I am running Frosty JB v11.5 with the Xone kernel V2.0.
Just wanted to find out what setting work best for equal performance and battery with the existing governors and i/o for you guys?
As of now I am using Intellidemand governor and Zen scheduler. Getting decent performance and battery life (3+ hrs screentime).
Cheers

V3 of the kernel just came out a hour ago. That might help

Smartass/SavagedZen Gov.

Can somebody tell me what the difference between smartass and savagedzen cpu governor?? i cant get a solid answer searching the net!
Thanks guys for the help!
savagedzen is more smartass'ier than smartass. stick with interactive on the gb kernel though as it is reported to be better performance and battery life and my personal choice
So what you are saying is scratch out smartass and savagedzen setting and stick with interactive??
sent from the bathroom...
conservative is the best for me, i have tried savagedzen settings and they're not that bad. try out the settings, and maybe you'll see which one you'll like the most.
I've been good with smartass but i'll definitely check out the others since you guys vouch for them. With froyo I got four days on my extended battery with ultimate juice. Now I get two.
I had the same question regarding smartass vs. SZ gov - I've been using smartass but I'll give interactive a try. Thanks!

Help Please. What are the best Governers and I/O Schedulers....

I need not only performance, but battery life as well..
i currently have my clock at 998 high and 245 low
Performance governor and cfq i/o scheduler
but i want something that wont give me ANY lag, and give me good battery life
Depends on the kernel you use but currently I'm using MikG rom with the Underworld kernel, Smartassv2 governor, and SIO i/o scheduler. That's the best set up for ME. Just change things around and see what works out best for you and the set up you have. InteractiveX and Ondemand are also good Governors and Noop and deadline are good i/o schedulers as well.
The Performance governor that you are using now will drain the battery very fast because it will keep the cpu at the 998 most of the time or whatever you Change your max to
This should help a bit.

A couple of questions.....

1st,
What is the best cpu speed for great performance and excellent battery life???
2nd,
What is the Best Governor for battery life and performance???
3rd,
What is the best IO Scheduler for battery life and performance?
I know there are a lot of threads with these questions, but they didnt have the best answers.
Im currently on 356mhz min and 1.3ghz max with governor performance and IO scheduler sio.
Hahaha.. Every Q u've asked depends on the phone. But i think this is the setup for every1 & infact almost every rom had this setup by default.
Governor: smartassV2, ondemand
I/o : sio, deadline
Freq : min-200Ghz, max-1200Ghz
Kernel is up to u. But fyi, its not all up to the kernel. The rom hav thier own role to achieve whats best. Again, everything's depends on the phone.
I prefer the governor badass. Performance locks it in its highest clock speed, so it´ll go through your battery really fast. As for the overclock, I have it at 1600 when gaming and 1200 when not gaming (SetCPU).
ok.

[Q] governors and schedulers

I was wondering which governors and schedulers are the best for say performace or battery? I've done a little research on my own, but what do you prefer on your HTC One V? I've got aokp JB running on my cdma one v
Thanks!
I am a kernel dev, so naturally I know whats behind this code Lionheart is my favorite as it has aggressive scaling. No lag is also good, in some cases. On demand is great with battery though. I can get roughly 8 hours mid use with on demand. I hope this helps with deciding your governors.

Hey Simon! I'm actually running your 3.0.46 sick kernel JB with AOKP. It's wonderful!! haha so far, I've been running OC at 1708 with the performance governor and noop scheduler... it's lasted 11 hours and I'm at 73% battery, medium to light use with wifi on the whole time, but it's pretty snappy!
Is Lionheart pretty much a performance governor? You mentioned aggressive scaling, so it's snappy when it needs to be, but saves for battery when you're not using it?
BTW I didn't see a "no lag" governor... not sure what that is, so can you clarify? Also, is performance actually the best for snappiness, or will lionheart be even better? I used to use [email protected]$$v2 on my optimus v, but I'm just not sure what's best here?
Nolag is a new addition. I have been hard at work removing even more htc things Lionheart is a bit nicer on battery then performance, because it will scale to your minimum of its not needed. Perfoance stays at full no matter. Cpu spy will be a good tool to help with battery as well

Oh kool! Well I don't see it in the latest kernel, so will it be in the next kernel? Thanks dude, you're awesome!
I'll fill everyone in on this thread on the work.
We are :
Patching to Linux 3.0.49
Removing htc additions that are hacks and ics specific.
Cleaning Bluetooth and header files up
Updating WiFi drivers
Updating GPU drivers
Overhauling the mmc drivers
We also have a driver dev that's working on camera and maybe eventually an lcdc driver which will allow us to use the experimental caf display needed for cyanogen mod10 and full project butter

Wow that sounds ridiculously awesome!!

[Q] Yet another "What governor/scheduler should I use" thread.

Hey guys. I have awful battery life on my GS3 for whatever reason, and I'm looking for a good governor to use. I'm on SlimBean and the BMS kernel, so my options are limited to the following:
Governors:
smartmax
dancedance
wheatley
badass
asswax
interactive
conservative
powersave
ondemand
performance
I/O Schedulers:
noop
deadline
row
cfq
zen
sio
fifo
sioplus
I'm looking for the best battery life possible, but still with a smooth interface. Any thoughts?
Please do some research before opening a new thread. There are plenty of threads on XDA as to what a kernel is. Also in this very forum there are plenty of helpful threads on settings.
The fact is that no 2 phones are the same, no 2 users are the same and no device will ever be used the same as another.
XDA members should do their research, read all they can and find what is best for them.
This thread will just lead to a bunch of replies as to what certain users have found to be best for them.
Thread closed.
