hi guys today randomly my xperia s just randomly stopped emitting sound from the speakers. songs play from the walkman but no sound comes out. also when i recieve/make a call i cannot hear the person but they can hear me. however my phone still makes rings and there is sound!! and keypad tones are still there! i have also tried using voice recorder to test the mic but it seems to not record any sound. i have reflashed the original ics firmware via flashtool and also done a factory reset but still no luck. i have no warranty with my phone so please help!
Hey, i had similar problem. Did u use ur headset prior to that problem? For me worked plugging and unpluging headset till my "smartphone" unfu.... himself. I think phone still thinks that headphones are pluged in.
Hope that helps! G.L.

hi does this work on stock phones too would love to get the volume higher too work in a nosiy area and hard to hear the phone ring sometimes
If you think this phone's speaker is to low, try using an HTC phone! Their speakers are pathetic!

This phone has great speaker volume ! if you think this is bad, the HTC Sensation must permanently be speaker less in your possession
I came from the sensation and the speaker was pathetic. GS2 blows it. Although i would still like it louder lol

Any updates on this? Maybe using service mode? I can get into service mode with *#*#197328640#*#* but I cant make any changes that do anything (actually one time I made it so speaker or handset did not work at all but a restart fixed it).

Try louder volume hack or volume + from the market. Just be warned you can eff up the speaker permanently by altering the stock levels. Then you will be even happier with a blown mobile speaker lol.

I just got the HTC A100 for my S3 and it sounds pretty darn good! I'm not 100% sure if it's streaming in apt-x audio, i'm assuming it is? Good bass and treble, definitely worth $50. It's so nice to worry about just 1 cable to connect to the phone too, looks clean on my dashboard.

No unfortunately phone calls don't go through the speakers, you have to answer it like normal usage but I also have it paired with Bluetooth headset I use in car so it wasn't a big problem for me. In most case phone's paired with built in car Bluetooth anyways so it works fine that way too.

Do you have to connect it every time you get in the car or does it automatically connect and if you take a phone call does the music stop and start back up after? Is there any thing you really like or hate about it? Thank you in advance. I would just go buy one and try all this out myself but there is not a store here that has them.

It has built in automatic shut off to save battery life when not in use, once it's turned off automatically or manually by pressing the control button till red light blink once, you have to press the button again to turn it on and it will pair with your device. When you get a phone call music stops and plays back after the phone call. So far I don't think I find anything negative. It's very compact, good battery hours and sounds good, if there is one thing, I wish I could check how much battery life is left. Only notification is when the battery is low red led light turns on.

anybody knw where the microphone or what ever it is called that sends the voice to the other party is located, i changed my lcd everything worked fine but people cant hear me if i call thm or they call me any help will be appreciated..thnx
It's the tiny hole at the bottom of the phone to the right of the microUSB port.

try plugging headphones into yr phone, try to call someone. If they can hear you say it means that your microphone is broken.

Let the wax build up in your ears. Its ok then.
Turn the volume up and back down again. This temporarily fixed the problem for me.

Yep I agree turn the volume up then down whilst it's ringing and it will be quieter during your call.

You mean the FRONT speaker, don't you?
I have the same issue, and I think that this isn't the problem, but I will try.

I have this too - its a Jelly Bean bug.
Turn the volume upto 100% during a call then back down to the level you want, you can do this whilst a call is dialing so thats it already done when it starts ringing.
If you are already at 100% volume, then you still need to try to increase the volume before you try to decrease it or it wont work sometimes as well.
Is this seriously the only solution, because I will need to do this every time I get a call.
Is there a permanent solution in sight?
Turning the call up then down solves it

This worked for me thanks my man. It made sense after I thought about it. As I was brushing the front speaker I saw the dirt coming out of it. Now I have my in call volume set to half and sounds like I have it at full before I brushed it.

My phone doesn't ring when I make outgoing calls. The other person can hear me, but I can't hear them. Any suggestions on troubleshooting this issue?
That happens to me but only when I call a T-Mobile number. It works after I call back a couple times but it seems to happen every time I call those same two people on T-Mobile.
This happens to me. A reboot fixes it but as soon as I press the speakerphone the audio refuses to come back after re dialing then I have to reboot again
