I was able to use the Youtube app w the screen locked to listen to the audio, I can no longer do this, also happens with streaming any content on the web. Is this Jellybean centric? I searched numerous combinations and nothing. Anybody have any insight or solutions?

I have never been able to do this ever on any phone. When you put your phone to sleep, it shuts everything down. only way to keep things active is by using a wake lock and some apps dont have this built in. but youtube app will stop immediatly after leaving the application.

Actually I was doing the same thing, but that was long time ago. I still had my sgs vibrant. But I think google made some update or whatever and stopped that future from working, it was before I got my sgs3 (I've skipped sgs2) and loooong before jb come out. Were you able to do it on sgs3? I would love to see someone bring it back.

Knew this was possible! Thanks for the link boss!!! Now if it could just play playlists id be so effing happy!
Yeah thanks guys. Im sure I was able to do it with this handset maybe it was my Vibrant. Seems like a silly thing to remove since you may want to listen to audio wo the screen on.

I'm stuck in a bootloop, and my home button is broken, I just need a way to get into recovery mode and i can easily fix the problem. Like i said, i can't use the hardware home button, the adb doesn't seem to recognize my phone ANY help would be much appreciated.

The home buttons ribbon is completely severed. I'd rather like to avoid spending the money to buy a new one. I'm assuming the easiest way to get around it is the adb, but it won't recognize the device.

Is there a difference between the jigs? I can't seem to find one specifically for the Note 2, or does it matter?
It shouldn't matter. .I had one and jigged a handful of samsung. .none of the same one..worked in all of them lol

Alright, well it seems like a better deal than a 20 dollar part, and a hell of a lot of work to replace the home button flex ribbon, I'll give it a try. Thanks
No problem.

I've done this before on my Galaxy S3 using this method:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1782155
I was going to try doing it with my Galaxy S4 this morning, and the "ContextAwareService" isn't in the list anymore! Instead, there is "ContextProvider". I have looked around the files inside of there, but nothing looked like the steps in the thread I just mentioned.
If anyone has successfully done this, please let me know how you did it.
Thanks in advance.
I recently bought an S 4 and was wondering the same thing. Anyone figure this out yet?

That worked, thanks. Has that disabled anything else you noticed too?
Page buddy also brings up recommended shortcuts in the notification panel when the earphones are connected, when the phone is docked, or when the phone is roaming.
You won't have any of these three contextual notifications anymore, but I'm personally okay with that since I prefer a stock experience

so i had a gnex with a busted usb port. i was using my moms gnex battery in the meantime to send a few important tests before i went off the air, and then i got a HTC One (which is awesome btw) to replace it, but when i got the usb pcb to replace the busted one, i replaced it all and triple checked all connections before putting phone back together.
Basically the problem is this. power button wont do anything. the battery i have i know has a 50% charge on it. I tried the pull battery put in usb put in battery trick and that gets me to the charging logo for about 15 seconds and then the phone turns off.
Do i have a bricked phone?
any ideas?

nothing. dead as a doorknob. only thing that works is the battery short thing with the USB. but still only 15 second cycle then turn off.

So i have a ONN Bluetooth Keyboard it worked for the first day and now the only thing that happens is that it repeats the keys like crazy.
Any possible fix for the Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4

Sounds like it's defective, do you have another device to test it with, I guess you could try to disable the on screen keyboards to make sure they aren't conflicting somehow.
Try to reboot the tablet too .
