you using stock ROM with stock kernel, or..?

Never experienced this issue. However, since it's occurring on both videos contained in memory as well as streaming services like YouTube, it's not likely an issue with the connection. The only thing I can come up with is something in your graphics drivers (hopefully) or GPU (hopefully not) is messed up. Have you tried downloading all of the stock software, checking md5sums and reflashing stock?
If a fresh and clean install of stock continues to have this issue, it may be an issue with the hardware and may need to be replaced.
Thanks for the quick reply! I'm currently on mike1986's Android Revolution 5.01 (JB) with Trinity Kernel, but I don't think the problem relates to that because I previously got this on stock 4.04 also. So it could just be a defunction of my screen?

An issue with the GPU blobs / GPU itself or possibly the CPU is more likely than the screen itself. If there was an issue with the screen you would likely see problems outside of video playback.

[Q] Audio Lag in games fix?

In games like tap tap or beatsportable I'm getting pretty bad lag/latency between the music playing and the actual timing of the game.
I'm running android 4.2 AOKP ROM and the franco kernel (galaxy nexus )
I wasn't getting the weird lag when I was using the stock android 4.0.4 and most other games and the normal system buttons don't have this sound lag with button presses... so.. I'm kind of out of ideas as to what could be the cause (the games themselves? :/)
Thanks in advance.
The problem is in the ROM and not in the phone...
It's really annoying when there is dozens of the questions of the issues in aokp ROMs report the problems to the ROM Devs. They will fix those problems..

last versions of cm 10.1 causing the app "newsy" to have distorted video

anyone have any idea why since the 28th nightly and rc3 my newsy app would have distorted video to the point you can't tell whats going on, with 3-4 diagonal black lines across the screen?
if anyone else is running 28 29 30 nightlies or rc3 can you try installing app newsy and playing one of the news clips and see what happens? any help on a fix or who i should report the bug to would be greatly appreciated its one of my favorite apps and i can't use it.

do you have any idea why even though CM team said hdmi is fixed on my telus p930/p935 i get no video when using my MHL, but i tested my MHL to be working with your liquid rom?
https://jira.cyanogenmod.org/browse/CYAN-1101
this is a link to the issue i have the dmesg output posted under hdmi p935 novideo.txt
is it a related issue?
disable hw overlays fixed youtube and newsy but MHL/HDMI still no video output (it switches to landscape and lags a little bit and no video)

1080p Playback on Beanstalk 4.4.278

My Acro S is running Beanstalk 4.4.278. Great rom so far but 1080p playback (specifically on MX Player) does not work. Freezes and reboots my phone when I try. 1080p recording with latest Google Camera works like a charm but its frustrating I can't view any of them. I haven't tried playback on any other video players though. I removed the video player that came with KitKat or the rom btw so I can't try that too.
Any help or advice?

Just tried it (since I had never tried it before you mentioned it) and it works fine. The video is a little juttery, but I can live with that.
Running BeanStalk v4.4.285, on the same phone.. Kernel is 3.4.0-Evovle-v1.11+ [email protected]
I think you might want to upgrade to the latest version - that might fix it.

Thanks for answering
Any notable bugs on 4.4.285? I might upgrade if that will fix the playback problem and if there aren't any annoying bugs..

There are two that are a bit annoying (again, not everyone has these though, so you might get lucky).
1. Sometimes when a call comes in, the screen will either stay blank and take a while to light up (by which time the caller has hang up)
2. Sometimes streaming a video online (with any player, not just MX) will crash and force the device to reboot when you try to exit watching the video.
These are the two major issues that I find on my phone. Never the less, I still prefer this version to stock, so I have been using it for more than a month now and I am very happy.

Music Stops on Redmi 1s with MIUI and Custom ROMs too.

Hi there, I am Redmi 1s user and I am facing a big issue of Music stop, the time goes on but music doesn't. Usually i thought it might be MIUI problem so tried Custom ROM. Still i am facing same problem. Music not only stops on stock music players but also on 3rd party apps like hungama music, Google play Music etc. If you know the solution please do help. Thank You.
try neon kernel or gods kernel.... it will fix the issue....... but if you're using marshmallow then please disable the battery optimization for music apps n music effects app...... i have also faced such issues.....
it stops on gods kernel too. Will it be fine if i flash gods kernel on MIUI..?

Try this, I try this on some ROM android 6.0.1 on my armani, I got From @Phuclun510
For those who had audio suspend issue, try add this line to build.prop (in \system)
Code:
audio.offload.disable=true

The same problem was happening with me. Then I erased and then formatted the "system", " userdata" and "cache" partitions and then flashed the fast boot MIUI ROM.
After that I don't have that problem.
I did a clean install of Mokee 5.1 Release 160309, using kernel stock, and nano Open Gapps.
I've been testing it for a week and definitely haven't faced the music bug anymore!

add this line to /system/build.prop
ro.qualcomm.perf.cores_online=2
And reboot you won't get audio stops but battery backup will get effected as two cores always stay active
